My father-in-law died a week a ago.My wife and daughter went to California to be with the family. I had to watch the animals, and to be honest, I just couldn't handle being around others right now. He was a mentor to me, and I love him like I would a biological father.

Moving on past that, on Friday or Saturday, my wife sent me a pizza - my favorite - Anchovies and Onions. There are still 4 pieces left and I want them; however, I'm freaked that the Anchovies will kill me, because they're fish.

So, any advice?

Order another? Take em off? Man up and eat it!

And sorry for your loss. I do not look forward to the day I lose an immediate family member like parents or siblings...on me or my wifes side.

that sucks,

if they have been stored well you are fine (refrigerated in airtight container)

if its in the box... chuck it.

What is a pizza? It's a flat circle. You've eaten it before. You'll eat it again.

Anchovies are usually cured, so I'm pretty sure they can last for a while (http://www.recipelion.com/Preserving-Meats/Salt-Cured-Anchovies/ct/1).

Condolences on your father-in-law.

Its not raw tuna, you will be fine.

I had a college roommate who was a former Ranger and used to buy those cans of mustard sardines and eat them straight up. Drinking a beer , eating sardines and playing Command and Conquer.

Although , that is just gross. (the sardines)

I think if you wash it down with some strong whiskey it will kill all the germs.

That's my vote as well.

I think if you wash it down with some strong whiskey it will kill all the germs.

This is just good advice for life in general.

Been a long time. Maybe he shouldn't have eaten the anchovies.

Nah, if he ate the anchovies he's sleeping the sleep of the righteous.

It's still there and to be honest, it reeks. I've been eating Ramen and refried beans. Chicken and Anchovies is desperate, and I learned that this week.

Don't do it.

Since I'm not the one eating I say YES, you should eat it.

I feel like you have a solid framework going for a japanese game show.

Seriously, I was hoping this became a recurring feature.
