August 2017
SG Jaybard Riley- Michigan St., Pitt, Marquette, Vandy, and Memphis are interested in the services of Jaybard, but no offers yet.
SG Quikshot Collins- Georgetown has offered, but they are 3rd on the list right now. Also on the list are Pitt, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Michigan St.
C Ariel Ginsberg- Georgetown has also offered him, but they are 4th on his list. Villanova, UConn, Temple, and Boston College are the other 4.
PF Path Twelve- Oregon St., Oregon, Portland are the top 3, but none have offered. Also on the list is Portland St. and Washington who both still have offered.
SG Thomas Magnum- Oh no, here we go again! Thomas has lost all interest from his schools. Crazy!
PG Mike Schaplowsky- Wichita St. would be Mike's dream to go to, but Colorado St., Northern Colorado, Colorado, and Wyoming are also in the mix. No offers yet.

September 2017
SG Jaybard Riley- Michigan St., and Marquette are the top 2 now, both have offered. Cincinnati is 5th with an offer. Pitt and Vandy round out the top 5, but neither have offered.
SG Quikshot Collins- Pitt, North Carolina, and Georgetown have all offered, and they are the top 3. Tennessee and Michigan St., no offers yet.
C Ariel Ginsberg- The only changes in the top 5 are that UConn is now #1 on the list, and Villanova is 2. But still, Georgetown is the only offer.
PF Path Twelve- 5 teams have now offered and are fighting for the services of Mr. Twelve... Portland is at the top, followed by Oregon, Washington, Oregon State and Portland State.
SG Thomas Magnum- Still nothing for Thomas, I am not liking this at all. You can't tell me that a 2 star recruit can't get some looks, even if he is from Hawaii.
PG Mike Schaplowsky- There is a new frontrunner in the services for Mike.. UMKC, and they have offered. Kansas State is second now, followed by Tulsa, Wichita State, and Northern Colorado.

October 2017
SG Jaybard Riley- Jaybard has given a verbal to Tom Izzo and Michigan State, so unless something crazy happens, Mr. Riley will be a Spartan next season.
SG Quikshot Collins- It looks to be between Pitt and North Carolina for Qwikshot, as both have offered.
C Ariel Ginsberg- Georgetown has moved up to #2 on the list, and they are still the only offer. UConn is still #1 but hasn't offered. The 3 through 5 are Villanova, Temple, and Boston College.
PF Path Twelve- A new school has come up with an offer, the Zags of Gonzaga. It looks to be between Portland, Oregon, and Gonzaga, with Portland holding the lead for whatever reason. Possibly a playing time issue.
SG Thomas Magnum- Hey! Clap clap for Thomas. Bruce Pearl and the Auburn Tigers are now showing interest. No offer yet, but it is promising that Thomas is getting some looks again.
PG Mike Schaplowsky- It looks as if Mike may become a Wildcat, as Kansas State has offered and are in front of UMKC now. Tulsa, Wichita St., and Colorado are still in the mix, but none have offered.

This is where I stop for the night, as it's been a long day, and it's bedtime for me. Hopefully I'll get some responses before I jump back into this, as it could be sometime tomorrow. I'm sure the 6 recruits are very eager to see where they end up!

November 2017
SG Jaybard Riley- Jaybard made it official by signing with Michigan St., our first recruit to test the Big Ten waters.
SG Quikshot Collins- The Pitt Panthers have gotten an LOI from Quikshot, who is looking forward to the challenges of the Big East.
C Ariel Ginsberg- We've got a rivalry brewing between recruits, as Mr. Ginsberg has signed with Georgetown, which means he and Qwikshot will get quite acquainted with each other. Apparently there is already a twitter war going around in which Quikshot promised to posterize Ariel. Ohh boy!
PF Path Twelve- It looks to be between Oregon and Portland for the Path of Twelve (sorry, couldn't resist.) Since Oregon has jumped out in the lead, surely Path will become a Duck soon? And no, not the Mighty Ducks, just the Ducks.
SG Thomas Magnum- Ah, this is more like it. Now Thomas is finally getting some decent exposure. He has been offered by Marshall and Loyola-IL, but Indiana St., Idaho St., and Delaware are in the mix as well.
PG Mike Schaplowsky- In the end, a chance to stay in his home state was too good to pass up. Once the Shockers dropped their interest, Mike went ahead and signed with his second choice, the Wildcats of Kansas State. I for one am very happy with where my recruit is going. :)

This is the part of the season where I await responses. It's time to look at the depth chart and see where everyone lies. I'll do this by conference order, so as to make it easier. As always, we start with the depth chart before training camps.
Before Training Camp, no redshirts yet
C Jace Hunter (Xavier)- Jace is projected to be the starting center.
PF Eden James (Boston College)- Eden has slipped a little bit, projected 6th on the depth chart.
C Ralph King (Duke)- Ralph is 13th on the depth chart.
SF Chester Smith (Maryland)- Chester is 14th on the depth chart.
SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse)- Jack is 10th on the depth chart.
PG Benton Gale (High Point)- Benton is 8th on the depth chart.
C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State)- Rudy is projected to be the starting PF.
PG Al Mighty (Houston)- Al is 6th on the depth chart.
SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV)- Ricardo is 8th on the depth chart.
PF Ivan Carrillo (Arizona State)- Ivan is projected to be the starting center.
C David Ginsberg (Army)- David is projected to be the starting PF.
PG Randy Rodgers (Auburn)- Randy is projected to be the starting PG.
PF Bam Jamison (San Francisco)- Bam is 14th on the depth chart.
After Training Camp- CPU decides redshirts
C Jace Hunter (Xavier)- Jace is still projected to be the starting C, so no point in him redshirting.
PF Eden James (Boston College)- Eden is projected to be first off the bench. He could be redshirted, but BC would risk him transferring if they put the redshirt on him.
C Ralph King (Duke)- The game itself redshirting King, so I would say the redshirt is the way to go with him.
SF Chester Smith (Maryland)- Yikes! Chester is expected to be the top bench warmer this season for the Terps, listed last on the depth chart. Unfortunately Chester has used his redshirt season, so it looks like he is stuck.
SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse)- Jack is listed 10th on the depth chart. He could redshirt, but there is a possibility of him transferring if he does.
PG Benton Gale (High Point)- Benton is listed 7th on the depth chart. He has the option to redshirt, and I checked it closely, the email listed Benton as one of the players who would not transfer if redshirted.
C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach St.)- Rudy is listed as the starting PF. Since Rudy is a recruit I made, he's playing!
PG Al Mighty (Houston)- Al is listed 6th on the depth chart. Since he redshirted last season, he apparently has no choice but to play this season, even though he is a transfer. When I highlighted his name the redshirt option was unavailable. Interesting.
SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV)- It appears that studying is not Ricardo's strong suit, as he has been suspended for the first half of the season because of academics. Now, that could very well change once I get everybodys answers as to whether they want to redshirt their players or not, because I'm not saving things as they are now. Either way with the redshirt last year, he has to play this year.
PF Ivan Carrillo (Arizona State)- Ivan is projected to be the starting C, and since he has already redshirted, he has to play.
C David Ginsberg (Army)- David is listed as the starting PF. He could redshirt, but he would most likely transfer, and I don't see the point since he's projected to start.
PG Randy Rodgers (Auburn)- Randy is listed as the starting PG and since he has already redshirted, he has to play. That shouldn't be a problem since he's a starter.
PF Bam Jamison (San Francisco)- The computer itself has redshirted Bam, so that is definitely the way to go.
Now, some of you have decisions to make for your players. I will hold off on this until I hear those decisions, but I can't wait forever. If I haven't heard from you by the end of the week, I'll have to make the decision for you. So come on folks, get those decisions in! lol

Ugh! I had a nice long post typed up on the first week of the season, and when I sent it, nothing was there. I'm pissed now. Fortunately I saved the game, so all I have to do is go back and re-type the post, which I will do a little bit later.

ok, I have no idea what is going on, my post for Nov. 5-13, 2017 is showing up as a blank when I send it. So I guess I'll just move on, and if my next post does the same, I may be in trouble with this dynasty. Something is messing up

Nov. 5-13, 2017
This post has 8 days in it because the season actually starts on a Sunday, and I can't see wasting a post just for 2 games, so here we go.
JR C David Ginsberg (Army)
No games this week for David and the Cadets.
RS SO C Jace Hunter (Xavier)
11/9/17- Preseason NIT First Round vs. (13) South Alabama (W 76-68), 16 points, 8 rebounds, 3 blocks.
11/11/17- Preseason NIT Quarterfinals vs. (5) Notre Dame (W 78-69), 10 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 blocks, 2 steals.
Great start for Jace and the Musketeers. Jace had a heck of a game against Notre Dame.
RS SO PG Randy Rodgers (Auburn)
No games this week for Randy and the Tigers.
RS SO PF Ivan Carrillo (Arizona State)
11/5/17- Coaches Invitational First Round vs. (10) Miami (OH) (L 78-63), 9 points, 5 rebounds.
Terrible start for the Sun Devils, but Ivan looks like he is ready to turn the corner.
SO PF Eden James (Boston College)
11/7/17- GDS Classic First Round vs. (15) Georgia Southern (W 84-50), 7 points, 11 rebounds, 1 block, 2 steals.
11/9/17- GDS Classic Quarterfinals vs. (7) Rutgers (W 54-44), 4 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 steal.
Eden has been huge off the bench for the Eagles so far, leading his team in rebounds both games so far.
RS FR SF Chester Smith (Maryland)
11/12/17- Paradise Shootout First Round vs. (8) Marshall (W 98-75), DNP (Coaches Decision).
Poor Chester! It's gonna be a long season for him. Being last on the depth chart, the only way he's going to see minutes is if a lot of people get injured or underperform. I hate that he used his redshirt already.
RS FR PG Al Mighty (Houston)
11/6/17- College Classic First Round vs. (2) #8 UCLA (W 86-82), DNP (suspension).
11/8/17- College Classic Quarterfinals vs. (1) #12 Florida (L 75-46), DNP (suspension).
Houston could have used Mr. Mighty in that Florida game. I'm hearing through the grapevine that grades are part of the reason Al left Oklahoma State. I hope he figures out that the athlete part of student-athlete is a privilege that can be taken away anytime. Get it together Al!
RS FR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV)
11/5/17- Coaches Invitational First Round vs. (11) Davidson (W 78-57), 4 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal.
11/6/17- Coaches Invitational Quarterfinals vs. (14) Holy Cross (W 78-69), 9 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist.
11/12/17- Coaches Invitational Semifinals vs. (2) #4 Oklahoma (L 85-74), 7 points, 1 rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal.
A decent debut for Ricardo, as his Rebels got a break in the quarterfinals, getting to play the 14 seed instead of the 3 seed. They also put up a good effort against a top 5 Oklahoma team.
FR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State)
No games this week for Rudy and the 49ers.
FR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse)- redshirting
11/6/17- Travelers Invitational First Round vs. (4) Green Bay (W 89-57)
11/8/17- Travelers Invitational Championship vs. (2) #11 Oklahoma State (L 79-68).
Tough loss in the ship for the Orange, they'll have to bounce back from that one.
FR PF Bam Jamison (San Francisco)- redshirting
No games this week for Bam and the Dons. Man I love that nickname. Da Dons!
FR C Ralph King (Duke)- redshirting
No games this week for Ralph and the Blue Devils.
FR PG Benton Gale (High Point)- redshirting
11/12/17 vs. Eastern Michigan (L 82-73)
It's gonna be tough for the Panthers, not a lot of talent there. Hopefully they'll be able to get it going.

A lot of teams still in this poll, many of them yet to play a game. I guess the mid-major voters have the attitude of you're in until you lose. Nice to see Xavier with 8 first place votes in this poll.

