View Full Version : Issue Joining New Multi Player League

Hi,

I have an issue when trying to join a new league that I haven't encountered before. Initially I followed the set up for the league and everything went well until after downloading all the league files and selecting the League Id from the menu I got an error message that the data wasn't correct so the league wouldn't load. I tried going through the start up a few times but got the same message.

It was then found that a couple of files were missing from the league data and they need to be added. I added those files and then went to find the League ID in the multiplayer menu but it was no longer there. At some point during my trying to get set up correctly it disappeared.

Now despite deleting everything and starting from scratch again I cannot get the Multiplayer League Id to appear in the game and I'm on the latest version. All the files should be correct as I know one other person has managed to join the league since I started trying.

Can anyone help me? I've followed all the instructions numerous times and never had this issue when setting up/joining other leagues.

Cheers.

Are you attempting to join the league during the offseason?

If so, there are two files that are required but aren't published to the server during offseason exports. These are the .frc and .fpx files if I recall, but don't quote me. I guess this wasn't addressed in the latest patch, or maybe you are having a different issue than what I am thinking. What I don't understand is how the League ID disappears from the multiplayer menu.

More or less, I believe your league commissioner has to provide those files manually. When we came across this issue, we changed the order of our instructions ( Setup Guide - Sim Gaming Network (http://simgamingnetwork.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17261)) from this:

-"Enter new career"
-"Import Initial Game Files"
-"Download ZIP file manually with EOS files"

to this:

- "Enter new career"
-"Download ZIP file manually with EOS + FRC + FPX files"
-"Import Initial Game Files"

In order to make it offseason proof. I don't know how other leagues address it, though. Did the other guy who tried to join the league, join during the season?

The missing files were my initial issue as it is the off-season. However, they have been added now so I should have all the correct files.

My problem now is I cannot get the League ID to appear in the Multiplayer window in FOF7. It was then when I was missing the files and somewhere along the line of the set up being fixed it has disappeared and the game now won't seem to let me set it up again.

Is there something I need to reset? I have deleted all the data/files and tried to start again from scratch but cannot get the League ID to (re) appear.

Check RDFL P.M, might be the answer.

Ah -- if all of the necessary *starter* files are there, perhaps you haven't clicked "Import Initial Game Files" yet from the Multi Player Menu?

I believe you need to do this first, and only then will the game file itself appear in the "Open" menu. This is the stage where you enter the password for your team and so on.
