Not sure if I wanted to put this in the "I got a bike" thread or the "Strava/Runkeeper" thread, but eventually I figured to get the most audience I should create a new thread.

Please send healing prayers for my college friend, Edna. She was featured in this article (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/david-duran/everyone-has-a-story-equa_b_5435313.html) earlier this week about bicycling down California to raise awareness and money for AIDS/HIV. She's done this for many years now, but suddenly suffered a medical emergency in the middle of her ride. From her friends and families' posts on Facebook, I understand she had a heart attack and is in critical condition in Arroyo Grande. Please, pray for her and her husband, Richard.

For anyone going on a ride or run today, or just out for a walk, please put AIDS/LifeCycle rider #1371 in your thoughts.

I'm saddened to announce that Edna lost the fight and passed away around 10 am pacific time.

While I had lost touch with her after college, I reconnected with her through Facebook.by this time she had already been an active member of the community in raising awareness in AIDS/HIV. An avid runner and cyclist, she has inspired me to start running and to participate in community activities.

By looking at the posts on her Facebook wall, I know she leaves behind a legacy that I can never match, but only keep alive by continuing to run. My next 5k race will be dedicated to Edna.