Nov. 13-19, 2017
JR C David Ginsberg (Army)
11/16/17 vs. Sacred Heart (L 69-61), 14 points, 10 rebounds, 1 block (double-double)
Great start to the season for David, who posted yet another double-double. Tough start for the Cadets.
RS SO C Jace Hunter (Xavier)
11/18/17- Preseason NIT Semifinals vs. (1) #11 Kansas (L 76-53), 6 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks.
Unfortunately the Musketeers didn't show up to play against Kansas, Jace included. When he fails to get double digits, Xavier usually loses.
RS SO PG Randy Rodgers (Auburn)
11/17/17- Island Invitational First Round vs. (7) Appalachian St. (W 82-61), 15 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists, (POTG).
11/19/17- Island Invitational Semifinals vs. (3) Missouri St. (L 71-69, OT), 13 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals.
Randy is putting up some solid numbers to begin the season, getting his name in 3 major stat categories consistently. Unfortunately, the Tigers couldn't hold on to a late lead against Missouri St. and fell in OT.
RS SO PF Ivan Carrillo (Arizona State)
No games this week for Ivan and the Sun Devils. In fact, they have a long layoff, not playing again until the 23rd.
SO PF Eden James (Boston College)
11/16/17- GDS Classic Semifinals vs. (3) Kansas St. (W 68-45), 3 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal.
11/17/17- GDS Classic Championship vs. (1) #8 Ohio St. (W 79-77), 1 rebound, 2 assists.
11/19/17 at Rutgers (W 65-52), 8 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks.
The Eagles are the first team to win a preseason tournament championship among our FOFC teams, although Eden struggled a bit this week. He is still a solid role player for this team though.
RS FR SF Chester Smith (Maryland)
11/14/17- Paradise Shootout Semifinals vs. (4) Alabama (W 95-74), DNP (Coaches Decision)
11/16/17- Paradise Shootout Championship vs. (2) #6 Pitt (L 65-60), DNP (Coaches Decision)
11/19/17 at Sacred Heart (W 99-66), DNP (Coaches Decision)
Dissapointing that Chester didn't at least get into the Sacred Heart game. I'm not sure what Turgeon is thinking sticking a guy at the end of the bench and ignoring him. Wouldn't be surprised if we have a transfer after the season.
RS FR PG Al Mighty (Houston)
11/15/17 vs. Stephen F. Austin (W 68-59), DNP (suspension).
Al wasn't even at this game, my understanding is that he was getting caught up on all that homework he has been putting off. He definitely wants to be out there to help his team.
RS FR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV)
No games this week for Ricardo and the Rebels.
FR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State)
11/17/17 vs. UCLA (L 88-49), 2 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block.
11/19/17 at Colorado St. (L 63-62), 6 points, 10 rebounds.
Heartbreaking loss for Rudy and the 49ers at Colorado St., they played a very good team very tough. But on the bright side, Rudy had a nice double figure rebounding game to build on.
FR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse)- redshirting
11/18/17 at Bucknell (W 85-48)
Easy win for the Orange as a lot of people played in this one.
FR PF Bam Jamison (San Francisco)- redshirting
11/15/17 at San Jose St. (W 60-57)
11/17/17 vs. Cal St. Northridge (L 95-94, OT)
11/19/17 at UC Santa Barbara (W 76-65)
Not a bad week for the Dons, who were 1 point away from a 3-0 start.
FR C Ralph King (Duke)- redshirting
11/16/17- Maui Shootout First Round vs. (8) Rider (W 87-72)
11/17/17- Maui Shootout Semifinals vs. (5) San Diego St. (W 90-47)
11/18/17- Maui Shootout Championship vs. (2) #10 Texas (L 90-80)
The Blue Devils just ran into a buzzsaw in Texas, but still a good start for Duke, while Ralph sits and observes.
FR PG Benton Gale (High Point)- redshirting
11/14/17 vs. George Mason (L 68-54)
11/19/17 at Davidson (W 69-61)
A road game at Davidson would be the last game I would expect the Panthers to win, but nonetheless, a good 1st win of the season.

JR C David Ginsberg (Army)
11/20/17 vs. George Mason (L 87-53), 4 points, 8 rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal.
11/22/17 vs. UMBC (W 67-59), 19 points, 18 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, 2 steals, (double-double), (POTG).
Holy cow, David went off against UMBC! If he puts up even half of those numbers every game, he'll be in the running for some awards. It's too bad the rest of the team didn't show up against George Mason though.
RS FR C Jace Hunter (Xavier)
No games this week for Jace and the Musketeers.
RS SO PG Randy Rodgers (Auburn)

11/26/17 vs. East Tennessee St. (W 95-77), 20 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists, 4 steals, (double-double), (POTG).
My oh my, Randy was just 3 boards away from a triple-double against E. Tenn. St! Incredible performance, and a great week for the Tigers.
RS SO PF Ivan Carrillo (Arizona State)
11/23/17 at Charleston Southern (W 88-67), 25 points, 7 rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal (POTG).
Ivan went off in the Sun Devils' only game of the week, earning the POTG. Now we are getting a glimpse of the player he really is, and I hope it keeps up.
SO PF Eden James (Boston College)
No games this week for Eden and the Eagles.
RS FR SF Chester Smith (Maryland)
11/22/17 at Morgan St. (W 97-63), DNP (Coaches Decision)
Tough luck for Chester, who failed to get into this game too. Come on Coach Turgeon, give the guy a chance!
RS FR PG Al Mighty (Houston)
11/23/17 at Kansas St. (W 86-71), DNP (suspension)
11/25/17 at #3 Texas (L 98-63), DNP (suspension)
Nice win for Houston against K-State, but a major flub against Texas. Al continues to bust his butt in the classroom to get eligible.
RS FR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV)
11/22/17 at Idaho (W 87-75), 11 points, 1 steal.
11/24/17 vs. NJIT (W 87-68), 1 point, 4 rebounds, 1 assist.
11/26/17 vs. Fresno St. (W 75-73), 9 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist.
Great week for the Rebels, although 2 of the 3 games were against subpar competition. Ricardo is still trying to get adjusted to the college game, but I have a feeling a breakout game is upcoming.
FR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State)
11/25/17 vs. California (L 83-71), 11 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist.
Give credit to the 49ers, they are playing a tough schedule among West Coast teams, and they did cut a 29 point halftime deficit down to 7 at one point. Rudy had a decent game, but his coach wants more.
FR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse)- redshirting
11/20/17 at VMI (W 88-55)
11/23/17 vs. Iona (W 92-67)
A couple more blowout wins against subpar competition.
FR PF Bam Jamison (San Francisco)- redshirting
11/23/17 vs. Cal Poly (L 73-54)
Those are not the kind of losses you want if you're a Don, but Cal Poly appears to be a decent team.
FR C Ralph King (Duke)- redshirting
11/23/17 vs. George Mason (W 75-58)
The Blue Devils hand Mason their first loss, in convincing fashion too.
FR PG Benton Gale (High Point)- redshirting
11/23/17 at N.C. State (L 60-52)
A respectable effort against a Wolfpack team that is still undefeated.

JR C David Ginsberg (Army)
11/28/17 at Fordham (W 67-50), 0 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, 1 steal.
12/1/17 at Seton Hall (L 69-56), 2 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal.
12/3/17 at Penn State (L 71-61), 10 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, (double-double).
David finished the week off in style with yet another double-double, but I'm sure he would trade that in for a couple more Cadet wins on the week.
RS SO C Jace Hunter (Xavier)
11/28/17 at High Point (W 72-53), 12 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 blocks, 1 steal.
12/2/17 vs. Old Dominion (W 69-64), 6 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks, 1 steal.
2 wins for the Musketeers, and I'm sure Jace is a little disappointed with his performance against Old Dominion, but he had a solid game at High Point.
RS SO PG Randy Rodgers (Auburn)
11/30/17 vs. Troy (W 80-71), 22 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, (POTG).
Just 1 game this week for Randy and the Tigers, but it was a big one, especially for Randy, as he lit it up again.
RS SO PF Ivan Carrillo (Arizona State)
11/30/17 at North Dakota (W 64-34), 7 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks.
12/2/17 vs. UC Riverside (W 66-57), 13 points, 5 rebounds, 1 block.
Couple more wins for the Sun Devils, who need as many as they can get before conference play. Ivan had decent showings, but not great.
SO PF Eden James (Boston College)
11/29/17 vs. Manhattan (W 92-67), 16 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals.
12/3/17 at Penn (W 78-55), 18 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal, (POTG).
Huge game off the bench against Penn for Eden, who scored POTG. If The Eagles roster wasn't so stacked, he'd be starting.
RS FR SF Chester Smith (Maryland)
12/1/17 vs. Hofstra (W 109-100), DNP (Coaches Decision).
You would think with that score that the game would have went overtime, but it didn't. It was just a shootout, 1 that Chester didn't participate in.
RS FR PG Al Mighty (Houston)
12/1/17 vs. Prairie View A&M (L 71-68), DNP (Suspension)
12/3/17 vs. Rice (W 70-54), DNP (Suspension)
Looks like the Cougars could have used Al against Prairie View. An embarrassing loss to say the least. Good job for them getting it together against Rice.
RS FR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV)
11/30/17 vs. North Carolina A&T (W 86-54), 2 rebounds, 1 assist.
Just the 1 game this week for the Rebels. Was hoping Ricardo would log more than just 12 minutes, but then again, he's gotta be productive when he's in the game, and he wasn't.
FR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State)
11/29/17 at Southern Utah (L 68-51), 2 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist.
12/3/17 at St. Marys (L 61-33), 4 points, 5 rebounds, 1 block.
The 49ers are still winless, and they aren't getting the kind of production from Rudy that they were hoping for. He's gotta pick it up.
FR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse)- redshirting
11/27/17 vs. Drake (W 87-79)
12/1/17 at Navy (W 85-54)
The Orange roll along against some not so good competition, surprising to see them struggle a bit with Drake.
FR PF Bam Jamison (San Francisco)- redshirting
11/30/17 at California (W 79-69)
12/3/17 at Fresno State (L 91-80)
Nice win for the Dons against Cal, too bad they couldn't finish it up at Fresno, but they'll take the split.
FR C Ralph King (Duke)- redshirting
11/28/17 vs. Old Dominion (W 79-45)
12/1/17 vs. Idaho (W 95-56)
The Blue Devils had no problem this week against lower level competition.
FR PG Benton Gale (High Point)- redshirting
11/28/17 vs. Xavier (L 72-53)
12/1/17 vs. Mercer (W 73-64)
12/3/17 at IUPUI (L 80-71)
Tough week for the Panthers, but at least they did get 1 win.

Recruiting
We've got 1 recruit that has yet to sign, so let's take a look at his progress:

JR David Ginsberg (Army)
12/5/17 at IPFW (L 64-41), 4 points, 4 rebounds.
12/10/17 vs. Yale (W 98-88), 10 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal.
Not the greatest week for David as he struggled a bit. The Cadets split on the week.
RS SO C Jace Hunter (Xavier)
12/5/17 vs. Detroit (W 78-67), 13 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks.
12/7/17 vs. Bradley (W 80-71), 28 points, 9 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 steal, (POTG).
12/10/17 vs. Valparaiso (W 62-50), 8 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 7 blocks.
Wow! Jace was a force in the paint against Valpo, blocking 7 shots, which is a career high for them. The Musketeers have a solid week against fairly decent competition.
RS SO PG Randy Rodgers (Auburn)
12/7/17 at Villanova (L 80-70), 4 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists.
Another 1 game week for the Tigers, who fell short against a tough Villanova team. Randy is starting to find his groove at distributing the basketball.
RS SO PF Ivan Carrillo (Arizona State)
12/6/17 vs. Northern Arizona (W 74-55), 7 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block.
12/9/17 vs. Central Arkansas (W 73-51), 7 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal.
Ivan was hampered by foul trouble against C. Arkansas and only played 19 minutes, but the production is starting to come. The Sun Devils had 15 steals in that game.
SO PF Eden James (Boston College)
12/7/17 vs. Hofstra (W 61-52), 5 points, 2 rebounds, 1 block.
12/10/17 vs. Northeastern (W 80-63), 4 points, 6 rebounds, 3 blocks.
Not the greatest week for Eden, who seemed to be going through the motions a little bit. The Eagles stay undefeated but haven't played any really tough competition lately.
RS FR SF Chester Smith (Maryland)
12/8/17 vs. Drexel (W 87-78), DNP (Coaches Decision)
Another game on the bench for Chester, and the Terps struggled just a little with Drexel.
RS FR PG Al Mighty (Houston)
12/5/17 vs. UL-Lafayette (W 111-88), DNP (Suspension)
12/10/17 at Baylor (L 91-80), DNP (Suspension)
The Cougars can put up some points, no doubt about that. Al is getting some great advice on the sidelines, as he continues to hit the books hard.
RS FR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV)
12/8/17 vs. UC Riverside (W 75-48), 5 points, 1 block.
Just the 1 game this week for the Rebels. Ricardo played 10 minutes and didn't do much.
FR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State)
12/6/17 at Pepperdine (L 72-68, OT), 4 points, 12 rebounds, 1 block, 2 steals.
Heck of an effort by the 49ers, as they actually led by 6 at halftime. They probably would have won had Rudy done better than 1-7 from the field. Come on big boy! You gotta hit those shots in the lane!
FR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse)- redshirting
No games this week for the Orange.
FR PF Bam Jamison (San Francisco)- redshirting
12/6/17 vs. Sam Houston State (W 87-67)
12/10/17 vs. Pacific (W 80-71)
Nice week for the Dons against decent competition.
FR C Ralph King (Duke)- redshirting
12/4/17 vs. California (W 90-82)
12/7/17 at Elon (W 68-36)
12/10/17 vs. UNC Wilmington (W 69-63)
A little surprised to see the Blue Devils struggle with UNC Wilmington, but nonetheless, a 3-0 week has Coach K feeling good.
FR PG Benton Gale (High Point)- redshirting
12/7/17 at East Tennessee State (L 75-61)
Just the 1 game this week for the Panthers, a loss against a good E. Tennessee team.

