Jellyfish was a colossal talent. Although they only released 2 albums, they influenced a generation of nu-power pop bands and led directly to spin-off bands such as Imperial Drag, Umajets, Moog Cookbook, The Grays, and the immensely talented Jason Falkner.

I agree. They were colossal.

What about Green Jelly? They were quite influential too.

They changed from Jelly to Jello at one point.

I think a shrink my family saw a few years ago said that his son was one of the band members (and that he had gone to Hopkins, I think?)

Gee, I thought I was the only one to make the link to the music band from that thread title. I have both CDs too :D Yeah they were great, they still are...

Can't remember any song titles at the moment. I'll have to dig them CDs from my oldies box sometimes...

Follow up...yeah, I think the Dr's name was Helsinger, and Gary Helsinger is listed as a former lead singer at http://www.ihategreenjelly.com .

Don't think I've ever heard any of their music though :)

I think they were originally Jello but got sued by the Jello company so they changed to Jelly. At least that's the story that I heard years ago...

Right now, I'm listening to "Lemon Jelly" at work. They are superior to all other "Jelly's" and "Jellyfishes"

Green Jelly actually had to change their name to Jelly from Jello after they got popular with that 3 Little Pigs song.

Jellyfish was amazing. Not Lame released a 4-CD box set last summer, all of their demos and live stuff. Well worth it if you are a fan. I'm on a Jellyfish mailing list that is still going strong 10 years after they broke up.
