Surprised there's no thread for this. Held our draft tonight. Not...bad. Not great. Drafted 10th out of 12, standard league.

QB Andrew Luck
RB Marshawn Lynch
RB Rashad Jennings
WR Brandon Marshall
WR Marques Colston
TE Rob Gronkowski
FL Steven Ridley
DE Baltimore
K Shayne Graham
--
RB Lamar Miller
RB Shonn Greene
RB Darren McFadden
WR Terrance Williams
WR Justin Hunter
QB Johnny Football (yeah, this was sort of a joke, though Luck's bye isn't till 10, and I guarantee you he'll be starting by then)

That's a pretty good upside team. Luck and Gronk could end up being huge this season. I also like Graham as a kicker. And Marshall is a very good WR.

At some point Lynch will break down, but I've been predicting that for the last two seasons and have been wrong. The guy might really just be a beast.

Auction last night. Not too happy with my team, honestly. I found some value, but I did not get the players I really wanted. I was a bit too slavish to my budget. That let me get "value" on guys like MJD. But it also means that I will end up depending on guys like MJD.

LeGarrette's Blunt

QB Cam Newton
RB LeSean McCoy
RB Frank Gore
WR Marques Colston
WR Brandon Marshall
TE Zach Ertz
FLEX Reggie Bush
D/ST Saints D/ST
K Shayne Graham

BE Robert Griffin III
BE Chris Johnson
BE Vincent Jackson
BE DeAndre Hopkins
BE Maurice Jones-Drew
BE Wes Welker
BE Christine Michael

I keep waiting on this as well

Question- Am I crazy for considering benching Rodgers against Seattle this week in favor of Palmer? I actually have that combo in 2 leagues.

I approve of these choices. :)

My view is skewed. I'm spoiled running a 16-team league each year so every time I look at 12-team rosters, I say to myself that there's NO WAY those "top picks" end up on the same team. 12-team rosters always look stacked to me.

I was stoked to draft the likes of Brian Hartline or Kendall Wright to fight it out for my starting lineup, nevermind reaching for upside potential last round picks like Knile Davis or Lance Dunbar.

Considering? No. However, it's Palmer, and San Diego isn't a cupcake matchup. I dunno.

I wouldn't bench a top 3 guy unless you have a top 7-8 with a great matchup. IE, I might bench Rodgers for Foles against Jax or Kaepernick against Dallas. But, I wouldn't do for anyone you would *probably* have as a backup for Aaron.

Put it this way, in which situation would you feel worse: you bench Rodgers and he throws for 250 and 2 TDs while Palmer gets roughed up OR you play Rodgers and he goes for 200, 1 TD and 1 pick while Palmer throws for 250 and 2 TDs?

If I start Rodgers and he gets crushed so be it. I would feel far worse if I started Palmer and he crapped the bed and Rodgers was good.

I just hate the Rodgers match up. I have a feeling he is going to get knocked around.

Really like your first team. Geo Bernard and C. Patterson were two guys I was really high on. But I was, unfortunately, not the only person in my auction high on them, so I got overbid on both.

I had Bernard in two leagues last year and even with him splitting carries he still helped me win a few games.

I was two picks away from getting Patterson on Team 2. My Team 2 is in a league of people from LA area and Team 1 is with a bunch of Packer fans. Patterson didn't last in the league with LA people, but Packers fans greatly undervalued him IMO :)

OK. I'll get in on this.

My work team which is my only money league. I picked 10/12. All TDs are worth 6 points. 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, K, D, no flex, non PPR

QB- Rodgers, Palmer
RB- LeVeon Bell, Rashad Jennings, Moreno, James Starks
WR- D Thomas, Andre Johnson, Mike Wallace, Wes Welker
TE- Vernon Davis, Martelles Bennet
K- Viniatieri
D- St Loius, Houston

I got Welker really late, something like the 11th round, couldnt pass him up in that spot. Went ARod/ D Thomas at 10/ 14 and was happy to get Bell in round 3, the benefit of drafting with a bunch of Bengals fans.

Getting Rodgers in a 12-team league where passing TDs are worth 6 points is a really nice get.

