The app is in the final testing, and barring any unforeseen bugs, I'll submit the game by Sunday night! I showed the game to a colleague of mine, who said, "Dang, man, you need to release this thing!"

Because I haven't been able to fully test the three new formations (Pistol, Wildcat, and No Back), I may pull those out for this first release and deliver those in the first patch. Expect an update pretty quickly. I work very closely with users to get requests in, fix bugs, and add improvements nearly monthly.

The first update should have the new formations and player fatigue at a minimum, but this way I can get the app out there in your hands!

I'll also start work on finalizing the Career Play immediately with the player fatigue and new formations.

Jimbo, my schedule is to get this release out on iOS, then Career mode, and then Android, because the conversion is the hardest and I'd like to do the conversion once to include Career Play. I wish I could get it all done faster, but I'm definitely targeting the Android this year! Thanks, I haven't forgotten!

Hey, a guy on FB asked a good question about stat tracking, so let me explain the different match ups available in PSF 2014.

One, you can play a "Quick Game" (also known as a "Scrimmage" game in earlier versions). This is just a pick up game, not tied to any season or career. Good for messing around and choosing any two teams. Plus you can create your own scenario (hey, if you haven't done that yet, I encourage you to, it's fun creating a scenario where you're behind in the fourth quarter in the snow!)

Two, you can play a "Single Season" game. This is where you can play the 2014 season as many times as you want, selecting any scheduled game - although you can't select from a week until all the previous weeks have been completed. You can have the computer simulate any game or week.

Three, you can play "Multiplayer" through Game Center - and yes, I hope to be off Game Center at some point, and I see that Google has a new option that's cross-platform! This is a "pick up" game where you can play your body across town or across the globe! I play my brother quite often with this.

Fourth, and new in PSF 2014, will be the Career games. This is just like Season play, except you will be coaching throughout multiple seasons. Again, you can Sim your match ups if you prefer. The idea here is to coach your team through a season, see who retires at the end, go through a draft, and pick up the next season. Your focus is still on coaching the players.

That brings me to Stats. If you haven't checked out the Stats in PSF, you should. While I'll add Defensive and Special Team stats in the future, PSF has tons of offensive stats (including QB Ratings in PSF 2014 per users' requests). In addition, the game tracks match accomplishments (your HB breaks 100 yards rushing or scores three TDs, etc).

And if you play a season game, the game tracks every players offensive stats and achievements, as well as team achievements. And you can view team and player season leaders and sort them.

AND in the upcoming Career Play, you'll be able to view Team history, player history, leaders, etc. You'll be able to drill down into any season of the career, check out career leaders, etc.

I hope you'll enjoy all these options!