Xavier moves up 2 pots, as does UNLV. Hopefully the Musketeers will start getting some mid-major FPV if they keep winning.

Dec. 11-17, 2017
JR C David Ginsberg (Army)
12/15/17 at Penn (L 73-69), 7 points, 7 rebounds.
12/17/17 at Harvard (W 58-48), 13 points, 16 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal, (double-double), (POTG).
Huge game for David in the Cadets' win over Harvard. He was the team leader in points, rebounds, and assists. A few more points and rebounds and they probably would have beaten Penn too.
RS SO C Jace Hunter (Xavier)
12/17/17 vs. VCU (W 100-73), 6 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists.
Jace had a disappointing game in the Musketeers only game of the week. He battled foul trouble all game and only saw 16 minutes of action.
RS SO PG Randy Rodgers (Auburn)
12/12/17 at Illinois (L 69-46), 5 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal.
12/16/17 at #22 Michigan St. (L 83-61), 9 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals.
Tough week for the Tigers, who lost against 2 solid Big 10 teams. Randy had pretty solid games all around, leading the team in assists both games.
RS SO PF Ivan Carrillo (Arizona State)
12/11/17 vs. Northern Colorado (W 67-61), 6 points, 4 rebounds.
12/14/17 vs. NJIT (W 77-70), 10 points, 10 rebounds, (double-double).
The Sun Devils really needed double digit wins against both of these teams, but at least they are winning. Ivan had a nice game against NJIT with a double-double.
SO PF Eden James (Boston College)
12/14/17 vs. Fairfield (W 62-32), 8 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks.
Just 1 game this week for the Eagles, another easy victory. Eden continues to dominated off the bench, leading the team in rebounds and assists.
RS FR SF Chester Smith (Maryland)
12/12/17 vs. Manhattan (W 94-61), DNP (Coaches Decision)
12/15/17 at Fairleigh Dickinson (W 106-75), DNP (Coaches Decision)
Unbelievable! 2 blowout wins and Coach Turgeon can't even find a way to get Chester in the game? Ridiculous. At this point I'd almost like to see Chester transfer.
RS FR PG Al Mighty (Houston)
No games this week for the Cougars, who get to enjoy a little bit of a break. A decision on Al's playing future could come by the time Houston plays another game.
RS FR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV)
12/12/17 at Texas-Pan American (W 64-42), 13 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist.
12/15/17 vs. Weber St. (W 90-64), 2 points, 2 assists, 1 block.
12/17/17 at UC Davis (W 58-39), 2 points, 2 rebounds.
The Rebels had a great week with 3 wins, but Ricardo saw his minutes decrease throughout the week. He needs to get some consistency in his playing time if he's going to improve.
FR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State)
12/13/17 at San Diego (W 81-64), 6 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist.
12/15/17 at Northern Arizona (W 61-45), 12 rebounds (injured during game).
The 49ers get their first 2 wins of the season, but it came at a cost. Rudy was injured during the Northern Arizona game. The official diagnosis is Patellar Tendanitis, and it will keep him out for about a month.
FR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse)- redshirting
12/14/17 at Bryant (W 69-60)
12/17/17 vs. Minnesota (W 89-79)
The Orange struggled a little bit after almost 2 weeks without a game. I'm sure the road trip to Bryant didn't help either. A win is a win though, at this point.
FR PF Bam Jamison (San Francisco)- redshirting
12/13/17 vs. Cal St. Fullerton (L 80-49)
12/17/17 at Portland St. (W 75-67)
You can bet the Dons want to forget about that Fullerton game as quick as possible. At least they rebounded to beat Portland St.
FR C Ralph King (Duke)- redshirting
12/14/17 vs. VCU (W 75-42)
12/17/17 at Davidson (W 65-51)
VCU and Davidson are 2 mid-major teams that are usually very good, but this season neither one of them are playing up to potential. Still, the Blue Devils were impressive.
FR PG Benton Gale (High Point)- redshirting
12/12/17 at Hawaii (W 66-65)
12/15/17 at Virginia Tech (L 58-53)
It was almost a great road trip for the Panthers, as they came very close to upsetting VA Tech. The fact that they beat Hawaii helps out a little bit though.

It was bound to happen sooner or later. The non-conference SOS caught up with Boston College, and they've lost their #1 ranking. As long as they stay undefeated though, they'll be up there in the top 2 or 3. Maryland stays put again, while Duke, Syracuse, and Xavier all move up. And UNLV and Arizona St. get some votes from the media.

Hello Xavier! The Musketeers are now #1 in the mid-major poll, but barely. UNLV moved up 4 spots. It is great to have such great representation from our FOFC teams in both polls. Now if I could only get that in my Interactive Coaches Dynasty.

How are you guys liking the week by week format for this? Since this is more on the players, would you like to see me change it somehow to see more info about the players in some way? Or do you like seeing your teams results and rankings and such? I do plan on showing player cards at the end of the month.
What else would you guys like to see? If you are ok with the format, I'll keep busting the weeks out as often as I can. If you'd like to see something specific, feel free to let me know.

JR C David Ginsberg (Army)
12/20/17 at Hofstra (W 91-69), 10 points, 16 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, (double-double).
1 game this week for the Cadets, and it was another win. David had another double-double, but was outdone by his frontcourt mate for POTG award.
RS SO C Jace Hunter (Xavier)
12/20/17 at St. Francis-PA (W 87-58), 31 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks, 1 steal, (double-double), (POTG).
12/23/17 vs. Wagner (W 78-63), 19 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 blocks, 1 steal, (double-double), (POTG).
What a week for Jace, albeit not against the greatest of competition, but still, 2 double-doubles and 2 POTG awards is impressive no matter what.
RS SO PG Randy Rodgers (Auburn)
12/18/17 vs. Alabama St. (W 85-52), 6 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists.
12/21/17 vs. Southern Miss (W 84-68), 15 points, 4 rebounds, 9 assists, 4 steals, (POTG).
12/23/17 vs. Georgia St. (L 85-83), 10 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals.
2 points separated the Tigers from having a perfect week, and I tell you, if Randy keeps messing around, he's gonna end up with a triple-double at some point.
RS SO PF Ivan Carrillo (Arizona State)
12/23/17 at New Mexico St. (L 69-63), 6 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal.
Just the 1 game this week for the Sun Devils, and they came back to earth a little bit with their second loss of the season. Ivan had a good game, he's turning into a pretty good player.
SO PF Eden James (Boston College)
12/18/17 vs. Rhode Island (W 67-50), 4 points, 4 rebounds.
12/22/17 vs. Binghamton (W 84-63), 2 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks.
12/24/17 vs. Portland (W 89-53), 11 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal.
3 more wins on the week for the Eagles, pushing them to 13-0. Eden didn't have the best of weeks, as Portland was his best game.
RS FR SF Chester Smith (Maryland)
12/19/17 vs. Longwood (W 100-51), DNP (Coaches Decision)
12/21/17 vs. #6 Georgetown (W 90-81), DNP (Coaches Decision)
12/24/17 vs. American (W 83-73), 1 minute of action, no stats.
By George, we have a Chester sighting! Although he only played 1 minute and didn't get in the stat book, maybe this is a cause for hope for more PT in the near future. The Terps got a big win against a top 10 team in Georgetown.
RS FR PG Al Mighty (Houston)
12/22/17 vs. Sam Houston St. (W 51-43), DNP (Suspension)
The Cougars get a victory after a 12 day layoff, still awaiting word on Al, but rumor has it he will make his college debut in January.
RS FR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV)
12/24/17 at SIU Edwardsville (W 104-74), 9 points, 2 rebounds.
Just the 1 game for the Rebels this week, a convincing win. Ricardo almost got to double figure scoring, but not quite.
FR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State)
12/18/17 at USC (L 75-55), DNP (Injured)
12/21/17 vs. Loyola Marymount (L 61-48), DNP (Injured)
Tough week for the 49ers without Rudy, as they lost to a couple good West Coast teams.
FR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse)- redshirting
12/20/17 vs. Morgan St. (W 103-87)
Easy victory for the Orange in their only game of the week.
FR PF Bam Jamison (San Francisco)- redshirting
12/21/17 vs. ECU (W 83-49)
12/24/17 vs. UC Davis (W 58-38)
A couple easy victories for the Dons this week.
FR C Ralph King (Duke)- redshirting
12/21/17 vs. Appalachian St. (W 86-60)
Another FOFC team with only 1 game this week, and it was an easy victory for the Blue Devils.
FR PG Benton Gale (High Point)- redshirting
12/20/17 at Oakland (L 84-72)
12/23/17 vs. Radford (W 73-66)
The Panthers got conference play started right with a win over Radford at least.

We've got some flip flopping going on here as well, as the Musketeers fall back to 2nd in the mid-major poll, while UNLV stays put at 10th.
My guy is doing ok on rebounds, but besides one game, he is not performing good enough neither on scoring and on blocking.

I like the format so far. Good work!
The only thing is that, for those of us on teams that are not ranked, it's hard to keep track of how many wins and losses we have. I don't know if that is too much extra work for you (and please, tell me if it would be!), but if it's not too much, listing the wins-losses for the teams, a la the Coaches Dynasty, would be nice. That's all, though. Everything else is perfect.

