Just wondering how much debt some of the other teams are in?
My team just dipped to 250K in the hole. I used some money I didnt have to buy some players and my team is playing well so Im not looking to sell anyone just yet. Also 3 out of my next 4 games are home games so I might be able to chip at my debt.

I am currently -270k in debt. I believe the most I ever was -560k in debt but for only a few moments untli my keeper sold.
I'm at -$179,654. This is the best for me since Feburary I think.

$65k in the red, but I have a solid keeper on the wire, so I regard it as a temporary condition...

Due to my impatience, boredom and itchy finger I think I'll always be straddling that -200k line.

Following the Dataking school of thought that "Debt is evil", I've so far been lucky enough to avoid it. Although I will admit I've been tempted a few times to grab a high ticket player that would push me over the edge in winning my series. Been lucky enough toresist those urges up to thsi point.

I am 10k in the black...and my schedule sucks ass. I have a perfectly mirrored schedule...home-away-home-away. So perfectly mirrored, in fact, that after this league game, I play the same team two weeks in a row before going back to play the team I play this week again. In the first half of the season, all my away games were against the top four teams. So my home crowds sucked because I was usually coming off a loss. Next half, though, I get the pansies away and the toughies at home, so it should be some good crowds :)

I'm about £100,000 in debt. I hope to get out of debt either by getting lucky with a youth pull or by selling my best player (once I've got my trainees to the point of being workable replacements).

I was -$498k in debt, and had been at -$400k for 3 weeks before that. I sold off my keeper trainee and a youth pull last week though, to finally make some headway. I'm now at -$170k, and quite happy my interest payments are less that $20k weekly again :)

I was once in debt, but after the sale of "He who shall not be mentioned for fear of making CW or sterling mad" I got out of it. I have now vowed never to go back into it. Now I have 51k in the bank.

I'm about $2,000 in debt, but it'll get worse next week (no home game) unless my keeper on the wire sells for a ton more than he's really worth.
I was over $400,000 in debt once... but part of that was due to a fine that I got overturned, and the rest I cleared up with player sales after going on a buying binge (I made money on most of them).
Okay - Let's turn the tables here. Since so many of us FOFCers are in debt... What are some pointers in making money/staying out of the red?
I know one thing is to win more games and make your arena bigger, sell players, and win your league.
But what's the best method to make money in the long run?
Data King, I'd like your response because you seem to be doing the best amongst us and still maintaining solid players.
I really need some pointers. :P

I'm about $77k in the black. I was in debt to tune of ~$80k at the end of last season, but was lucky enough to be in a weak series and got the 1st place prize money. Haven't been in debt since, and hope to stay out of it.

I will be about 90K in debt at tomorrow's weekly update. Was at roughly 300K under only 4 weeks ago but I sold two passable keepers (my starter and an inadequate trained to passable in a week), a trainee mid who had just popped to passable (for 75K while worth only 40K!) and one of my initial stud (passable def/passable playmaking but 24 year old) for another 75K and I rationalized by expenses so now I'm back on track...
Reasons for my debt: stadium upgrade and a witch hunt for the perfect coach that left me with 10 fired coaches and still only a passable one :(

Was in the 300-range. Made some sale and some nice gate receipts at the beginning of the season brought it down into the 70-range. Should be back into the 200-range again as of this update.

I'm at + $69,500, would be $159,500 but I tried for a solid coach....and failed :( Already upgraded my stadium and got out of debt in 2 weeks though :)
I'm at +80K - Looking to invest 50K in a player or two

I think one of the keys to keeping your team financially solvent is to manage your expenses wisely. There is a limited amount you can do to alter your income, as a good deal of it has to do with luck. Winning the majority of your matches can be difficult if you land in a tough series (luck), poor weather can reduce the crowds you see at home matches (luck), etcetera.
Expenses, on the other hand, are almost completely under your own control, particularly your staff and specialists. During my first season, I kept my staff at a level where, assuming average crowd turnout for home matches, income and expenses would be roughly even over a two-week stretch (one home league match).
By doing this, my gradually rising sponsor money slowly turned into regular profit, which I in turn put back into my staff and specialists. Also, by keeping the balance sheet even over the course of two weeks, anything else that came along (youth pulls worth money on the transfer market, unexpectedly large crowds in a league match, etc) was gravy that could either be saved (for future arena expansion) or spent on the transfer market to improve the talent level of the club.
Manage your expenses wisely, resist the urge to go nuts on the transfer market (I still have to restrain myself from time to time), and put together a good training program as soon as you can (18 year old inadequates are cheap). These things will help you out in the long run. As Billy NYC said in his dynasty report, Hattrick is a marathon, not a sprint. Get yourself set up for the long haul.
I hope this helps, and let me know if any of it requires extrapolation.

I appreciate the response DK. But what does "extraolation" mean? :(
I am guessing Further Explanation but I'm not too sure. I would look in a dictionary but I don't have one at my disposal that is within reach at the moment.

Have been debtfree for about 5 hours now, don't know for how long it'll stay that way :)
