Cabrera Vs. Pujols

Obviously Cabrera is the better hitter now, but my question is, who do you think will retire with the best overall numbers / career as a hitter only?

Tough question. Different leagues.
Pujols had one of the best 10 year stretches in the history of baseball. He put up some crazy numbers.
I say Cabrera has a better career average but he wont put up the HRs, RBIs, or hits that Albert will.
Albert is 100+ HRs ahead, and 300+ RBIs and 300 hits ahead of Cabrera.

I say Albert has better numbers. Greatest hitter our generation will see, I imagine.

I think Cabrera will be the better hitter, I think Pujols actually can play Defense... but I think the fact that Pujols is replacement level with 200M left on his contract will kill his legacy!

Albert is three years older though. If Cabrera keeps up his current level of production for the next 3 years, he is right there with Pujols at the same age.

If you asked this two years ago, I think Pujols is the clear choice, but if Cabrera can mash big time for a few more years and Pujols continues to flutter, Cabrera may pass him.

I havent even voted in my own poll yet as I am not sure myself.

Hard to say at this point. How long will Pujols hang on in a declined state? What point will Cabrera start to decline?

Just a quick glance and I'll give Pujols' peak years the nod, though Cabrera is having a year this year that rivals (or beats) Pujols' best years.

I was really hoping Pujols would keep up his 900 or so OPS type numbers for a few more years.

I ended up voting Pujols. I am still optimistic he can finish strong and put up a few more seasons of 800+ Ops work. Cabrera certainly could pass him up depending on his career arc.
