Before last week, I had never watched Kitchen Nightmares. But after seeing all the internet hubub over the people on Amy's Baking Company, I watched that episode.
I'm so confused. Even if FOX was doing some creative editing to make the owners seem over-the-moon insane, it seems safe to assume that the video of them screaming at and threatening customers wasn't just creative editing; I mean, these people did that, no matter what the customers actually did to provoke it. These people knew there were cameras there, why on earth would they do anything but be on their absolute best behavior when cameras are on?
Then there's been other news about them: http://www.azcentral.com/thingstodo/dining/articles/20130521amys-baking-company-owner-deportation.html?nclick_check=1
Then I went to their Twitter page to see if they might have learned and I'm just floored by what I see. Yes, it's possible they got hacked...but somehow, it seems unlikely. Half of the tweets seem "normal" like, "Scottsdale vegans: come try our delicious veggie platter with our world famous, homemade pesto hummus! Mmm! http://via.me/-c5idgag" and then there are some that seem above and beyond crazy, such as: "OMG. MY DOCTOR JUST CALLED US. SHE THINKS I'M PREGNANT W A HUMAN BABY. MAYBE THAT'S WHY I'VE BEEN SO EMOTIONAL LATELY. SAMY & I ARE EXCITED!" (Warning, if you do go to their Twitter page, there is all kinds of NSFW language...and if you care about grammar, you might also want to avert your eyes...)
So...what gives? Is this all for real? Is this more or less so than most reality shows (I don't watch too many)?
