I thought I noticed something in my main career and just opened up several savegames to verify it. Having done so, I can now say with reasonable confidence that we can expect less QB talent to be generated in FOF7. How much less? In four different mature FOF7 savegames, guys with a current rating (by my scout) of less than 40 are in the top 32 QBs in the league. Among other things, that appears to mean that QBs rated in the upper 30s/low 40s expect "marginal starter" money to sign in FA and to renegotiate. I'm wondering if that's based purely on past playing time (in my league RGIII in 2019 is rated 39/39 and wants around $10M per year to sign as a FA, but he started 15 games last year,) or if there's a significant "talent" component to the request. If it's the latter, things could get interesting pretty quickly. I'm looking at my 45/45 CCFL backup QB right now, who is signed two a 2-year minsal deal and hasn't started a game in six seasons. Is he going to want decent starter money next season? Looking at comparables in my main SP league, the only QB rated in the 40-48 (current) range who is costing less than 2% of the salary cap (around $3M) is holding out for more money. ;) I'm very curious to see this dynamic as it plays out. If my previously-mentioned backup wants 2% of the salary cap, that would mean his cap cost would go from $1.15M to $6.4M.
