I was down by 3 at the time
have I missed something in the game plan setting (which to my knowledge I haven't touched) ?

or is this a bug?

You probably have your max FG setting lower than 46 yards.

It was set at 45 (would that cause a punt on the opponents 29 though?) i've raised it now

It was set at 45 (would that cause a punt on the opponents 29 though?)Yes. FG distances are 17 yards from the spot. (7 yards for the snap, 10 yards for the goal posts being in the back of the end zone.) A FG attempt with the ball on the 29 would have been a 46-yarder.

I was just seeing a 29 yard punt and forgetting to add on the snap and endzone