Dec. 25-31, 2017
JR C David Ginsberg (Army) -- 5-8, 0-0 Patriot.
12/25/17 at Rhode Island (L 62-46), 2 points, 8 rebounds.
12/30/17 at #21 St. Johns (L 79-68), 2 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block.
The Cadets hung tough against St. Johns, even though they didn't pull out the victory. Not the best week for David. I think he was enjoying Christmas dinner a little too much. :)
RS SO C Jace Hunter (Xavier) -- 11-1, 0-0 Atlantic 10.
12/26/17 at VMI (W 66-54), 12 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal.
Just the 1 game for the Musketeers, as Jace slipped a little, but still a good job overall. Unfortunately, his season is over, as while he was busting butt on the court, he wasn't busting his butt in the classroom, and has been suspended for the rest of the season due to academic performance. Ouch!
RS SO PG Randy Rodgers (Auburn) -- 6-6, 0-0 SEC.
12/27/11 vs. #14 Butler (L 91-85), 11 points, 2 rebounds, 8 assists.
Great effort by the Tigers in their only game of the week, even though they fell short. Randy had a nice game, really dishing the ball well.
RS SO PF Ivan Carrillo (Arizona State) -- 8-3, 1-1 Pac 10.
12/28/17 at Washington State (L 61-50), 7 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist.
12/30/17 at Washington (W 75-69), 12 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal.
The Sun Devils overcame a 13 point halftime deficit to beat Washington, and they'll take the split for the week. Not a great week for Ivan, but it wasn't terrible either.
SO PF Eden James (Boston College) -- 13-0, 0-0 ACC.
No games this week for Eden and the Eagles, who actually get to enjoy Christmas with their families.
RS FR SF Chester Smith (Maryland) -- 12-1, 0-0 ACC.
12/28/17 vs. Delaware State (W 107-68), DNP (Coaches Decision)
Well that was short lived. Apparently Chester had a meeting with Coach Turgeon and let him know he was not happy at all about being the top bench warmer. Needless to say, the meeting didn't go well, and I'll be shocked if Chester sees another minute of court time at Maryland.
RS FR PG Al Mighty (Houston) -- 8-4, 0-0 Conference USA.
12/25/17 vs. TCU (W 78-44), DNP (Suspension)
12/29/17 at Texas A&M (W 79-56), DNP (Suspension)
2 big wins for the Cougars as they stay in-state to finish off the year. The big news though is the return of Al Mighty, who is off academic suspension and will make his debut next week. He won't start, but he should get good minutes off the bench.
RS FR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV) -- 11-2, 0-0 Mountain West.
12/29/17 vs. Cal Poly (L 69-68), 2 points, 1 assist.
Yikes! An embarrassing loss for the Rebels, and Ricardo might as well not have bothered to show up, as he did pretty much nothing in his short minutes. Just a tough week all around.
FR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State) -- 3-9, 0-0 Big West.
12/25/17 at Eastern Kentucky (W 64-55), DNP (Injury)
12/30/17 at Wyoming (L 69-37), DNP (Injury)
A split for the 49ers this week, and they'll take any win they can get right now. Rudy is expecting to resume training next week, and should get back on the court in about 3 weeks.
FR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse)- redshirting -- 10-1, 0-0 Big East.
12/30/17 at New Hampshire (W 92-44)
An easy road win for the Orange this week.
FR PF Bam Jamison (San Francisco)- redshirting -- 8-5, 0-0 WCC.
12/30/17 vs. Central Michigan (L 63-61)
Tough loss for the Dons, who end the month on a losing note.
FR C Ralph King (Duke)- redshirting -- 12-1, 0-0 ACC.
12/30/17 vs. American (W 84-63)
An easy win to finish off the month for the Blue Devils.
FR PG Benton Gale (High Point)- redshirting -- 4-10, 1-2 Big South.
12/28/17 vs. Charleston Southern (L 52-50)
12/30/17 vs. Coastal Carolina (L 77-70)
2 tough, close losses for the Panthers this week, who were really hoping to beat Charleston Southern, who came into that game winless.

Xavier has lost most of their FPV this week, and UNLV moves down a spot.
For those who want to see your player cards and stats, let me know. I'll do it by interest as opposed to doing every one. And I will do them at any point in the season, not necessarily at the beginning of the month. The reason I'm asking instead of doing them all is because of my limited free time and the fact I have many other projects going. So I'm not going to add stuff unless I have specific requests for it. I hope you all understand. Meanwhile, we do still have some recruit news to talk about.
Recruiting
SG Thomas Magnum- Thomas and Marshall just can't seem to get connected yet. Thomas is interested, Marshall is interested and they've offered, but for whatever reason, Thomas hasn't accepted yet. Come on Thomas, this is your only offer! Take it while it's there.

Recruiting
We've got 1 recruit that has yet to sign, so let's take a look at his progress:
SG Thomas Magnum- It looks like Marshall is the front runner as they are they only team showing interest, and they've offered a scholarship. Hopefully it'll just be a matter of time.
I must have missed this earlier, but did Path end up signing with Oregon or Portland?

Yikes! You didn't miss it, I did. Good catch! Path hadn't signed yet, but for some reason I thought he had. When I get back home tonight I'll check it out and let you know. Thanks for that man, I spaced out on that one. Who knows, maybe somebody besides Oregon or Portland got in the mix.

Yea I know, it's a bummer. I will probably manually edit everybodys academics to make them higher next season, as I really don't want any of our recruits to have to miss time because of an academic suspension.

Jan. 1-7, 2018
JR C David Ginsberg (Army) -- 5-10, 0-1 Patriot.
1/2/18 at LaSalle (L 65-47), 2 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks, 1 steal.
1/6/18 vs. Lehigh (L 74-51), 8 points, 12 rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal.
Tough week for the Cadets, who just got hammered in 2 games, including their conference opener. David broke a streak of 2 point, 8 rebounds games by getting 8 and 12 in the conference opener.
RS SO Jace Hunter (Xavier) -- 13-1, 0-0 Atlantic 10.
1/1/18 vs. Michigan (W 71-55), DNP (Suspension)
1/5/18 at SIU Edwardsville (W 94-75), DNP (Suspension)
Life without Jace begins this week, as the Musketeers hammered 2 opponents. In most years that Michigan win would be a good win, but this year the Wolverines are just 2-11 on the season.
RS SO PG Randy Rodgers (Auburn) -- 8-6, 1-0 SEC.
1/4/18 vs. UAB (W 69-52), 4 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals.
1/6/18 vs. Alabama (W 88-52), 17 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal.
Great start to conference play for the Tigers who rock an 11 win Alabama team. Randy finally decided to shoot the ball a little bit and had his highest point total in a while.
RS SO PF Ivan Carrillo (Arizona State) -- 10-3, 2-1 Pac 10.
1/4/18 vs. UTEP (W 69-44), 8 points, 4 rebounds, 5 blocks.
1/6/18 at #20 Arizona (W 64-57), 10 points, 9 rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal.
Great week for the Sun Devils who beat 2 solid opponents. It's been a while since they beat their in-state rivals. And Ivan wanted more blocks, so how about 5 against UTEP?
SO PF Eden James (Boston College) -- 14-1, 0-0 ACC.
1/1/18 vs. UMass (L 71-63), 2 points, 2 rebounds, 2 blocks.
1/6/18 at Harvard (W 66-53), 8 rebounds, 2 steals.
It's been a long time since Eden was held scoreless, but he was against Harvard, missing all 4 of his shots. And the Eagles are no longer undefeated, but no shame in losing to a good UMass team.
RS FR SF Chester Smith (Maryland) -- 13-1, 0-0 ACC.
1/3/18 vs. Winston-Salem (W 84-49), DNP (Coaches Decision)
I'll be honest, I have no idea where this Winston-Salem came from, I don't ever remember them being a D1 school, but they are listed as an independent. Of course, this report is being played with the teams and conference alignments from when the game was made, so maybe. Oh yea, as for the game, Chester didn't even suit up. Yea, it's bad.
RS FR PG Al Mighty (Houston) -- 8-5, 0-0 Conference USA.
1/2/18 vs. Texas Tech (L 69-54), 3 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist.
Just 1 game this week for the Cougars, a loss. Al had a rough debut, but it'll probably take him a while to get going.
RS FR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV) -- 11-3, 0-1 Mountain West.
1/3/18 vs. Utah (L 60-51), 4 points, 3 rebounds.
Definitely not the way the Rebels wanted to start conference play. Ricardo keeps struggling. Hopefully he'll pick it up soon.
FR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State) -- 4-10, 1-1 Big West.
1/4/18 vs. UC Irvine (W 60-56), DNP (Injury)
1/6/18 at UC Davis (L 75-71), DNP (Injury)
The 49ers should not be losing to teams like UC Davis, but it was at home. Still a little bit of time before Rudy comes back.
FR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse)- redshirting -- 10-3, 0-2 Big East.
1/3/18 vs. Cincinnati (L 76-66)
1/6/18 at #18 Georgetown (L 85-64)
Not a great way to start Big East play for the Orange. They'll have to get it going fast.
FR PF Bam Jamison (San Francisco)- redshirting -- 8-6, 0-1 WCC.
1/6/18 at Santa Clara (L 90-83)
The Dons are another team that don't start conference play very well this season.
FR C Ralph King (Duke)- redshirting -- 13-1, 0-0 ACC.
1/4/18 at Green Bay (W 87-49)
No problem here for the Blue Devils, who roll going into conference play.
FR PG Benton Gale (High Point)- redshirting -- 6-10, 3-2 Big South.
1/4/18 at UNC Asheville (W 76-65)
1/6/18 at Gardner Webb (W 77-74)
The Panthers are 1 of the few conference teams that didn't lose a conference game this week.

1/13/18 vs. Navy (W 74-65), 11 points, 12 rebounds, (double-double).
Great week for the Cadets with 2 wins, and how about David being a monster on the boards? He didn't get POTG either game, but he certainly helped his team.
RS SO C Jace Hunter (Xavier) -- 13-3, 0-2 Atlantic 10.
1/10/18 at Temple (L 78-54), DNP (Suspension)
1/13/18 at Dayton (L 99-72), DNP (Suspension)
The Musketeers are certainly missing Jace in the lineup, as evidenced by 2 brutal games. To their defense, those are 2 of the better teams in the A-10.
RS SO PG Randy Rodgers (Auburn) -- 10-6, 3-0 SEC.
1/8/18 at LSU (W 64-54), 15 points, 1 rebound, 4 assists, 1 steal.
1/13/18 at #13 Mississippi St. (W 82-63), 10 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists.
Great week for the Tigers, getting 2 big road victories, including the big one over Miss. St. Randy had a nice overall week as well.
RS SO PF Ivan Carrillo (Arizona State) -- 11-4, 3-2 Pac 10.
1/11/18 vs. Cal (L 87-79), 6 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists.
1/13/18 vs. #21 Stanford (W 77-48), 10 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist.
That was a huge win over a top 25 Stanford team, it's a bummer they couldn't get it done against Cal. Ivan is taking advantage of his opportunities to score, but he didn't have a block at all this week, that's something to take note of.
SO PF Eden James (Boston College) -- 16-1, 2-0 ACC.
1/10/18 at #2 Duke (W 76-63), 6 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 steals.
1/13/18 vs. N.C. State (W 77-41), 12 points, 5 rebounds, 3 blocks.
Good week for the Eagles, who have recovered from that loss. That win over Duke was big too.

1/10/18 at Clemson (L 84-81), DNP (Coaches Decision)
1/13/18 at Georgia Tech (W 79-68), DNP (Coaches Decision)
Rumor has it things have gotten so bad between Chester and coach Turgeon that he was asked to stay home on this road trip.

1/10/18 vs. Tulane (W 81-57), 3 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals.
1/13/18 vs. SMU (W 75-67), 11 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists.
Good week for the Cougars, and congrats to Al who got his first double figure scoring game of his college career.
RS FR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV) -- 13-3, 2-1 Mountain West.
1/10/18 at TCU (W 75-66), 3 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block.
1/13/18 vs. San Diego St. (W 68-53), 11 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal.
Decent game against San Diego St. for Ricardo, but the Rebels get back to their winning ways which is good.
FR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State) -- 5-11, 2-2 Big West.
1/11/18 at Cal St. Northridge (L 80-78, OT), 7 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, (Fouled Out).
1/13/18 vs. Cal Poly (W 65-63), 2 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal.
A big shock here, as Rudy came back almost 2 weeks earlier than expected, and he had a nice game against Northridge, although he did become the first FOFCer to foul out of a game in quite a while.
FR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse)- redshirting -- 11-4, 1-3 Big East.
1/10/18 at Rutgers (W 91-68)
1/13/18 vs. Marquette (L 84-62)
Tough week for the Orange who are not starting well in Big East play this season.

1/11/18 at San Diego (W 75-69)
1/13/18 at St. Marys (W 84-73)
Good week for the Dons who are now over .500 in WCC play.

1/10/18 vs. #5 Boston College (L 76-63)
1/13/18 at North Carolina (W 74-59)
The loss to Boston College hurt, but it's always nice to get a win over your arch rivals.
FR PG Benton Gale (High Point)- redshirting -- 8-10, 5-2 Big South.
1/11/18 vs. Liberty (W 64-59)

Gotta wonder if those games would have been different with Jace in the lineup. Boston College jumps over Duke, and Maryland, despite their record, is in shambles right now with the in-house feud between coach Turgeon and Chester Smith.

