Hi there,
Just tried out the FOF7 demo and looking to buy the game once the demo runs out.
1. First, I am more a fan of fictional play and while I understand the game doesn't have league structure customization options, I will likely play a fictional game anyway under the NFL structure.
That being said, I don't have a lot of time to set up team names and cities, go get graphics, etc etc. I know in OOTP there are a bunch of "quickstart" leagues which people can just download, install and play right away, with all the leg work done? Are there any similar such things for FOF7? I would love to just grab a predesigned fictional game and just get started right away with an inaugural draft.
2. Secondly, is there any sort of beginner primer or 'must read' documents or information for new players of the game? I find it somewhat daunting with so many screens and so much information presented of what I SHOULD be doing each week and how I should be preparing for the week's games. If anyone wants to let me know any must-read information, or let me know what screens they be sure to go to and to set each week, that would be great.
3. As a follow to that, is there any sort of reading material available on playcalling logic and tips (mostly for O, I normally let the computer handle the D) ... I do know football a little bit and am familiar with the different sets, but I'm a little confused with what specific formations and "strength left" "strength right" and other sorts of combinations are going to yield the best results and what sort of in-game logic I should be using.
4. I enjoy playing out my games and while I enjoy calling my team's plays on offence, I find it a bit clunky at times. Are there any hotkeys, for example... it seems odd when I 'view' a certain play that I have to exit out of that screen, find it again on the menu and then click 'Call' the play.. Is there any hotkey where after I view a play I can press a button and just call it from that point, saving time and clicks?
5. Lastly, in the first few games I've played, I've found it difficult to manage the time clock around the ends of halves ..
For example last game I was tied 17-17 in the 4th quarter and was driving and in field goal range.. I rane a play with like 50 seconds left I believe, thinking I had plenty of time... but then when I went to call another play, the time had expired and the quarter we over without me running another play... I guess I should have called timeout, obviously.. Does the team take their entire play clock every time unless you select 'no huddle' or time out?
Thanks in advance!
