View Full Version : Survivor FOFC: The Final Event

Now we are down to the final 2 in our own game of Survivor:
Kodos and Ardent Enthusiast
Who will be the sole survivor?
Now all of the former contestants who were voted out will vote to see who wins the grand prize (the awe and respect of the entire FOFC).
Before we vote though, each of the voters first must ask a question or make a statement to each of the two finalists. If you don't do so then you will not be elegible to vote.
The two contestants MUST answer every question, and at least respond to a statement.
If you are not satisfied that the contestant answered your question sufficiantly, you may request a fuller answer.
All questions must be asked by the end of the day Monday.
All answers must be posted by the end of the day Tuesday.

My statement/question for Kodos:
Kodos, i want you to admit the following things to the group:
1) you are secretly the Dallas Cowboys' #1 fan
2) You watch Dallas on TV every Sunday during the NFL season in hopes that they will return to their glory years under Jimmy Johnson
3) Your Bill Gates anti-Dallas dynasty is really just a way for you to express your guilt over your extreme fanatical love of Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys.
As part of your response, you must express, in your own words, exactly how much you truly love the Dallas Cowboys.
I think if you can come out and admit these things to the group, then it just may well be enough for you to win my vote. :D

2) Colossal Squid
3) God
4) Erik Flamebeard of the Neither Here Nor There
5) Dean Houston

My question is the same for both contestants:
How can I be so skinny, yet live so phat?
Your answers to that question will be the sole basis for my vote. Good luck.

Dear Radii. I despise the Cowboys, and even my desire to win this competition cannot allow me to lie about that. They are the most evil sports franchise in the history of the world. Jimmy Johnson is evil personified. I [would] love [to see] the Dallas Cowboys [suffer through a century of Bengals-esque misery] more than anything else ever!
There we go. One vote for ardent, 15 to go! :p

Dean Houston would run and cower in fear at the first sign of danger, so he is out. Erik Flamebear of Neither Here Nor There, while certainly a force to be reckoned with, would succuumb to the Colossal Squid after a formidable battle of epic proportions. Lemmy would lose, simply because anyone named Lemmy is destined to lose at everything. That would leave God vs. the Colossal Squid. Alas, as colossal as the squid may be, he is no match for our Lord. God would go medieval on the Colossal Squid's ass, and it would be over quickly. There you have it. God wins.

My question for Ardent is a simple one:
You won the final challenge and chose to take Kodos to the finals over me. It is the one time in the entire competition where one player openly has the sole decision on who to kick out.
Given that, why in the world would I want to vote for you to win? :)

John, I believe the answer to this apparent paradox can be found in the ancient texts of W.H. Specifically, you have learned to love yourself, and that is the greatest love of all. With such inner strength and peace centering the core of your existence, you are able to live la vida loca, just as another skinny yet phat man lives it himself.
Yes, John, you are the Ricky Martin of FOFC. God bless you.

My question goes to both contestants.
In the original Survivor TV show, Susan (in a rant that made reality TV history) referred to the final two contestants as a rat and a snake.
Between the two of you, which is which? and why? :)

I would have said I didn't have a favorite until yesterday. That's when I discovered "Beer on the Pier". That's right, I discovered that beer actually will make your supervisor(s) friendlier and downright likeable.
Chosen beer of supervisor? I think it was Fosters.

Coffee, despite the many arguments you may have, I'll have to stick with my "God" alliance. I believe He can defeat the Colossal Squid and Erik Flamebeard, although I believe Erik would be a mighty obstacle.

That's a tough question. I'm assuming that's an old school type question because the last time I remember phat being used in a sentence was in reference to Gilbert Brown (he's phat with a "p", or something to that extent).
Therefore, I'll have to answer it this way, and hope that I have satisfied you.
"How can I be so skinny yet live so phat? Ya wanna know why? Cos I'm THE MAESTRO!"
John G, I hope I got that one!