JR C David Ginsberg (Army) -- 8-11, 3-2 Patriot.
1/17/18 at Colgate (W 69-56), 2 points, 14 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block.
1/20/18 at Holy Cross (L 74-64), 2 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block.
A split for the Cadets, they'll take it. David had another huge rebounding day at Colgate, not as strong at Holy Cross. Some more scoring would have been nice.
RS SO C Jace Hunter (Xavier) -- 15-3, 2-2 Atlantic 10.
1/17/18 at Fordham (W 80-67), DNP (Suspension)
1/20/18 vs. Dayton (W 71-63), DNP (Suspension)
Good bounce back week for the Musketeers, including avenging a loss to Dayton.
RS SO PG Randy Rodgers (Auburn) -- 10-8, 3-2 SEC.
1/16/18 vs. Kentucky (L 66-60), 14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal.
1/20/18 at #24 Georgia (L 108-54), 14 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal.
Yikes! The Tigers might as well stayed home in that loss to Georgia. It was 61-20 at halftime! Randy was one of the few people that showed up in that game as he had almost 25% of Auburn's scoring. Not a good week for Auburn.
RS SO PF Ivan Carrillo (Arizona State) -- 13-4, 5-2 Pac 10.
1/18/18 at Oregon St. (W 79-63), 16 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal.
1/20/18 at Oregon (W 68-56), 7 points, 4 rebounds.
Nice week for the Sun Devils who have already far eclipsed their win total from last year. Another blockless week for Ivan, but he had a nice scoring game at Oregon St. Oregon was tougher, he only played 18 minutes because of foul trouble.
SO PF Eden James (Boston College) -- 18-1, 4-0 ACC.
1/17/18 vs. Miami (FL) (W 72-60), 11 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 steal.
1/20/18 vs. North Carolina (W 76-54), 6 points, 10 rebounds, 1 block.
Another great week for the Eagles who are rolling along. Eden had a couple solid games off the bench.
RS FR SF Chester Smith (Maryland) -- 15-3, 2-2 ACC.
1/17/18 vs. N.C. State (L 77-70), DNP (Coaches Decision)
1/20/18 vs. Florida St. (W 68-66), DNP (Coaches Decision)
A split this week for the Terrapins, but the real story continues to be the feud between Chester and coach Turgeon. I can understand being left behind on a road trip, but Chester wasn't on the bench for either home game this week. Ruh-roh!
RS FR PG Al Mighty (Houston) -- 12-5, 4-0 Conference USA.
1/17/18 vs. #22 Kent St. (W 93-73), 4 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals.
1/20/18 at UTEP (W 71-56), 8 points, 1 rebound.
Nice week for the Cougars who handed Kent St. only their 2nd loss of the season. Al is still trying to play catch-up after missing the first half of the season, but he's showing flashes of greatness.
RS FR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV) -- 14-4, 3-2 Mountain West.
1/17/18 vs. #12 BYU (L 84-60), 4 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists.
1/20/18 at Wyoming (W 86-74), 10 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist.
A very productive game for Ricardo at Wyoming, as he played just 9 minutes and scored 10 points. That's the kind of effort he needs to bring to the table consistently. Unfortunately, the Rebels didn't show up against BYU.
FR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State) -- 6-12, 3-3 Big West.
1/16/18 at Cal St. Fullerton (L 74-68), 10 points, 5 rebounds, 1 block.
1/18/18 vs. UC Riverside (W 61-51), 3 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal.
A split for the 49ers, but the real story is Rudy. Since coming back from injury he's played 4 games. He fouled out 1 game and ended up with 4 fouls the other 3 games. He's just a little bit behind now and it's costing him as far as fouls go.
FR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse)- redshirting -- 12-5, 2-4 Big East.
1/17/18 vs. #11 Georgetown (L 70-57)
1/20/18 vs. UConn (W 90-80)
A split for the Orange who continue to struggle this month.
FR PF Bam Jamison (San Francisco)- redshirting -- 11-7, 3-2 WCC.
1/18/18 vs. Loyola Marymount (L 69-61)
1/20/18 vs. Pepperdine (W 62-54)
The Dons get another split this week.
FR C Ralph King (Duke)- redshirting -- 15-3, 2-2 ACC.
1/17/18 vs. Florida St. (W 91-56)
1/20/18 at Wake Forest (L 72-65)
Gotta be able to win road games in the ACC, and Duke missed an opportunity at Wake Forest. The ACC is brutally tough this season, as 11 teams have an overall winning record, and only VA Tech is playing .500 overall.
FR PG Benton Gale (High Point)- redshirting -- 8-12, 5-4 Big South.
1/18/18 at USC Upstate (L 76-74)
1/20/18 at Presbyterian (L 85-64)
Tough week for the Panthers who have fallen back down to mediocrity.

Weird media top 25 this time, as Texas is undefeated, as more FPV than Pitt, but because of voting points, is 2 points away from being #1. Crazy stuff. Boston College stays put, Duke moves down, Maryland continues their downward slide (in more ways than one!), and Syracuse loses all their media points. Xavier, however, is back in with 5 media points.

David Ginsberg (Army) -- 8-13, 3-4 Patriot.
1/24/18 vs. American (L 80-57), 2 points, 1 rebound.
1/27/18 vs. New Hampshire (L 79-48), 7 points, 10 rebounds.
Tough week for David and the Cadets. Only 10 minutes of action for David against American as he battled foul trouble.
RS SO C Jace Hunter (Xavier) -- 17-3, 4-2 Atlantic 10.
1/24/18 vs. Temple (W 102-96, OT), DNP (Suspension)
1/27/18 vs. St. Bonaventure (W 96-75), DNP (Suspension)
Good week for the Musketeers, as Jace still battles his academic issues.
RS SO PG Randy Rodgers (Auburn) -- 10-10, 3-4 SEC.
1/23/18 vs. Ole Miss (L 71-62), 2 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal.
1/27/18 at #12 Vanderbilt (L 74-66), 11 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals.
The effort was there for the Tigers against 2 teams that have a combined 7 losses on the season, but Auburn still has a ways to go. Randy had a nice game against Vandy, but he's got to improve on that 3 for 10 shooting.
RS SO PF Ivan Carrillo (Arizona State) -- 14-5, 6-3 Pac 10.
1/25/18 vs. UCLA (L 80-68), 12 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block.
1/27/18 vs. USC (W 68-54), 10 points, 6 rebounds, 1 block.
A split for the Sun Devils this week, but Ivan had a nice week. ASU held USC to just 11 first half points in that game. Wow.
SO PF Eden James (Boston College) -- 20-1, 6-0 ACC.
1/24/18 at Virginia Tech (W 68-55), 8 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal.
1/27/18 at Miami (W 66-58), 14 points, 12 rebounds, 1 block, (Double-double), (POTG).
The Eagles stay undefeated in ACC play, and Eden gets another double-double and POTG award.
RS FR SF Chester Smith (Maryland) -- 15-5, 2-4 ACC.
1/24/18 vs. North Carolina (L 82-73), DNP (Coaches Decision)
1/27/18 at Florida State (L 76-58), DNP (Coaches Decision)
While the slide continues for Maryland, we understand that Chester has now stopped attending classes, and has given up on college. No Chester, don't do it!
RS FR PG Al Mighty (Houston) -- 14-5, 6-0 Conference USA.
1/24/18 vs. UTEP (W 94-82), 7 points, 1 assist.
1/27/18 vs. Southern Miss (W 84-74), 17 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block.
Nice game for Al against Southern Miss, probably the best of his young career as the Cougars stay undefeated in conference play.
RS FR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV) -- 15-5, 4-3 Mountain West.
1/23/18 at Air Force (W 76-55), 7 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal.
1/27/18 vs. Colorado State (L 81-64), 5 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal.
A split for the Rebels, and Ricardo continues to struggle to find consistency with his minutes.
FR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State) -- 7-13, 4-4 Big West.
1/23/18 vs. UC Riverside (L 73-50), 4 rebounds, 1 assist.
1/25/18 at Pacific (W 82-57), 4 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block.
While the 49ers split, Rudy continues to struggle with fouls, picking up 4 in each of his 2 games this week. He's got to learn to play without fouling, as his MPG has really gone down over the course of the season.
FR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse)- redshirting -- 14-5, 4-4 Big East.
1/24/18 at West Virginia (W 97-74)
1/27/18 at Providence (W 73-62)
The Orange got 2 big road wins this week, but they've got a really tough stretch of games coming up.
FR PF Bam Jamison (San Francisco)- redshirting -- 11-9, 3-4 WCC.
1/25/18 at Idaho (L 81-80)
1/27/18 at Portland (L 74-67)
2 tough losses for the Dons who are back under .500 in conference play.
FR C Ralph King (Duke)- redshirting -- 16-4, 3-3 ACC.
1/24/18 vs. Virginia (W 104-69)
1/27/18 at Georgia Tech (L 73-70)
What a blowout for the Blue Devils against Virginia, but they couldn't seal the deal at Georgia Tech.
FR PG Benton Gale (High Point)- redshirting -- 9-13, 6-5 Big South.
1/25/18 at Coastal Carolina (L 66-45)
1/27/18 at Charleston Southern (W 48-47)
The Panthers will happily take a split this week, as the win breaks a 3 game losing steak.

JR C David Ginsberg (Army) -- 10-13, 4-4 Patriot.
2/1/18 vs. #5 Wisconsin (W 75-72), 6 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks.
2/3/18 at Lehigh (W 73-62), 6 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block.
Big week for the Cadets, who sent a national shock into everybody by upsetting Wisconsin. 1 bit of bad news, as David broke a finger during the Lehigh game. Word is it will only keep him out a few days, and he is questionable for the next game.
RS SO C Jace Hunter (Xavier) -- 17-5, 4-4 Atlantic 10.
1/31/18 at Richmond (L 79-67), DNP (Suspension)
2/3/18 at LaSalle (L 71-69, OT), DNP (Suspension)
Tough week for the Cadets, who really could have used Jace.
RS SO PG Randy Rodgers (Auburn) -- 11-11, 4-5 SEC.
1/29/18 vs. Arkansas (W 75-37), 8 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals.
2/3/18 at Alabama (L 92-80), 9 points, 3 rebounds, 9 assists, 1 steal.
The Tigers will take the split, especially since the win was by 38 points. Randy came very close to another double-double against Bama.
RS SO PF Ivan Carrillo (Arizona State) -- 14-6, 6-4 Pac 10.
2/3/18 vs. Arizona (L 77-68), 15 points, 6 rebounds, 1 steal.
Just the 1 game this week for the Sun Devils, and the loss won't help their NCAA Tournament chances. They were down 16 at halftime. Ivan was having a monster game before he left early in the 2nd half with a concussion. Fortunately, he's only expected out 4 days, so he should be back in time for the next game.
SO PF Eden James (Boston College) -- 22-1, 8-0 ACC
1/31/18 vs. Virginia (W 83-51), 9 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks.
2/3/18 at #16 Maryland (W 76-59), 13 points, 7 rebounds, 4 blocks, 1 steal, (POTG).
The Eagles are still soaring high, having a remarkable run, as Eden got another POTG award.
RS FR SF Chester Smith (Maryland) -- 16-6, 3-5 ACC.
1/31/18 vs. Clemson (W 96-87), DNP (Coaches Decision)
2/3/18 vs. #2 Boston College (L 76-59), DNP (Coaches Decision)
The Terps finally got a conference win again, then lost bad to Eden and the Eagles. Apparently Eden and Coach Turgeon got into a heated discussion after the game, one can only wonder what that was about (cough, Chester, cough).
RS FR PG Al Mighty (Houston) -- 15-6, 7-1 Conference USA.
1/31/18 at ECU (L 80-61), 11 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal.
2/3/18 at Tulane (W 99-89), 11 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal.
Almost exact identical numbers for Al in his 2 games, which saw Houston lose their first conference game, but rebound nicely at Tulane.
RS FR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV) -- 15-7, 4-5 Mountain West.
1/31/18 vs. New Mexico (L 65-64), 1 assist.
2/3/18 at Utah (L 70-69), 3 rebounds.
As you can see, Ricardo didn't do much in either game. He played 4 minutes in 1, 8 minutes in the other, so he's still got some work to do. 2 tough losses for Rebels, by 1 point each. Ugh!
FR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State) -- 7-15, 4-5 Big West.
2/1/18 vs. UC Davis (L 48-47, OT), 4 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist.
2/3/18 at San Francisco (L 60-57), 3 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block.
Tough week for the 49ers, including getting beat by fellow FOFCer Bam and his Dons. The good news for Rudy is he finally broke the streak of games with 4 fouls, as he had just 1 at San Francisco.
FR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse)- redshirting -- 16-5, 6-4 Big East.
1/31/18 at Seton Hall (W 80-63)
2/3/18 vs. #14 Villanova (W 96-86)
Great week for the Orange, as they are in the midst of a killer schedule. 2 down, but still got top ranked Pitt looming next week.
FR PF Bam Jamison (San Francisco)- redshirting -- 13-9, 4-4 WCC.
2/1/18 vs. Santa Clara (W 77-67)
2/3/18 vs. Long Beach State (W 60-57)
2 big wins on the week for the Dons, now they need to keep up the momentum.
FR C Ralph King (Duke)- redshirting -- 18-4, 5-3 ACC.
1/31/18 at N.C. State (W 86-40)
2/3/18 at Florida State (W 76-41)
Easy week for the Blue Devils. They may have been on the road but they won both games convincingly.
FR PG Benton Gale (High Point)- redshirting -- 9-15, 6-7 Big South.
2/1/18 vs. Gardner Webb (L 94-93)
2/3/18 vs. UNC Asheville (L 72-61)
2 more losses for the Panthers, although the Gardner Webb game was given away.

