Keeper league. Can keep a guy max 3 times before he becomes a free agent. No crazy rules about losing a pick in the slot you keep the guy.

I can keep Foles starting at 0 or Rodgers at 1.

Thoughts?

I will always take the guy with a proven track record over one with one year performance.

It's a tough call, but I'd say your best move is trading Rodgers to me for Andre Brown.

Need a tight end. Options are thing. Who would you take?

D. Allen, H. Miller, Toilolo, Walker, Cook

I like Jared Cook the best.

Start Sammy Watkins vs Miami or Ryan Mathews vs Seattle? I think I gotta stick with Mathews and hope he still gets touches and they don't go no-huddle with Woodhead early.

Still up in the air on flex this week. Lamar Miller, Justin Hunter, or Terrance Williams.

Lamar Miller seems to be the safe play. It's hard to bench a WR against Dallas's defense, though. Williams...just don't know what to expect out of him.

Hell, I could even throw in Shonn Greene in there, too.

Wish they'd call Brandon Marshall in or out. Being the night game, I think I just have to bench him. Don't have a monday night option there.

Heh. Benching Marshall didn't work out all that well for me. Did barely scrape a win out, though.

And this week's question...Sammy Watkins or Marques Colston?

Floyd was back to his old self somewhat last week.. Hard to tell what will happen with Stanton in there though. Fantasy football in general has been incredibly hard to read thus far in 2014. So many weird occurrences and major stars getting injured.

So, it's time to drop AP right?

BishopMVP
09-30-2014, 01:19 PM
So, it's time to drop AP right?Non-keeper league? Depends how deep a bench you have and what's on the waiver wire. Even if theres only a 20% chance he comes back Week 13 he's gonna be an RB1 if he does. Are there any potentially juicy handcuffs like Alfred Blue or Benny Cunningham available, or is it someone who even in the best case provably isn't worth starting? I really prefer to use the back half of my bench for high-upside players, figuring there's always a Jeremy Kerley-esque player available if I desperately need a starter who can get my 5-6 points.

Phillip Rivers vs the Jets, or Peyton Manning vs Arizona? I'm leaning Rivers - I just really liked that Arizona secondary, and figure Denver might lean on Ball.

Should I offer a trade of Shady McCoy for Philip Rivers?

Need more info. Scoring ? Who are your other backs? Who is available on waivers ? My instinct is no and see if you can give up less for a Big Ben type.

STL QB Austin Davis vs PHI or WAS QB Kirk Cousins vs SEA? Cousins burned me bad last week (got lucky to win that matchup anyway) and has a pretty poor matchup against a rested SEA. There is little on the waiver wire, but Davis intrigues me, especially against PHI, who has allowed the most points to opposing QBs (and he did well against DAL). Worth the move?

Lathum's question of who your other backs are is the big question here. Hard to give up a guy like McCoy, but you are getting a big QB in return - and if you have the RBs to make up the ground (you know McCoy will eventually pick it back up...), I think it is a good deal.

I say Davis.

It isn't like you are benching a top, or even mid level, QB. The Giants made Cousins look terrible, I can only imagine what Seattle will do.

I know his value is down right now, but I feel like giving up a top three player in all of fantasy football for a guy who isn't a top three at his position (maybe not even top five) isn't a good trade.

Upon further thought, I am not going to make the offer.

That said, this is my QB and RBs:

QB: Newton

RBs: McCoy, Frank Gore, Reggie Bush, Chris Johnson, Khiry Robinson, Bobby Rainey

I can trade Frank Gore for either Tony Romo or Ben Roethlisberger. I don't think that that's a great trade, but I am considering it.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Travis

Man, with that group of RB, the last guy I'd deal is McCoy, especially at a sell low moment. Philly has been down 2-3 of their starting OL most of the season so far and get one back next game (LT I believe). Could be a good time to sell on Gore as he's coming off a very nice day and hard to believe that Hyde won't get an expanded role as the year goes on.

Bush/Johnson/Robinson are all RBBC right now and Rainey seems to be in a holding pattern while Tampa looks to see if Martin can get back to being a dominant back. If not, then add him to the RBBC group.

Yeah, McCoy hasn't been his best to this point, but once he gets going, by far your best RB.

What QB are on the waiver wire?

albionmoonlight
10-02-2014, 10:48 AM
Alex Smith, Teddy Bridgewater, and Mike Glennon are the only QBs I'd consider on the waiver wire.

