If you have a player who is active, but you don't want him to play on defense/offense, how do you keep him from playing snaps?

I have a CB who is a very good returner, but crap as a DB, he is not on the depth chart at all on base, goal line, nickel or dime, only as a returner, but he still gets in the game and gets defensive snaps.

Is there any way to prevent this from happening, some type of setting? I had this problem with a WR in the past, same situation.

I'd guess he's being inserted when a corner is tired in a dime.

Is he the only active corner not on the depth chart?

Yeah. I have 2 LCB, 2 RCB and him (LCB) active. So 5 CB's total active, he is the only one not on the DC anywhere.

Also 3 S's active.

For nickel I use the backup LCB, for dime adding the backup S.
