Rules
You pick five teams from this year's NCAA Tournament field. Points are awarded based on how far each of your teams advance, with bonus points given based on the team's seed. You get one point for winning in the Second (formerly first) round, 2 for the Third Round, 3 for the regional semis, 4 for the regional finals, 5 for the national semifinal, and 6 for the national championship. Then, for each game your team wins, you get points that match the number of seed they are.
For example, say you picked Kentucky (a No. 1 seed), and they advanced to the Final Four. You would get: (1+1) + (2+1) + (3+1) + (4+1) = 14 points for selecting the Shockers. Or, if you pick Albany, and they win 2 games, they would get (14+1) + (14+2) = 31 points.
As you can see, a well placed 10+ seeded team notching an upset or two is just as valuable as a 1 or 2 seed going to the Final 4.
First Four games do not count towards any point totals.
Good luck, everyone! Any questions, just post them here. Post your picks here, too.
If you want to change your picks, just edit your post. Any posts with an edit time of after Thursday, noon Eastern will be ruled ineligible.

Sublime shattered the game points record last year by picking 7 seed UConn and 8 seed Kentucky, who both made the final, and Dayton the surprise 11-seed Elite 8 team. With 63, 55, and 39 points respectively, Sublime didn't really need the extra 18 points he got from Michigan State.

Scoring update after first weekend... It appears that Wichita State is the common denominator here... with only 2 of the top 10 not picking the Shockers.
Still a tight race going into the second weekend, with mauchow holding a slim lead, but Vince holding the most teams of anyone remaining. I'm the only player out of teams, so that's awesome.

I wonder how much variation there would be if the team picking process was done via pm.. seems like nearly everyone had Wichita state..

Although I pay attention to who the others are picking in the Starting 10 game, for this one it's all gut for me.

I will be out of touch until after the Final 4. Next scoring update will be that Monday morning... It'll be a surprise to some of us at that time.

With nobody having Duke or Wisconsin, it looks like this year's competition is over. And we have our winner!
We have our second lowest winning score of all time, 82 points. Every single player had a team score zero points, which also speaks to the lack of major upsets in this tournament.
If you didn't have Michigan State, you were out, as the top 7 players all had the Spartans.
But it came down to the power of Utah and Wichita State just barely squeaking past UCLA.
Congrats to Vince, Pt. II who foiled Lathum's attempt to become the first repeat winner!

Good showing for my first year. Kind of a bummer I didn't hit on either of my upsets, otherwise I may have had a shot.
