He's basically living my dream.

We've been linking his articles in the NHL thread pretty frequently. He's doing great work and it's weird seeing his perception grow across the internet (only from our perspective, as it's obviously well deserved).

It's pretty awesome. We're very proud of our Maple Leafs.

It is impressive. What's even more impressive is that his articles are very rarely 8,000 words long that could easily have been 800 words. You don't have to quit your job to read his articles. They might drum him off Grantland for that some day.

Next logical extension is for him to get a podcast on the Grantland Network.

Heh, there is a certain ring of truth in that statement ;)

One of these days more of his books will be printed and my brother-in-law will get his XMas present...

Fun read. The NHL has a wacky history.

Sadly, it already is/was a national movement. HM was just parroting some pick-up artist spiel that he likely read in one of the world's saddest books:

Cocky and Funny! (https://www.google.com/search?q=cocky+and+funny&aq=f&oq=cocky+and+funny&aqs=chrome.0.57j0l3j62l2.2726&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8)

If we're mentioning Grantland, avoid the urge to watch House Eats 3 on the YouTube channel. Nasty.

Proof of how much of a big shot he is...he's had his own thread up here for a day and hasn't even stopped by to say hello.

A JimmyWint reference might work.

This was my first thought. Somewhere in NHL history, a contract or two has been fudged.

Any relationship scandal could be referenced as pulling a Jimmy Wint.

I had a worlds-collide moment tonight when one of my best friends from college linked to a Grantland article about the St. Louis Blues, which just so happened to be written by Maple Leafs.

I thought about trying to explain to my friend how I know Maple Leafs, but it was going to require that I explain FOF, OOTP, the RWBL, why I thought Carmelo Gutierrez was a potential Hall of Famer and the career of Doug "Oil Can" Trapani.

You realize all of us are about to enter the golden zone of all the effort we put into FOFC being transmitted in various forms to the masses.

The revolution will be textualized.

Bawhaha.

I got ML's book for my BIL (who played college hockey and whose dad is an NHL scout) last year.
