Switched computers the other day and now FOF will not work. I first thought it was some kind of license issue, but being that I bought it on steam someone mentioned to me it should work fine on more than one computer. Tried contacting Steam got zero help there, so I am here now.

Loads up, but will not let you press okay to start a new league. I do not have access to my old computer anymore. (laptop died) and now I am stuck with a great game that I can not play.

How do I fix this? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling a few times, operating system is the same, hell everything is the same, only difference is one was a laptop and now this one is a desk top.

Have you tried deleting it and re-installing it? I also purchased the game via Steam and for some random reason it stopped working. I re-installed and it worked fine after that.

Don't know how useful is is for this game in particular, but when I run into issues with Steam games I usually verify the integrity of the game cache first and foremost in case there are corrupted or missing files.

Here's how to do it:

I have still not found a solution for this. I even tried to contact support but got a bounce back saying the email was not deliverable. Tried installing on a few different computers but keep coming up blank on getting it to work.

The support email address just changed. It's at the FAQ: Solecismic Software: Home of Front Office Football (http://www.solecismic.com/faq/index.php)

Thank you for the updated email. I looked all over the site and could not find any contact info. Just sent it off and did not get a bounce back so that is better than when I started.

Yeah, it's quite hidden, sadly. If it were too out in the open I suppose Jim would get hammered with spam, which is why he changed the address anyway.

The support address is still in the customer support FAQ, where it has been for at least a decade or so (I last changed it in 2010, by the way). I'd like to ask people to edit out any email addresses in replies here, both for spam and to provide better support for customers.

I also want to encourage people to read the FAQ and the help file before they go to email. With email, there's always some back and forth that takes a lot of time, and customers will likely get a much faster answer from the help file than in waiting for a support email.

In this case, the answer was very simple. The new league ID has to be eight characters in length or the OK button won't be enabled on the new game screen.

I also wanted to mention that in the "old" days, data transmission sometimes lost bytes here and there. It's a lot more reliable today, and Steam even uses checksums, so if there's a problem, it will be flagged or automatically reloaded. Reinstallation is almost never necessary these days. Now that everything's in AppData, it's hard to accidentally delete key game files. Even rebooting a computer, which often helped in older versions of Windows that had more memory issues and no storage security, almost never solves problems today.
