Cheers to the Captain for taking care of the passengers. Too many times it's all negative. It's nice to have positives to talk about. I'm sure the company will reimburse the captain for the pizzas. Well worth it for this story to break out.

I had a similar situation. We had diverted into somewhere east like Wilkes Barre-Scranton with JFK or LGA as our original destination. When we got there it was going to be a good couple hours before anything was going to happen. All the food options were closed , the terminal was closed and they didn't want to let our passengers off.

It took some convincing but we got operations to spring for pizza for our passengers and to let them get off the plane and be able to eat it in the gate area. It worked out.

The most common thing that gets bought and paid for is water. It just boils down to making sure you have what you need.

It is Frontier so I wouldn't say reimbursement is a given.