OK folks, we're into February, and that means Bubble Watch time. First, we'll look at the Overall Bubble Watch:

Maryland still has some work to do or they are going to fall all the way out. Houston just needs to keep running through conference play.
As for our other 12 FOFC teams, here's how it shakes up:
Boston College, Duke, and Syracuse are projected as locks.
Xavier is projected in.
High Point, Long Beach State, UNLV, Arizona State, Army, Auburn, and San Francisco are projected out.
Remember, this is for the NCAA Tournament only. Some of those teams projected out will most likely be in secondary tournaments.

Feb. 5-11, 2018
JR C David Ginsberg (Army) -- 12-13, 6-4 Patriot.
2/7/18 at Navy (W 53-43), 10 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists.
2/10/18 at Bucknell (W 75-64), 6 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal.
The Cadets keep the winning streak going, now up to 4. David came off the bench against Navy, but was back in the starting lineup against Bucknell, and he had a couple of solid games.
RS SO C Jace Hunter (Xavier) -- 18-6, 5-5 Atlantic 10.
2/7/18 vs. Duquesne (W 60-46), DNP (Suspension)
2/10/18 at George Washington (L 61-58), DNP (Suspension)
The Muskeeters finally stop the losing streak while Jace continues to sit out academically.
RS SO PG Randy Rodgers (Auburn) -- 11-13, 4-6 SEC.
2/8/18 vs. North Carolina Central (L 78-77), 9 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals.
2/10/18 vs. LSU (L 75-67), 13 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals.
2 losses for the Tigers on the week, including an embarrassing home loss to NC Central. Randy had nice all around games though.
RS SO PF Ivan Carrillo (Arizona State) -- 15-7, 7-5, Pac 10.
2/8/18 at Stanford (W 69-67), 3 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists.
2/10/18 at Cal (L 70-53), 6 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist.
So a split for the Sun Devils, and Ivan didn't have the best of weeks either, but to his defense he was coming back from injury.
SO PF Eden James (Boston College) -- 23-2, 9-1 ACC.
2/7/18 vs. Georgia Tech (W 66-45), 4 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 4 blocks, 1 steal.
2/10/18 at #25 North Carolina (L 71-60), 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block.
So the Eagles lose their second game of the season in convincing fashion, and Eden was held scoreless, missing all 7 of his shots. He'll have to bounce back quick.
RS FR SF Chester Smith (Maryland) -- 17-7, 4-6 ACC.
2/7/18 vs. Miami (FL) (W 115-79), DNP (Coaches Decision)
2/10/18 at #8 Duke (L 84-54), DNP (Coaches Decision)
Chester remained unseen, which is a shame, because he might have had a small shot at playing this week. Boy are the Terps in trouble. They can beat the mediocre teams in conference, but against the top teams, they get blown out.
RS FR PG Al Mighty (Houston) -- 17-6, 9-1 Conference USA.
2/7/18 at SMU (W 81-72), 1 rebound, 3 assists.
2/10/18 at #22 Kent St. (W 97-81), 5 points, 1 rebound, 4 assists.
Big week for the Cougars who knock off ranked Kent St. in convincing fashion. While Al didn't have a great week, he is taking advantage of his opportunities and starting to see the floor better.
RS FR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV) -- 17-7, 5-5 Mountain West.
2/5/18 vs. USC Upstate (W 84-57), no stats (0-1 shooting)
2/10/18 vs. TCU (W 83-56), 6 points, 1 rebound.
2 feel good, blowout wins against subpar competition for the Rebels, and Ricardo is still struggling to find his rhythm.
FR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State) -- 7-17, 4-7 Big West.
2/8/18 at Cal Poly (L 57-53), 6 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist.
2/10/18 at UC Irvine (L 72-55), 2 points, 7 rebounds.
2 more losses for the 49ers. Rudy is starting to pull down some boards, now he needs to find some scoring.
FR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse)- redshirting -- 18-5, 8-4 Big East.
2/7/18 vs. #1 Pitt (W 100-83)
2/10/18 vs. Louisville (W 91-60)
Huge week for the Orange who have now won 7 in a row.
FR PF Bam Jamison (San Francisco)- redshirting -- 13-11, 4-6 WCC.
2/8/18 vs. San Diego (L 77-71)
2/10/18 vs. St. Marys (L 82-79)
Close games for the Dons, but games they really needed to help their postseason chances. Even getting 1 would have been nice.
FR C Ralph King (Duke)- redshirting -- 20-4, 7-3 ACC.
2/7/18 vs. Wake Forest (W 101-95)
2/10/18 vs. #18 Maryland (W 84-54)
Good week for the Blue Devils, including a smashing of Maryland.
FR Benton Gale (High Point)- redshirting -- 11-15, 8-7 Big South.
2/8/18 at VMI (W 71-56)
2/10/18 at Liberty (W 72-63)
Much better week for the Panthers, who get 2 solid wins.

Xavier and Houston are projected in.
High Point, Long Beach State, UNLV, Arizona State, Army, Auburn, and San Francisco are projected out.

Feb. 12-18, 2018
JR C David Ginsberg (Army) -- 13-14, 7-5 Patriot.
2/14/18 vs. Holy Cross (L 82-79), 2 points, 9 rebounds.
2/17/18 vs. Colgate (W 74-56), 4 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists.
Losing that Holy Cross game was a bummer, as they led it by 5 at halftime. David did well rebounding wise, but has struggled to get points.
RS SO C Jace Hunter (Xavier) -- 20-6, 7-5 Atlantic 10.
2/14/18 vs. St. Louis (W 67-58), DNP (Suspension)
2/17/18 vs. Fordham (W 80-74), DNP (Suspension)
A couple of much needed wins for the Musketeers as Jace continues to hit the books hard in an attempt to come back next season.
RS SO PG Randy Rodgers (Auburn) -- 12-14, 5-7 SEC.
2/13/18 at South Carolina (W 81-58), 13 points, 3 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 steal.
2/17/18 vs. #23 Mississippi St. (L 81-57), 10 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists.
So a split for the Tigers, and Randy has a fractured nose after a collision in the Miss. St. game. He played through it, and seemed to do ok, but we'll see if he plays next week.
RS SO PF Ivan Carrillo (Arizona State) -- 16-8, 8-6 Pac 10.
2/15/18 vs. Oregon (L 52-49), 9 points, 3 rebounds.
2/17/18 vs. Oregon St. (W 78-57), 5 points, 6 rebounds.
That loss to Oregon really hurt the Sun Devils, as they led 28-14 at halftime. Tough one to lose. Ivan did ok, but he's questionable next week as he left the Oregon St. game with a sprained ankle.
SO PF Eden James (Boston College) -- 25-2, 11-1 ACC.
2/14/18 vs. Wake Forest (W 81-58), 6 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 2 steals.
2/17/18 at N.C. State (W 63-41), 9 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block.
Good week for the Eagles who continue to roll after that loss, as Eden was a force on the boards against Wake, not as much against N.C. State.
RS FR SF Chester Smith (Maryland) -- 19-7, 6-6 ACC.
2/14/18 at Virginia Tech (W 62-59), DNP (Coaches Decision)
2/17/18 at Virginia (W 101-79), DNP (Coaches Decision)
The Terps get a couple of much needed wins, but still no Chester sighting. Barring a miracle, I'd say his time at Maryland is over.
RS FR PG Al Mighty (Houston) -- 17-8, 9-3 Conference USA.
2/14/18 at Southern Miss (L 93-84), 3 points, 1 rebound, 6 assists.
2/17/18 at Tulsa (L 80-75, OT), 6 points, 1 assist.
A couple disastrous losses for the Cougars this week, damaging their NCAA chances severely. Al had a nice game at Southern Miss but struggled at Tulsa.
RS FR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV) -- 18-8, 6-6 Mountain West.
2/13/18 at San Diego State (W 92-82), 3 points, 1 rebound.
2/17/18 at #5 BYU (L 77-65), 5 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist.
The Rebels hung tough against top 5 BYU, trailing by only 3 at halftime. A split for the week isn't going to help their NCAA chances. Ricardo seems to be starting to understand how important his minutes are, although he's still got work to do.
FR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State) -- 8-18, 5-8 Big West.
2/15/17 vs. Cal St. Fullerton (W 71-57), 10 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, (double-double), (POTG).
2/17/18 vs. Cal St. Northridge (L 61-46), 6 points, 5 rebounds.
A split for the 49ers, who didn't show up against Northridge. Good week for Rudy who got a POTG and a double double, even hit a couple threes!
FR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse)- redshirting -- 20-5, 10-4 Big East.
2/14/18 at DePaul (W 67-52)
2/17/18 vs. St. Johns (W 76-64)
The Orange keep rolling, now winners of 9 in a row.
FR PF Bam Jamison (San Francisco)- redshirting -- 15-11, 6-6 WCC.
2/15/18 at Pepperdine (W 74-52)
2/17/18 at Loyola Marymount (W 68-60)
The Dons get back on track with a couple wins. Kinda surprising, they've been better on the road than they have at home. Unfortunately their last 3 regular season games are all at home.
FR C Ralph King (Duke)- redshirting -- 22-4, 9-3 ACC.
2/14/18 vs. Clemson (W 105-46)
2/17/18 at Miami (FL) (W 84-66)
Poor Clemson might as well have not even bothered showing up. You have to wonder if Maryland won a game 105-46, if Chester would have played. I'm guessing not as Coach Turgeon seems to have it in for him. Alas, this is Duke, not Maryland, and they've won 6 in a row.
FR PG Benton Gale (High Point)- redshirting -- 12-16, 9-8 Big South.
2/15/18 vs. Presbyterian (L 69-68)
2/17/18 vs. USC Upstate (W 73-71)
That loss to Presbyterian hurts, they needed that one.

