I kind of hated the first episode, well the first half. And then I think I got it, I just had to accept that it wasn't going to be family guy. But I think I'm in.

Anyone else?

I'm 4 episodes in. It's not laugh out loud funny but it's a decent enough 25 min entertainment on Netflix in the evenings.

I loved it. Took me a few to get into it, but the whole season ended up being pretty hilarious and surprisingly touching.

Halfway through the first and turned it off - will probably give it another shot.

Same here.

Same here.

That was my move, then last night I needed something to fall asleep to, and figured, here, this isn't funny, should do the trick. Au contraire.

You know I watch the whole first season looking forward to the second I feel like the show builds upon itself which makes it good in my opinion plus it has a story line to go with it so that's nice.

I actually watched the first few episodes of this, thought it sucked ass, and haven't gone back to it.. But I was railing on it in the subreddit devoted to the show and some people were kind enough to point out that the show really doesn't do much until about episode 4 or so. I guess I will give it another shot soon. Hopefully they are right.

Stuck it out, last few episodes are definitely better (although I didn't dislike the first ones).

So this got pretty poor reviews the first time around. I would say that it shifted focus quite a bit from Season 1 through Season 4. I just caught up with the whole thing, and would say that Episodes 11 in both Seasons 3 and 4 were some of the best TV I've ever seen.

Anybody stuck with this thing?

It's the greatest thing Netflix has ever done. I think more than a few of us have discussed it in various TV threads.

ISiddiqui's MLS takes are hot garbage, but we agree on Bojack. It's the greatest thing on television. (But it won't appeal to everyone.)

The Beatrice Sugarman episode was phenomenal. Loved Matthew Broderick as her father. This season has been the best overall season so far!

It's unfortunate that the first half of the first season is by far the weakest of the series. The show really hit its stride in the second half of season 1, and then from season 2 on it's one of the best shows on Netflix.

I really got into it as well. great show. Very well done.

Seems like this type of show is right up Will Arnettes alley.

The Sugarman episode was the best of the series so far. I'm only a few into season 4, and it's put some amazing episodes together. The Todd episode was brilliant, but so far, I don't think there's anything in the series that can touch the Sugarman episode.

You hear me Izulde?! Gotta give it another chance. It's totally up your alley.

It's the best thing on TV, and it it's a shame that so many people bailed early. It's a comedy, but it is most definitely not a comedy.

The silent episode underwater was one of my favs :)

A friend talked me back into watching it. I barely got through the very first episode 3 years ago and dismissed it.

He was on me about how good season 3 was, and how season 4 picked right back up there in quality.

He was right. Who knew the most realistic and gut wrenching portrayal of depression and addiction would be a Netflix cartoon that was likely conceived as mainly a Hollywood farce.

Episode 11 of season 4. Just wow. As I told the same friend, this show really knows how to pull off a character arc.

I just started watching this year and was told flat out to push through the first half of season 1 because it will get amazing. I think that's the reason people don't talk a lot about it, the reviews for the first season were pretty poor and a lot of people either didn't bother to start watching or stopped watching.

You're absolutely right about the depression thing, it hits it spot on, but there are so many layers on top of that.

And count me in as the underwater episode being among my favorites, the voice box reveal had me in stitches.

I just finished it but the only weak part would possibly be

the mister peanut butter governor race...but that was all satire. The whole exwives things was kinda funny. And I did like the back and forth with Diane throughout the campaign but yeah the governor races was more of the comic relief to bojack's depressing life. Altho the zings to his mother countered the empathy of how he knew he was messing things up with his daughter. Man that plotline was so beautiful. Yeah Mr PB is only used in silly comic relief. I hope they come up with a way to make him and todd less of that altho I do like where they've taken todd as a character.

and my other favorite episode was the 2nd one...when Patton Oswald played Neil Mcbeal the Navy Seal :)

Lots of fun in that one.

Just watched "Stupid Piece of Shit". What an excellent, excellent episode. Right up there after "The 'Ol Sugarman Place".

I know, right?

I love how they keep changing up the animation style and basically the whole formula/structure of the show. Reminds me of how M*A*S*H kept doing that.
