1. What is the best basketball program to never win the NCAA tournament? (cartman)

12 - Illinois
2 - Memphis
2 - Missouri
2 - Nebraska
2 - Purdue
2 - St. John's
2 - Wichita State
1 - BYU
1- Gonzaga
1 - Notre Dame
1 - Temple
1 - Texas
1 - VCU
1 - Virginia

Stupid really likes the Fighting Illini. I thought there would be more separation in the replies.

2. How many years until a 16/1 upset? (Lathum)

14 - Ten years
8 - 5 years
5 - Never
2 - One Year
1 - One hundred years
1 - Twenty Years

Stupid likes round numbers, and thinks it will be a decade

3. Which program will pull off the first 16/1 upset? (cartman)

6 - Coastal Carolina
5 - Florida Gulf Coast
4 - Princeton
3 - No one
2 - Harvard
2 - Cal Poly
1 - Belmont
1 - Butler
1 - Coppin State
1 - Florida Atlantic
1 - Gonzaga
1 - Murray State
1 - Weber State

Finally a category where there wasn't clear separation. Interestingly 5 stupids thought a 16 would never beat a 1, but only 3 stupids picked no one for the team to pull it off

4. How many instances will there be of players recording a triple double in the 2014 tournament? (cartman)

11 - one
9 - zero
6 - ten
3 - five
1 - twenty
1 - 6

Most stupids thought there would be few or no triple doubles

5. How many times will Jim Boeheim be shown picking his nose on TV during the 2014 NCAA tournament? (Lathum)

13 - ten
8 - none
5 - five
3 - one
1 - six
1 - two

Stupid thinks we're either going to get 24/7 coverage of Boeheim knuckle deep digging for gold or the FCC is going to ban such images.

6. What team will win the 2014 NCAA tournament? (Lathum)

24 - Florida
3 - Arizona
2 - Louisville
1 - Kansas
1 - Duke

Stupid loves them some Gators

I wonder how many Coastal Carolina's came in after the pool was set?

My first instinct was actually Illinois but I didnt care to go look to see if they had actually won a tourny so I just took the easy out.

Congrats nol! Thanks Cartman!

Dang it, almost went with Illinois as well. Would have given me an almost perfect score (went with 0 triple doubles).

No #16 is ever going to upset a #1, EVER!

Of course they will. It has almost happened a few times and over time the numbers will make sure it happens.

Woo! I don't know if being this stupid as it relates to the tournament bodes well or poorly for my bracket.

I'm relatively new to IWS, and while I think I have a pretty good concept in my head that won't be too hard to come up with some questions for, it'd be nice to have a veteran who can check what I have beforehand to make sure the formatting's alright and the questions aren't something that's been covered in the past or well, just plain stupid.

edit: and also that I have submissions open for a decent amount of time

Dont sweat it. The questions will all work themselves out. The only real bad question would be a question in which everyone has the same answer which I dont think I have ever seen in this game.

Here's a post I made about 10(!) years ago on IWS "theory". Maybe it will help when you're thinking through questions:

I specifically waited for the brackets to make my entry, but I used Weber State :(