Feb. 19-25, 2018
JR C David Ginsberg (Army) -- 13-16, 7-7 Patriot.
2/21/18 at American (L 80-63), 5 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist.
2/24/18 at New Hampshire (L 79-71), 4 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist.
Tough week for the Cadets, and especially for David who left the New Hampshire game with a dislocated shoulder, expecting to be out for a couple weeks. This likely rules him out for the Patriot Tournament, in which Army will be the 5th seed and open up against Colgate.
RS SO C Jace Hunter (Xavier) -- 21-7, 8-6 Atlantic 10.
2/21/18 vs. Charlotte (L 63-44), DNP (Suspension)
2/24/18 vs. Rhode Island (W 57-41), DNP (Suspension)
The Musketeers split this week, but they sure would have liked to get that win against Charlotte. Jace remains on academic suspension, hoping maybe he'll catch a break and be ruled eligible for the postseason.
RS SO PG Randy Rodgers (Auburn) -- 14-14, 7-7 SEC.
2/20/18 at Arkansas (W 80-61), 13 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals.
2/24/18 vs. #9 Tennessee (W 76-67), 17 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 1 steal, (POTG).
Huge week for the Tigers, who got a big upset win at home to even their record at .500. The fractured nose doesn't seem to be affecting Randy, as he got a POTG award and had an overall good week.
RS SO PF Ivan Carrillo (Arizona State) -- 16-10, 8-8 Pac 10.
2/22/18 at USC (L 72-55), 3 points, 1 rebound.
2/24/18 at UCLA (L 95-88), 4 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks.
The Sun Devils seem to be going down a slippery slope now, as they are losing a lot of steam. Ivan is fully recovered from his injury, and now just needs to start dominating the paint again.
SO PF Eden James (Boston College) -- 27-2, 13-1 ACC.
2/21/18 at Clemson (W 95-87), 4 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks.
2/24/18 vs. Virginia Tech (W 66-57), 3 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 4 blocks.
The Eagles continue to dominate, but Eden didn't have the greatest of weeks off the bench. At this point, I'm sure he'll trade any success he might have for a deep postseason run for BC.
RS FR SF Chester Smith (Maryland) -- 19-9, 6-8 ACC.
2/21/18 at N.C. State (L 76-63), DNP (Coaches Decision)
2/24/18 vs. Wake Forest (L 103-85), DNP (Coaches Decision)
Speaking of teams in a downward spiral, the Terrapins and Coach Turgeon have been for the last couple months. Chester is nowhere to be found, Maryland is starting to lose to everybody, and rumors are running rampant that either Chester, coach Turgeon, or even both, will be looking for a new school next season.
RS FR PG Al Mighty (Houston) -- 18-9, 10-4 Conference USA.
2/21/18 at #23 Memphis (L 73-66), 1 rebound, 3 assists.
2/24/18 vs. Central Florida (W 80-68), 3 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists.
A split for the Cougars, but that game against Memphis was the one they really wanted and didn't get. Al is struggling a bit at the D1 level, but he is a dynamite shooter, as he seems to make almost all his threes.
RS FR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV) -- 20-8, 8-6 Mountain West.
2/21/18 vs. Wyoming (W 76-68), 6 points, 1 rebound.
2/24/18 vs. Air Force (W 77-61), 3 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal.
The Rebels have a very good week, getting their 20th win, and Ricardo is starting to take advantage of his minutes, another good shooter.
FR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State) -- 8-20, 5-10 Big West.
2/22/18 at UC Santa Barbara (L 70-48), 10 points, 6 rebounds, 1 steal.
2/24/18 at UC Riverside (L 63-60), 10 points, 11 rebounds, 1 block, (Double-double)
Tough week for the 49ers who have now lost 3 in a row, but what a week for Rudy who collects another double-double, and even got a steal at UCSB.
FR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse)- redshirting -- 22-5, 12-4 Big East.
2/21/18 at South Florida (W 63-48)
2/24/18 vs. Rutgers (W 95-72)
2 more easy wins for the Orange, who have now won 11 in a row and haven't lost since mid-January.
FR PF Bam Jamison (San Francisco)- redshirting -- 16-12, 7-7 WCC.
2/22/18 vs. Idaho (L 77-64)
2/24/18 vs. Portland (W 72-63)
UGH! That loss to Idaho is unacceptable for the Dons. Not the kind of teams they should be losing to. Speaking of teams they shouldn't be losing to, they host a non-conference game against Eastern Washington next week before they start the WCC Tourney where they'll be the 4th seed and get a bye into the Second Round where they will take on the (8) Portland/(5) Pepperdine winner.
FR C Ralph King (Duke)- redshirting -- 23-5, 10-4 ACC.
2/21/18 vs. #16 North Carolina (L 81-63)
2/24/18 at Virginia (W 92-59)
Never good when you lose to your arch-rival, but to basically get hammered by them? Word has it that Ralph was talking trash on some of his teammates for not showing up against the Tarheels. We'll have to keep an eye on that!
FR PG Benton Gale (High Point)- redshirting -- 13-16, 10-8 Big South.
2/24/18 at Radford (W 73-71, OT)
The Panthers finish off the regular season on the right foot, and carries some momentum into the Big South Tourney, where they will be the 5th seed and open up against (4) Gardner Webb.

Feb. 26-March 4, 2018
JR C David Ginsberg (Army) -- 14-17, 7-7 Patriot.
2/28/18- Patriot Quarterfinals vs. (4) Colgate (W 78-60), DNP (Injury).
3/4/18- Patriot Semifinals vs. (1) Holy Cross (L 83-63), DNP (Injury).
So David misses the Patriot Tourney, and they could have used him, as the Cadets were tied with Holy Cross at halftime but ran out of gas, and their season comes to an end.
RS SO C Jace Hunter (Xavier) -- 23-7, 10-6 Atlantic 10.
2/28/18 at UMass (W 98-90, OT), DNP (Suspension)
3/3/18 at St. Josephs (W 92-86, OT), DNP (Suspension)
Good week for the Musketeers who won 2 road games, both in overtime. Unfortunately, it looks like Jace is out for the postseason, as the NCAA denied his appeal to play in the A-10 Tourney. Speaking of, the Musketeers will be the 4th seed and open up in the Quarterfinals against the winner of (12) LaSalle/(5) Rhode Island.
RS SO PG Randy Rodgers (Auburn) -- 16-14, 9-7 SEC.
2/27/18 at Ole Miss (W 84-76), 10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists.
3/3/18 vs. Florida (W 88-79), 17 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals.
Big week for the Tigers who got a couple wins over very good teams. Randy did his part with a couple solid games. The Tigers finish the regular season on a 4 game winning streak and get the 6th seed in the SEC Tournament, opening up in the First Round against (11) Kentucky. They probably need to win the SEC Tourney to get to the Big Dance.
RS SO PF Ivan Carrillo (Arizona State) -- 18-10, 10-8 Pac 10.
3/1/18 vs. Washington St. (W 70-66), 7 points, 5 rebounds.
3/3/18 vs. Washington (W 84-76), 2 points, 7 rebounds, 1 steal.
Good week for the Sun Devils as they get a couple big wins. Unfortunately for Ivan, he sprained his ankle in the Washington St. game and gave it a go off the bench against Washington. Arizona St. will be the 5th seed in the Pac 10 Tourney and will open up the Quarterfinals against (4) Arizona.
SO PF Eden James (Boston College) -- 28-3, 14-2 ACC.
2/28/18 vs. #7 Duke (L 81-69), 5 points, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks.
3/3/18 at Florida St. (W 72-54), 5 points, 5 rebounds, 3 blocks.
The Eagles lost a top 10 showdown against Duke, and Eden was consistent off the bench, although he needs to be doing more. BC will be the top seed in the ACC Tourney and goes to the Quarterfinals where they will play the winner of (9) Florida St./(8) Georgia Tech.
RS FR SF Chester Smith (Maryland) -- 21-9, 8-8 ACC.
2/28/18 vs. Georgia Tech (W 59-40), DNP (Coaches Decision)
3/3/18 at #13 North Carolina (W 73-59), DNP (Coaches Decision)
Good week for the Terrapins who get some momentum going into the conference tournament, even if Chester appears to no longer be part of the team. Maryland will be the 5th seed in the ACC Tournament and will open up in the First Round against (12) N.C. State.
RS FR PG Al Mighty (Houston) -- 20-9, 12-4 Conference USA.
2/28/18 vs. UAB (W 101-56), 2 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists.
3/3/18 vs. Marshall (W 55-54), 16 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, (POTG).
The Cougars had to get a buzzer beater to beat a 5 win Marshall team, but they finish the week 2-0, and Al got his first POTG award and was just 1 point off his career high. Houston will be the 3rd seed in the C-USA Tourney and will open up in the Quarterfinals against the winner of (11) ECU/(6) Southern Miss.
RS FR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV) -- 22-8, 10-6 Mountain West.
2/28/18 at Colorado St. (W 82-74), 2 rebounds, 1 assist.
3/3/18 at New Mexico (W 73-62), 3 points, 2 assists.
The Rebels get 2 road wins to close out the regular season, and Ricardo continues to struggle with consistency, taking a huge step back this week. UNLV will be the 3rd seed in the Mountain West Tourney and open up in the Quarterfinals against (6) Wyoming.
FR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State) -- 8-21, 5-11 Big West.
3/3/18 vs. Pacific (L 65-42), 2 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist.
The 49ers end the season on a losing note, and Rudy struggled with foul trouble again. Long Beach will be the 8th seed in the Big West Tourney and will open up in the First Round against (5) Cal St. Northridge.
FR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse)- redshirting -- 23-6, 13-5 Big East.
2/28/18 at Cincinnati (L 75-73)
3/3/18 at Notre Dame (W 92-70)
So the win streak comes to an end, but the Orange start a new one to end the regular season. They'll be the 2nd seed in the Big East Tourney and get a double bye into the Quarterfinals where they will take on either (15) Rutgers, (10) Seton Hall, or (7) Villanova.
FR PF Bam Jamison (San Francisco)- redshirting -- 16-14, 7-7 WCC.
3/3/18- WCC Second Round vs. (5) Pepperdine (L 80-76, OT)
The slight hopes that the Dons had to make the NCAA Tournament vanished with this loss, and now they will wait and see if they get a call from the NIT Selection Committee or if they are relegated to the CBI or CIT.
FR C Ralph King (Duke)- redshirting -- 25-5, 12-4 ACC.
2/28/18 at #1 Boston College (W 81-69)
3/3/18 vs. Virginia Tech (W 70-45)
The Blue Devils end the regular season on a 3 game winning streak, and will be the 2nd seed in the ACC Tourney, getting a bye into the Quarterfinals where they will take on the winner of (10) Clemson/(7) Virginia.
FR PG Benton Gale (High Point)- redshirting -- 13-17, 10-8 Big South.
2/27/18- Big South Quarterfinals vs. (4) Gardner Webb (L 80-77)
The Panthers end their season with the loss, but they would have needed to win the conference tourney just to get into a postseason tournament.

Houston is right there, and probably just needs to win 1 game in the C-USA Tourney to clinch an NCAA bid. However, a loss in the first game will see them NIT bound for sure.
The other 12 teams:
Boston College, Duke, Maryland, Syracuse are projected as locks. Good to see Maryland move back up here.
Xavier is projected in.
High Point, Long Beach St., UNLV, Arizona St., Army, Auburn, and San Francisco are projected out.

