A few quick questions.

What is the best way to negotiate contracts in FOF7? It seems like take it or leave it from the players. they just dont negotiate at all. is that correct?

Also, what is the best strategy for cap management? is there a discussion around this on FOF central? anywhere on the net?

Thanks.

When extending a player, you need to meet their goals. You can shuffle some bonus and yearly money, but you still need to meet their value. You have more room if you go less years, but if you go more years you need to add money. Per-year bonus + first year salary (and salary needed to go up every year from there) was a general rule in 2k4, although the length of the contract does factor in (that first year salary may need to be more for a longer contract).

In Free Agency, it's all about what the market will bear.

For cap management, the trick is to know the value of the player, and not pay any more than that value. The hardest thing to do is let go of veterans that aren't worth their demands any more, and sometimes letting a guy hit free agency can be cheaper than extending him, but it's a risk. Or in other words, study the Patriots ;-)