Radii, I think my question may have been harder than the one Kodos fielded.
I'd hope you'd vote for me to win based on the circumstances. I wasn't the mastermind of the alliance in the Dolamite tribe. I didn't have a plan at all until I was approached by SplitP. I started off this game actually volunteering to take one for the team when the moment arrived.
I won't lie, and others like Split and Vexroid can attest that I started formulating a plan soon after joining the alliance. My goal was to take Vexroid and SplitPersonality to the final three.
Couple the fact that I've been to sea for the past two months. The past two months I've had to live with a less than reliable internet connection and a less than reliable alliance (seeing Vexroid go hurt, as I figured Split had "split" on me).
Yet somehow, based off alliance voting and the Dolamite dominance in Tribe immunities contests, I remained.
I was at peace with leaving after hearing you took immunity a few challenges back. I figured that Kodos, Marmel, and Split were a lot tighter than I was.
I had not received any messages from those three about what we were doing, and I knew I was up. I didn't try to stir the coals. You didn't hear from me asking for help. Neither did Kodos.
Instead, Kodos wrote me about taking out Marmel. What did I have to lose? If I vote for Marmel, and it was throw me off...I'm out of the game. If I vote for Marmel and it was to knock Marmel out, then I live another day in the game. Fortunately, it worked for me.
I emailed Marmel after the Kodos proposal and asked who to vote for or if we should use our conscious (sp?). I can't access my email right now, but the answer was something to the extent that it'll be a tough tribal council because one of the four of us would have to go. Then he mentioned I should vote for Kodos. He threw a smilie in there too, if I'm not mistaken.
With good fortune, Marmel exited. Kodos and I created a strong bond in the regard we shared just about all our info we had from previous messages. We decided how we'd vote the next round, regardless of who won immunity. We knew unless Split won immunity, he would be next.
Split exited, and then it was the three of us. Kodos and I knew that we couldn't win in the final against you, and we both agreed that we'd eliminate you if either of us won the final. I couldn't win because if anyone was the quiet one behind the scenes, it had to be you. You made it darn near to the end!
I can't tell you how many times I hoped you would finally go offline so that Kodos or I could take the immunity.
Why should you vote for me? Because I've earned it!

Dang Split. That's hard!
I'll say that Kodos is the snake, but probably for a different reason than you would think.
Kodos felt pressure that he may go. He felt like he had to protect himself. Our ship flies a flag called the Gadsden Flag. It has a snake and is inscribed, "Don't Tread On Me". Kodos felt threatened and instead of running or conceding, he took action. He went on the attack. I can respect that.
That leaves me as the rat. I guess you can call me that. I had no plan, but others did. You invited me in. I accepted, and like a rat I suppose, I started scheming. You know that full well.
Once we got to five left, I jumped ship instead of trusting you not to vote for me. Turned out to be a good move on my part, but sucked for you and Marmel.
I hope I've answered your question well enough!

If in the first question I can't say Kodos, then I suppose I'll answer with Vexroid. I kept Vexroid as a silent partner with Split...hoping at some point to dislodge Split, Vex, and myself from you and Kodos. Vex as I recall didn't like it, but I promised to protect him. It's unclear to me whether or not our "secret alliance" was kept that way by Split. With hindsight, I could see how Split possibly told you about it.
Vex didn't like the idea, but was willing to give it a shot. I ended up not being able to protect him.
Who would I least like? I'd say that's a dead heat between Radii and Split. Both seemed to work their magic quietly. Between them, I'd hate to face Radii. I'm sure he'd beat me if he were here.

Oh I meant simple as in, was a pretty easy question for me to ask and was rather straightforward on my part. Kodos' question if he thought I was really screwing around with him he might have interpreted many ways. Maybe if he gave in and did everything I asked him to I would have said I'd never vote for him because he's pandering so badly, etc. ;)
I'd pretty much made up my mind who I would vote for if I wasn't in the finals even before the last challenge was over anyway

Ahh, the peace treaty is over, eh? Alrighty.
I stuck with Dan Marino's Dolphins for his entire career. I am, in fact, loyal to him to this day, and thus the end of my rooting for the Cowboy-infected Dolphins. It had nothing to do with their record. I have never switched from a team because of a losing record. I root for the Indiana football Hoosiers, after all.
I stopped rooting for the Dolphins because I have a moral opposition to Jimmy Johnson and his method of bringing in any criminal who he thinks might perform well on the football field. I have no doubt that he would gladly field a team with O.J. Simpson, Rae Carruth, and Ray Lewis, Mike Tyson, Charles Manson, and Adolph Hitler, if he thought they would win him a championship. The man has no scruples, and no conscience. The funny thing is, he brought in all the felons (Cecil Collins, anyone?), and his Dolphins teams still sucked. If not for benefitting from the Walker trade, he would not have enjoyed most of the success he had in Dallas. He is a waste of carbon.
And yes, I realize you are not actually a survivor contestant. I just thought I'd answer your question anyhow. Good day. :)

