Ok, so my wife and I took a Road Dog distillery tour during our last trip to Seattle. It was awesome fun and we fell in love with a new liquor from one of the distilleries, shochu from Sodo Spirits (Page not found | Sodo Spirits (http://www.sodospirits.com/)). It is a traditional Japanese liquor similar to vodka. Great news, right! Well, they are shutting down at the end of the month.
I am hoping to grab a few liters of their stuff before they close but I am not expecting to travel to Seattle anytime soon. Unfortunately the Washington law states that they cannot ship as they need to have a deal with a distributor, which they don't. So, we cannot order anything from here in Chicago. I don't have any contacts in the Seattle area so I thought I'd reach out to folks here.
PM me if you think you may be able to stop by their distillery which is located down on Occidental just south of the stadium.
Yes, this stuff is that awesome. Coincidentally Sodo Spirits was one of 2 distilleries in the US that made shochu.
