Ok maybe its just me but ......come on this is beyond a joke.
Nearly every time I stop the offence on 3rd down the AI calls a penalty on me to give them a first down.
Every season my top players are wiped out with injuries.
Also why is that as soon as I get in the red zone it makes no difference what play I call (even if the coach calls it ) just cant move the ball.
This and a few other niggles arte really starting to spoil the game. I like a challenge but this is crazy.

What is your staff rated in terms of discipline? It sounds like a possible problem there

Back away from the computer man, it's just a game.
But really, what's your team cohesion look like?

Not going to be someone who just tells you you're wrong or that you are an idiot, but here are my experiences:
I haven't had the 3rd down problem. I have had issues with penalties with new coaches, young players, etc. Even at my height, the penalty problems didn't cause a 3rd to turn to a first more than a couple of times a game. (the five yard penalties really killed me)
Red zone? I've had the top team in my league the past three seasons in red zone scoring. I have a QB who is at a 90 something in short passes, a stud RB, and an above average line. No problems scoring at all. Where do you rank in the league in terms of that? What does your roster look like? If you have 2 pro bowl AOL and a solid RB while not being able to score, something might be wrong.
Injuries. I've played a metric ton of seasons at this point without having touched the injury slider a bit. My experience is all over the place. I'll have a year where nobody gets hurt. The following year I'll lose 10 guys, but none of them critical to me. I've had years where one position group gets ravaged. (My top 4 WR went down with season enders in first four games of one of my seasons. Then I have the disaster year where everything goes bad.
I just finished one of them. I have about 5 top 10 players on the roster. A QB, RB, WR, LT and SLB. Another 5 really good players, DE, CB, CB, G, DT.
By week 8, 7 of those ten guys were badly injured. I limped toward a playoff berth and in week 16 (15th game), my QB was injured. An injury that will cause him to miss all of next year as well. I get throttled in my playoff game against my arch rivals and am now in the middle of the offseason evaluating.
Do I keep a few guys and start cleaning house? Do I keep everyone I can and try to set up a 2 or 3 year window after he gets back? Will he come back with any kind of ratings? Injury wartorn year. What do I do now? That season is the anomaly. The single worst injury campaign I've had in at least 100 seasons of the game.

I enjoy the challenge of injuries....so much so that I play on 225. My suggestion to the thread starter would be to customize the game to his taste. Turn injuries down. If you don't know how to do that post back and we can walk you through it.

I suggest lowering the injury rate in the single-player Options. Default is set to 100 but I think it's often too high. Even after hiring a new Strength Coach with good Strength & Conditioning ratings, I'm still getting one or more broken or hyperextended arm/leg nearly every game along with others. The amount I get in Exhibition games is as bad or worse.
Dealing with injuries is part of the game but the default setting is too much IMO. I set mine to around 85. Still enough to put the squeeze on but not so much that many of my starters are sitting on the bench the whole season.
I think the issue I have is the rate of severe injuries which last months or the whole season happening so often. If I could lower the rate of the long-term injuries, alone, then I'd probably raise it back up to default. Less arm and leg breaking every week. ;)
Fortunately we can adjust the overall rate, so that'll do.

This thread is a clear indication why developers never make AI teams to difficult. If the AI was ever too difficult to beat lots of people would stop playing.

It's why you need sliders. To be blunt, it's also the reason you need to be able to reload the game. There are times when I'm finishing a long career and get a stud that I just want to run out the string with him and see what he can do. That means I will not allow him to get hurt.
I rarely do that, but the point is I want to play the game the way I want to play the game. I love the ability in FOF to do whatever I damned well please when it comes to those things.

It's a big time balancing act. You want it to be tough enough to be challenging, but not so tough that people get frustrated and walk away. Make it too easy and people get bored quickly. FOF usually achieves decent balance here, IME.

I've been thinking for a while it would be nice to have individual settings for SP. I like the challenge of having to manage injuries but I don't want to waste my time on seasons where all of my best players keep getting hurt.
As it stands, since I play week-week, managing each game, I just reload when the wrong guy has some kind of season ender. I hate that I do that though.
Would be fine if I could just designate certain players 'never hurt' and then let the rest of the team take its chances.

We definitely all have different play styles. It's crazy to see that someone thinks the 100 injury rate is too high - I play at 220. I feel like that's more realistic, and for me, managing the roster around injuries is one of the most fun parts of the game. And of course, the AI teams are playing at the same injury rate, and I'm probably better at managing injuries than they are. It's always fun to go into an important game with a rival at the end of a season and see that their star QB fucked up his knee the week before. :)

I don't have the time or patience to dick around with the depth chart for injured players, changing out the game plan every week, and other of that detailed junk. It's not remotely fun to me to "manage the roster around injuries." I prefer 50ish for injuries.

Same.
Juggling the roster after every game, due to constant injuries, is more of a chore than fun for me. I still want enough to make depth relevant but not so much that I'm getting five injuries every game.
While long-term injuries make for less roster flipping, I still think there can be a great overabundance of broken bones and such on default. These two reasons are enough for me to lower it.