I'd have to agree with ardent on this one. Even though he had planned to get rid of me earlier (while acting friendly to me in e-mail) (kinda snake-like), it was the resident alien who ultimately spearheaded the ouster of Marmel, and by association, yourself. I would have been happy enough voting ardent off in that round, but I got a creeping feeling that Marmel and you were moving to get rid of me. I conferred with ardent, and he let me know that Marmel had said to vote for me. If Marmel had told him to vote for you, I wouldn't have broken our alliance. But Marmel said to vote for me. My only option was to go on the offensive at that point, or accept getting voted out without a fight. I approached ardent and Radii about getting rid of Marmel, who we all perceived to be trying to run the show. I guess all of us felt outside of the Marmel-Splits alliance, and we acted together to survive. But I was definitely the driving force behind the plan. That'd make me the snake. Ardent was just the rat who went along with the snake.

I'd rather have John Galt sitting next to me, since he was the only person who did worse in the popular voting than I did. No offense to John, of course. :)
Edit. Oops. Forgot the second part of your question. I would least want to face splits. He was definitely under the radar, and I don't know that he ever got any votes in the public polls. Basically, going against Splits would mean certain defeat. :)

Your favorite football team is WVU. I pick 50 as my number.
I deserve your vote because I participated in every challenge that I could (I was out of state without computer access for one week), and I was an asset to my team. I also did a good job of surviving despite being a high-profile target. It was much easier for ardent to go unnoticed and sneak toward the final, as evidenced by my repeated "wins" in the popular vote.
Also, ardent did a lot more trash-talking against the Dean Houstons than I did. Go back and look if you don't believe me. :)
Finally, it would be a wonderful thing for inter-planetary relations... :p
That's all I got. Happy voting!
Swaggs, sorry I've had net problems. Dang it.
If you're talking pro ball, it's the Steelers. By the ton of message traffic you generate, you're a WVU fan for life.
My number is 1.
As for your answer, I basically answered that in Radii's question. Why should you vote me? In a nutshell, because I've "survived". I've had a lot tougher go at it than Kodos.

My take, 6-7, but much more success than UTEP has seen over the years.

So, do we vote once out question has been answered, or are you going to do a separate thread for final voting? Or does it not matter?

I will start a seperate thread. If you want to cast your vote now, I guess you can, but if you are still on the fence, it may be helpfull to see the other answers.

I think that we've lost some people here.

That is what I figured would happen. Mostly it is the people who were voted off early, so it kind of fits with the way the real game is played. if they don't ask a question, no problem, we will just go on without them.

When asked, "How can I be so skinny, yet live so phat?"
Kodos replied:
John, I believe the answer to this apparent paradox can be found in the ancient texts of W.H. Specifically, you have learned to love yourself, and that is the greatest love of all. With such inner strength and peace centering the core of your existence, you are able to live la vida loca, just as another skinny yet phat man lives it himself.
Yes, John, you are the Ricky Martin of FOFC. God bless you.
And Ardent Enthusiast replied:
That's a tough question. I'm assuming that's an old school type question because the last time I remember phat being used in a sentence was in reference to Gilbert Brown (he's phat with a "p", or something to that extent).
Therefore, I'll have to answer it this way, and hope that I have satisfied you.
"How can I be so skinny yet live so phat? Ya wanna know why? Cos I'm THE MAESTRO!"
John G, I hope I got that one!
While I feel that Ardent's answer overall was pretty weak and Kodos captured the spirit of the question more fully, the phrase, "Yes, John, you are the Ricky Martin of FOFC" frightened me to my very core, so I vote for Ardent to win. I may like the sound of living "la vida loca," but I still hate Menudo for interrupting my childhood cartoons, and for that the alien must pay.

You know, you are supposed to PM the votes to me so that it doesn't influence the other voters.

The time to ask questions has come and gone. The voting period will begin shortly.
Who will be the sole survivor?
