City Information / Relocating

Ok, first off, I just bought the game. I've never played any of the version before but I know about them. I did play 2 of the Football Mogul versions but I felt like I was just clicking and had nothing to do :( I tried the demo of this new fof7 and didn't give it enough time. I sat at work last night reading this forum and reading a massive review of 2007 on Football Outsiders and then bought it when I came home! I love it! It's pretty amazing all the stats and detail and I'm growing to love the not so easy on the eyes interface (knowing there is a comp to update it for the first update is nice to hear too) anyway the reason for the post...

So I'm the Raiders! And they suck. Everything sucks. I'm one of them who is obsessed with the financial side of these games so the City info is very nice for me. I notice LA want a team bad and I want to give it to them! However I noticed there is no Canadian or out of the US based locations. It's not a major deal but in the current situation with NFL possibly (depending who you listen too) moving to London, England in the coming years it would be an extra nice touch to be able to relocate to say Toronto or London. Not saying we should have all the world included but a few select places could keep it extra interesting. Toronto, London, Mexico City, Berlin, Hamburg ect

I might be in the minority but just thought i'd add it and say hi. Anyway back to losing some more!

Unfortunately, there have never been any international cities in the game. I too have wanted to add Canadian cities but it takes a bit of work. There used to be a third-party City Editor but I'm not sure that's available any more.

I think the best you can do right now is to rename some of the existing cities that don't have franchises but obviously the population and region information will be off.

I would think it shouldn't be too difficult to simply add additional major international cities to the database or allow users to do it.

Doesn't necessarily need to do that. I think all that is required would be a way to add new Cities to the available list, along with their regional info.

Thanks to the generosity of gstelmack releasing his source code, I've done an update of the City Editor utility which enables you to edit all of the city information in FOF7. The instructions included should be self-explanatory. You will need to start a new game to see the updated cities.

universe directory not read if user did not include the \universe directory when browsing and setting the "universe location"; now it is properly read simply by referencing the "Front Office Football Seven" folder
September humidity was not refreshing properly
latitude and longitude were switched

It would be interesting to have some European cities. I know that there is a wants to be near home component for some free agents. It could be an interesting challenge if some players didn't want to sign with you because of the distance.
