When you have one WR who is much better than the rest of your corps, it has been common place to put him inside. Purpose being to avoid the double coverage, as for whatever reason the game then over looks him.

My question is, how effective is this strategy? It looks a great strategy on paper but has never worked for me. Is the stud reduced in effectiveness by playing inside perhaps?

Normally the slot receiver runs shorter routes than the split ends. Think about how Wes Welker was used by the Pats to run those five yard outs or just run to an open spot on the field. I don't know enough about the new version of FOF to know how this works in the game.
