has anyone tried running FOF on windows 8? I am thinking on getting a win 8 tablet (don't expect FOF to has any touchscreen functionality) to carry my FOF league game during travel. If anyone has experience with such I would love to hear about it.

when i went from xp to win 7 the directory structure was changed to the following -

C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\Solecismic Software\Front Office Football 2007\leagues

is it the same for win 8?

Run as administrator on 8 the other day for the first time and it worked correctly.

No issue running it on an Envy x2 tablet.

So I installed the game on my win 8 machine, I was waiting for elicense to free up a license for me. The game would always launch to the purchase/enter license screen.

Now I am getting "he application was unable to start correctly 0xc0000142" error. Anyone deal with this? I am going to uninstall and reinstall and see if that fixes it.

Solved it...

I had to turn DEP off for World of Tanks and that was wrecking the game...

have FOF running on a WIN8 but haven't been able to get the Stelmack suite to install. Does not like the newer version of .net that is on the machine, won't run the install program.

I was looking into this kind of issue, because I'm getting a new desktop with Win 8.

I read that programs that require Net 3.5 may not run on Win 8 because Net is not backward compatible.

So the solution is often to install Net 3.5 before installing the software. Apparently, these versions can coexist happily on your computer.

I know the discussion in this thread was for the previous version of FOF, but did you experience any trouble with the windows being off screen? I was really looking forward to using FOF seven on my tablet but it is not working so well.

Many of the windows open up below the screen or off screen. For example, if I open, say, the individual stats screen, the exit button is below the screen and I cannot close the window. I also can't resize that window either. Any tips on getting it to all fit?

Change your resolution in either the program you're using or the computer itself.

I have an 18" Dell laptop/computer with Win 8.1. Had to set compatibility to Win8 and it works perfectly. Cant wait to watch football on the big screen while strategizing my Seahawks season in FOF7!

Has anyone tried it on a Surface? I see that they have knocked the original Surface Pro down to $500 and I'm tempted to get one. I'm just not sure what I would use it for yet besides games.

Just wanted to follow up on this, has anyone installed FOF on a Surface tablet?

To add, my hope is to be able to have FOF, FBB and similar text sim games available.

I'm wondering this as well. Thinking about getting a Surface Pro 3.
