A good friend of mine was killed last night in a Caltrain accident. There aren't many details out there, but from what we've heard he was trying to help someone who was having trouble getting off the tracks. His efforts weren't in vain, as the other party survived. He was far too young, but if the details are true, it is extremely fitting that he died helping another.

Word is trickling down that he pulled a suicide off the tracks. The other party is alive, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and has already been released from the hospital. Having always been someone who has found suicide to be an incredibly selfish, poor choice I'm having a real hard time not being angry at this person I've never met.

The other part of me is thinking "This guy had it bad enough he wanted to kill himself. Now this happened. Is there any worse place in the world right now than that guy's head?"