I did just put in a claim for Smith.

I would trade Gore for either Romo or Big Ben and role with Bush as your RB2. I would prefer Romo, he has always put up good stats and as they continue to run they will be able to take more shots downfield and he should get some big passing days.

Moreno's so injury prone, and Lamar Miller has been playing pretty decent ahead of him. I dunno how many carries he's gonna get over the long haul.

Ridley's rumored out for the season, which makes Vereen's value go up.

Standard scoring (non PPR):

Romo @ Chi or Stafford vs Det

Hyde @ Oak or Chris Johnson @ Min (I know - both suck but due to injuries it is what it is)

Close to the same boat, though I wound up making the playoffs thanks to total points tiebreakers. 2nd highest point total in the league, wound up 7-6. Highest points against by about 50. I actually looked. After our 3-0 start, every single team we faced topped their projected total by at least 15 points. Every week.

I keep telling people we're just hitting our stride at the right time of the year.

Though my god, my WR situation has been absolute misery. Marshall's been a bust, and I've been rotating through the scrapheap for a WR2 on a weekly basis.

Lost last week by 3 points to a guy who had Atlanta's kicker score 19 in the 4 PM slots to beat me.

So I have to win this week to make the big playoff money.

Here is my lineup:

QB Andrew Luck
RB1 Justin Forsett
RB2 Matt Forte
WR1 Brandon Marshall
WR2 DeAndre Hopkins
TE1 Kyle Rudolph
K Steven Hauschka
DST Colts

Bench:
QB Nick Foles (out)
RB Rashad Jennings
WR Mike Evans
TE Zach Ertz
K Shayne Graham
DST Arizona

Staying away from the Arizona defense right now thanks to their offense being neutered. My main questions are, I have played Evans the last 4 weeks, and last week was the first where he disappointed. Am I overreacting to Hopkins' big week by putting him in there, or can I reasonably expect Detroit's defense to shut Evans down?

Then, Jennings looked really good against JAX last week, but I saw he nicked his ankle. Plus, Miami didn't look that good against the Jets rushing, but will they overcompensate this week and shut down Forsett first?

Just wondering any thoughts.

Sadly, I'm not sure if Jennings is gonna go this week (I have him as well). And Andre Williams is horrible.

So I have the problem of too many viable WRs. I always end up seeming to leave my biggest performer on my bench. With the playoffs this week I want to get it right. I can start 3 of the following:

Julio Jones

Who do you think I start and who do I leave on the bench?

Gordon, Maclin and Jones. They are definitely your best 3 over the course of the season. The only one that gives me a little pause is benching Tate. He's been very good this year too, but at this point, you've got to roll with your 3 best players.

I'm suprised since you can only start three that you didn't trade one (excluding Gordon of course) off at some point. Would've been a huge haul for you.

I would go Romo; Evans and Beckham; and Walker.

SEA is not a high powered offense and is going 3000 miles east to play, so I figure a subdued game from Wilson (so that's why Romo).

Similarly, Maclin is likely to draw Sherman a lot, so go with the other WRs.

Walker over Reed for me is just about the Titans being worse on D than the Rams. Plus, I think the Rams are still trying.

I don't think Gordon is a no brainer at all. He still hasn't yet broken out yet since he started playing and the QB situation is a mess. Plus Crowell is running well, so I think the Browns are going to the run more.

I would go with Jones, Marshall and Tate. The Bucs don't have a great secondary and they will be trying to stop Megatron, so Tate has free reign in what should be a runaway game for the Lions. Jones is always good and ATL at home is pretty good offensively. Maclin is going against SEA, which is usually a bad WR matchup (and especially if he draws Sherman a lot). For me, it comes down to Marshall versus Gordon and I think tonight's game will be an offensive one, so go with Marshall.

Thanks to everyone for their advice. I have decided that CR's analysis feels right and am starting Marshall tonight. Still undecided for Sunday but think Tate is a likely against a weak TB secondary. Comes down to Jones, Gordon, or Maclin for the last slot and leaning towards Gordon now that Hoyer is the starter.

I am second in points for the league and have Luck, McCoy, and Forsett for QB and RBs. McCoy has underperformed but still never felt right to bring in a RB to supplant him and I couldn't extract the right value at TE (my weakest position) to make a WR trade worth it. My league also doesn't have much trade action so there's that.