I really think Bell ends up splitting carries almost evenly with Blount. Then again, I am one of those Bengals fans.

I think the Houston D is a nice dark horse defense.

Rashad Jennings, with the kind of upside he has I really like him. I am also wary of his long term viability. Moreno could take the Miami RB job potentially.

I like Rodgers to bounce back nicely this year, I think he is right up there in that tier with Brees and Manning. I just wonder if the drop off to guys like Stafford and Luck is enough to justify him being a first rounder. 6 point TDs does help though.

Andre Johnson could end up having one of those "fuck you, I produce with any QB" seasons this year, but I equally fear he could go the way of Steve Smith circa 2010.

Not a big fan of Colston as a WR. He might get you 1000 yards, but his lack of consistency will really hurt some weeks.

I have also gone from being really high on guys like Bernard at RB and Sammy Watkins at WR to being fairly tepid. I really think Jeremy Hill is going to snatch up the starring role in the Bengals backfield by season's end, and I am not sure if Watkins will get beyond his nagging injury issues enough to have a decent season, especially in the Buffalo offense.

On the reverse of that, Cordarelle Patterson seemed criminally undervalued in leagues I drafted in. I think I have him in almost all of them, and I got him fairly late in each one. He is going to have Percy Harvin type numbers I believe, no matter who is throwing the ball.

I think Josh McCown is an underrated late round QB option. His weaponry in Tampa is evident, Mike Evans made some real wow plays this pre season. He might be Rich Gannon reincarnated.

I think Brandon Marshall is about as much of a lock as you can get at WR, and I think Andrew Luck will certainly be asked to throw a lot in Indy this year. Their run game will force a lot of passing and he has a lot of weapons at his disposal. 4500 yards and 30 TD's is entirely possible, not to mention 400 plus yards rushing. Basically Dalton's 2013 numbers but with more running.

I can't see McCown doing much. He's moving from Trestman, who knows what to do with QB's, to Lovie, who is utterly clueless with QB's.

The team I drafted among my 10 leagues this year that I think has the best talent is the one I drafted in the CBS Wingman league.

12 teams, standard scoring except for 6 point passing TDs, no PPR

QB Peyton Manning (6 point TD's made me take him in the first round)
Ryan Tannehill

RB Andre Ellington
Zac Stacy
Danny Woodhead

TE Zach Ertz
Tyler Eifert

WR Michael Floyd
Keenan Allen
T.Y. Hilton
Steve Smith
Allen Hurns (Sleeeeeeeeeeper)

K Dan Carpenter, BUF (Big fan of kickers on teams that have trouble scoring TD's over kickers on teams that score a lot of TDs.)

DEF Bengals D

My thought is that Manning is a do or die pick. He has to be about 30-40% of my scoring to give me a chance to win consistently.

Ellington is limited a bit by the lack of PPR, but I think he can still put up McCoy like numbers in overall yardage if he stays healthy.

Stacy should be getting force fed the ball as St. Louis tries to win with ball control and defense.

Tannehill is on the verge of making a real name for himself.

Zach Ertz is a boom or bust guy, he could be Brent Celek, he could be a poor man's Jimmy Graham.

I'm banking on Keenan Allen to improve on last years numbers. He has great chemistry with Rivers and San Diego will be in some shootouts this year probably.

T.Y. Hilton will either get shuffled in with the other Colts WR options, or he could potentially be their top guy. Volume would suggest he should have a solid year no matter what.

Allen Hurns.. Did you see this guy in the pre season? He had 7 catches for 113 yards running with the 1's, and he played for his current OC in college as well. Another Colston? I doubt it. But we'll see. Once Bortles makes his way into the lineup, I expect things in Jacksonville to get real exciting.

I'm going to shut up now.

You may be right, he does have Glennon right behind him.. But something about McCown tells me he has a season or two in him, even with Lovie.

So we came up with an amusing little side/stupid league at work.

PPR, 7 starter slots - 5 QB/WR/RB/TE, 1 Kicker, 1 Defense.

Every week, the winner in the head to head picks one player from the loser's team. They claim that player, and trade away whichever player they don't want.