March 5-11, 2018
JR C David Ginsberg (Army) -- 14-17, 7-7 Patriot
No games this week.
RS SO C Jace Hunter (Xavier) -- 24-8, 10-6 Atlantic 10.
3/9/18- Atlantic 10 Quarterfinals vs. (12) LaSalle (W 68-65), DNP (Suspension)
3/10/18- Atlantic 10 Semifinals vs. (1) #25 Dayton (L 70-53), DNP (Suspension).
So the Musketeers fall short in the A-10 semifinals. Would Jace have made the difference? Who knows? Xavier will still be playing basketball this season, the question is where.
RS SO PG Randy Rodgers (Auburn) -- 16-15, 9-7 SEC.
3/8/18- SEC First Round vs. (11) Kentucky (L 81-54), 2 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals.
An embarrassing loss in the SEC Tournament leaves coach Pearl, Randy, and the rest of the Tigers wondering if their season is over or not.
RS SO PF Ivan Carrillo (Arizona State) -- 19-11, 10-8 Pac 10.
3/8/18- Pac 10 Quarterfinals vs. (4) Arizona (W 96-94, OT), 15 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal.
3/9/18- Pac 10 Semifinals vs. (1) USC (L 77-58), 7 points, 4 rebounds.
The Sun Devils just didn't have it against the #1 seed in the Pac 10, and now they will wait and see if they've done enough to make the NCAA or if they are NIT bound.
SO PF Eden James (Boston College) -- 29-4, 14-2 ACC.
3/9/18- ACC Quarterfinals vs. (8) Georgia Tech (W 62-55), 4 points, 6 rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal.
3/10/18- ACC Semifinals vs. (5) #23 Maryland (L 65-59), 3 points, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 steals.
Not the way the Eagles wanted to finish the ACC Tourney, and Eden wanted better for himself. Boston College is in the Big Dance, the question is will they be a #1 seed?
RS FR SF Chester Smith (Maryland) -- 25-9, 8-8 ACC.
3/8/18- ACC First Round vs. (12) N.C. State (W 69-50), DNP (Coaches Decision).
3/9/18- ACC Quarterfinals vs. (4) Wake Forest (W 90-87), DNP (Coaches Decision).
3/10/18- ACC Semifinals vs. (1) #2 Boston College (W 65-59), DNP (Coaches Decision).
3/11/18- ACC Championship vs. (2) #5 Duke (W 85-80), DNP (Coaches Decision).
What a run for the Terrapins who clinched an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament, although Chester was nowhere to be found during the celebration.
RS FR PG Al Mighty (Houston) -- 20-10, 12-4 Conference USA.
3/8/18- Conference USA Quarterfinals vs. (6) Southern Miss (L 73-63), 5 points, 3 assists, 2 steals.
Well, I think the bubble just burst for the Cougars. They needed this win and probably 1 more, so I'd have to say they are NIT bound. Al took advantage of his 11 minutes.
RS FR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV) -- 25-8, 10-6 Mountain West.
3/8/18- Mountain West Quarterfinals vs. (6) Wyoming (W 72-53), 2 assists, 1 steal.
3/9/18- Mountain West Semifinals vs. (2) Utah (W 84-77), 10 points, 1 rebound.
3/10/18- Mountain West Championship vs. (1) #6 BYU (W 70-65), 8 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 steal.
Big time for the Rebels, who take out the top 2 seeds to win the MWC Tourney and clinch an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament, which they might not have gotten otherwise. Ricardo was very efficient in the last 2 games. He played just 4 minutes in the semis and 7 minutes in the ship.
FR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State) -- 11-22, 5-11 Big West.
3/7/18- Big West First Round vs. (5) Cal St. Northridge (W 65-62), 15 points, 6 rebounds, (POTG).
3/8/18- Big West Second Round vs. (4) UC Irvine (W 83-79, OT), 8 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals.
3/9/18- Big West Semifinals vs. (1) UC Santa Barbara (W 64-54), 12 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal.
3/10/18- Big West Championship vs. (3) Pacific (L 69-56), 2 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal.
The 49ers were 1 game away from shocking the world and winning the Big West Tourney, but they fell short in the championship and will see their season end. If they can keep that momentum going into next season, they could contend. Rudy had a huge tournament, including a POTG award.
FR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse)- redshirting -- 26-6, 13-5 Big East.
3/8/18- Big East Quarterfinals vs. (7) Villanova (W 95-92)
3/9/18- Big East Semifinals vs. (6) West Virginia (W 92-52)
3/10/18- Big East Championship vs. (4) #19 Georgetown (W 96-91)
Good tournament for the Orange, who survive a couple tough ones to win it and advance to the NCAA Tournament with an automatic bid.
FR PF Bam Jamison (San Francisco)- redshirting -- 16-14, 7-7 WCC.
No games this week.
FR C Ralph King (Duke)- redshirting -- 27-6, 12-4 ACC.
3/9/18- ACC Quarterfinals vs. (10) Clemson (W 109-73)
3/10/18- ACC Semifinals vs. (3) #15 North Carolina (W 73-47)
3/11/18- ACC Championship vs. (5) #23 Maryland (L 85-80)
The Blue Devils will take solace in knowing they eliminated their arch rivals from the tournament, in convincing fashion no less. They are in the NCAA Tournament as an at-large, the question is, will they be a 1 or 2 seed?
FR PG Benton Gale (High Point)- redshirting -- 13-17, 10-8 Big South.
No games this week.

2018 Selection Sunday
Maryland gets the 5th seed in the NCAA West Region, opening up against (12) Wright State in the First Round.
Duke gets the 2nd seed in the NCAA West Region, drawing (15) Pacific in the First Round. If the Blue Devils need any advice on how to beat Pacific, I'm sure Ralph can ask Rudy Arellano, as Rudy played Pacific 3 times this season.
Xavier gets the 10th seed in the NCAA Midwest Region, opening up against (7) George Mason in the First Round.
Syracuse gets the 3rd seed in the NCAA South Region, and will play (14) Liberty in the First Round.
Boston College gets the top seed in the NCAA East Region and awaits the winner of a First Four game between Weber St. and Lipscomb.
UNLV gets the 10th seed in the NCAA East Region and will draw (7) Mississippi St. in the First Round.
Arizona State gets the 5th seed in the NIT West Region, and what I think is a crock of crap and would never happen in real life, will travel to (4) Arizona in the First Round. Yes, I said it, Arizona. Their in-state, conference rival.
Houston gets the 4th seed in the NIT South Region, and will host (5) Western Michigan in the First Round.
No postseason for High Point, Long Beach State, Army, Auburn, or San Francisco.
And I screwed up, as I was going to make the NIT 40 teams so that maybe a few more of our recruits teams would sneak in the postseason. If the NIT were 40 teams, maybe San Francisco and Auburn would still be playing.
Then again, is it fair to do going into next season? Or should I just leave things the way they are? What do you guys think?

Alright, we've got 8 teams playing postseason basketball, so we'll cover them in this post.
RS SO C Jace Hunter (Xavier)
3/15/18- NCAA Midwest Region First Round vs. (7) George Mason (L 85-57), DNP (Suspension)
Ouch! Not a way to finish off the season by any account. Jace still academically ineligible and it looks like the Musketeers just forgot to show up. They end the season with a 24-9 record.
RS SO PF Ivan Carrillo (Arizona State)
3/15/18- NIT West Region First Round at (4) Arizona (L 87-59), 9 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists.
Not the way the Sun Devils wanted to end the season, although they were quite miffed that they had to play Arizona in the NIT First Round, and I don't blame them. Ivan wasn't really spectacular in this one, as he saw his minutes limited due to foul trouble. The Sun Devils finish with a 19-12 record, still much improved over the last couple seasons.
SO PF Eden James (Boston College)
3/16/18- NCAA East Region First Round vs. (16) Lipscomb (W 87-69), 10 points, 6 rebounds.
3/18/18- NCAA East Region Second Round vs. (9) Northeastern (W 88-69), 7 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists.
3/23/18- NCAA East Regional Semifinal vs. (5) Georgia (L 70-67), 8 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 steals.
So the Eagles see their season end maybe a few games earlier than they would have liked, tough since they were up by 7 at halftime. Eden had 3 great performances off the bench, and he has to be in line for some kind of award. BC ended the season 31-5.
RS FR SF Chester Smith (Maryland)
3/16/18- NCAA West Region First Round vs. (12) Wright St. (W 94-68), DNP (Coaches Decision)
3/18/18- NCAA West Region Second Round vs. (4) Nevada (W 94-66), DNP (Coaches Decision)
3/22/18- NCAA West Regional Semifinal vs. (1) Texas (L 78-46), 1 minute, missed only shot.
Somehow Coach Turgeon got Chester to come along for the ride, and gave him a cheap token minute in the blowout loss to Texas, probably the last time Chester will play a game in a Maryland uniform. I'd be shocked if he doesn't transfer. Maryland finished 27-10 on the season.
RS FR PG Al Mighty (Houston)
3/15/18- NIT South Region First Round vs. (5) Western Michigan (W 84-66), 10 points, 2 rebounds, 1 block.
3/18/18- NIT South Region Second Round at (1) Louisville (L 79-69), 14 points, 1 assist.
The Cougars will be thinking about this one for a while, as they led by 13 at halftime before letting the always powerful Cardinals back into it. Houston was outscored 46-23 in the second half, and finishes their season 21-11. Al had a couple nice scoring games off the bench, something to build on for next season.
RS FR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV)
3/16/18- NCAA East Region First Round vs. (7) Mississippi State (L 87-81), 5 points, 1 rebound.
The Rebels battled against the Bulldogs, but just didn't have enough, as they end the season 25-9, and Ricardo will look to find some consistency in the offseason.
FR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse)- redshirting
3/15/18- NCAA South First Round vs. (14) Liberty (W 77-57)
3/17/18- NCAA South Second Round vs. (6) Butler (W 90-75)
3/22/18- NCAA South Regional Semifinal vs. (2) Missouri (L 101-94)
So the Orange fall short in a shootout against Missouri, and finish the season 28-7.
FR C Ralph King (Duke)- redshirting
3/15/18- NCAA West Region First Round vs. (15) Pacific (W 74-39)
3/17/18- NCAA West Region Second Round vs. (10) UCLA (W 89-76)
3/22/18- NCAA West Regional Semifinal vs. (3) Georgetown (W 69-49)
3/24/18- NCAA West Regional Final vs. (1) Texas (W 74-50)
3/31/18- NCAA Final Four vs. (5S) Oklahoma St. (W 83-49)
4/2/18- NCAA Championship vs. (1MW) Kansas (W 91-80)
What a run for the Blue Devils, who win the national championship in what might be Coach K's final season. We'll have to see if he chooses to retire or come back and defend his title next season. Ralph surely has a vested interest as he wants to play for the legend that is Coach K.
Season Wrap-up will be in a separate post because I am running short on time and still have to get my mile walk in before work.

2017-2018 Season Wrap-Up
Next Years Recruits
Let's take a look at how our 6 recruits' new teams from this season panned out.
SG Jaybard Riley - Jaybard is headed to Michigan St., which finished 25-9 overall and 13-5 in the Big 10. They lost in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament.
SG Quikshot Collins- Quikshot is headed to Pitt, and the Panthers finished 31-6 overall and 15-3 in the Big East. They lost in the NCAA Final Four.
C Ariel Ginsberg- Ariel is headed to Georgetown, which finished 26-10 overall and 12-6 in the Big East. The Hoyas lost in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen.
PF Path Twelve- Path is headed to Oregon, and the Ducks finished 13-18 overall and 6-12 in the Pac 10, no postseason.
SG Thomas Magnum- Thomas is headed to Marshall, who finished 6-26 overall and 2-14 in Conference USA. Of course, no postseason. Yikes!
PG Mike Schaplowsky- Mike is staying in-state and heading to Kansas St., his 2nd choice. The Wildcats finished 15-17 overall and 5-11 in the Big 12. No postseason for them either.
Season Awards
PF David Ginsberg -- Apparently David has been playing at PF all season and I missed it, or maybe he was recruited as a PF, I don't remember. Either way, he was named to the Patriot League 2nd Team.
He was also the only one of our FOFC players to get a season award. Yuck!
Transfers
Only 1 of our FOFC players transferred in the offseason, and surprisingly, it isn't who you think. Somehow, I have no idea how, but somehow Chester Smith agreed to return to Maryland next season. I have no idea why, Coach Turgeon must have promised him plenty of PT, maybe a starting role? In either case, Chester is staying a Terrapin.
Bam Jamison, however, has given up his role as a Don and decided San Francisco isn't for him. I'll be sure to let him know where he ends up.
Conference Movement
There were 2 conference changes this offseason, both of which affect some of our recruits. Memphis is heading to the Big East, and South Florida is heading to Conference USA.
Coach Movement
To my shock, none of our FOFC coaches moved, retired (I was thinking Boeheim or Coach K might) or were fired (Herb Sendek was on the Hot Seat).
Bam Jamison ended up transferring to... Grambling State???? Really? Well, I guess he'll get plenty of PT there, but wow. Grambling was 15-19 last season and 10-8 in the SWAC. They won the SWAC Tourney and got crushed in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament.
That completes Season 4, once I set all the coaches back to human, add in the real coaches for this seasons recruits and transfers, and edit the season 5 recruits, I'll get season 5 going. It'll probably be a few days though, hopefully Wednesday or Thursday.

Sorry for the long delay between posts, the weather was not so good around here during the weekend, so it made for a long weekend at the ball park as we attempted to get a junior college regional baseball tournament in. Needless to say this is the first chance I've had to do anything with any of my projects since early last week. I'm hoping to get going on this recruit/player dynasty if not tonight, then for sure tomorrow night.
