OK, I had this problem with a reshacked FOF7 but now that was fixed by going back to the original FOF7 exe. But, now I have upgraded to FOF7a and not altered anything other than images in the image directory and once again I am not getting prompted for the player file when starting a new game. I know I cant be the only one that has tried to start 7a with a alternate player file. Any suggestions ?

Works fine for me. Did you read the help file?

You can choose to begin a new career with an alternate player file. If there are not enough players in the alternate players file, the game will make up fictional players of very little talent. If you select this option, you will be prompted for the location of the alternate player file.I get prompted to load an .fdt file, just as I would expect.

Yeah Ben, read the file. I wish I could post screen prints to show. I have the right options selected it just goes straight to the Beginning New Game with no prompt for file whether I have "Begin game using alternate player file" set to Yes or NO. Tried it with all 3 draft options still no prompt.

Take a look at this shockwave video of my screens when you get a chance.

Maybe some rights thing? Run as administrator? When I do any of that, a window pops up prompting me to load the fdt file. My guess is that it's something in your setup, but I have no idea what. (Or is it as simple as the window popping up behind what you can see?)

I think I may have found it Ben. Checked the setting and it was running in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode. Unchecked that and the window now pops up asking for the file. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
