We now have sign-ups ongoing for our Truck Series which will begin in Season 2. If you already have drivers in the Cup series but want more, sign-up for the Truck Series. New drivers to the series will have to first enter the Truck Series and earn their way to the Cup series.

The FOFC Sprint Cup Racing Series Returns - Season 1 Sign-Ups Underway - Front Office Football Central (http://www.operationsports.com/fofc/showthread.php?t=90185)

PLAYOFF FORMAT

After 10 "regular season" races, the top 10 drivers, as determined by points accumulated during the season, automatically advance to contend for the Sprint Cup championship. These drivers are joined by two "wild card" qualifiers, specifically the two drivers ranked from 11th through 37th in drivers' points who have the most regular-season race wins. The 12 drivers' championship points are reset to a base of 1,000 per driver. Each of the 10 automatic qualifiers receives a bonus of 3 points for each win during the regular season, while the two wild card qualifiers receive no bonus. Every driver then will receive a bonus for their final position after 10 races. Wild card qualifiers receive no bonus.

1st - 20 bonus points
2nd - 18 bonus points
3rd - 16 bonus points
4th - 14 bonus points
5th - 12 bonus points
6th - 10 bonus points
7th - 8 bonus points
8th - 6 bonus points
9th - 4 bonus points
10th - 2 bonus points

Normal scoring applies during the Chase, with race winners earning 43 base points plus 3 bonus points, all drivers who lead a lap earning 1 bonus point, and the driver who leads the most laps earning 1 bonus point in addition to any other points earned.

The 1st season of the brand new FOFC Sprint Cup Racing Series began in sunny Daytona today as 38 drivers took the green flag. Stroker Ace started from the pole with Rob Nielsen sitting in 2nd place and depsite 39 lead changes throughout the day, on the last lap it was Stroker Ace holding off Rob Nielsen to take the victory in the season's opening race. Comrade Twelve finished in 3rd followed by Aaron Kappe in 4th and the day's leading lap leader Jackson Pace n 5th.

Some of the days strongest cars belonged to Blue Neckansack, Mustafa Henderson and Luke Duke. All three were involved in the same crash on lap #133 and Henderson and Duke were knocked out of the race. Neckansack recovered from the wreck to finish 21st. The accident on lap 133 also knocked out Bo Duke, Dexter Jackson and Bo Danville. Early in the race on lap 49 Patrick Hutt and Rex D'Car were involved in a two car crash that knocked both of them out.

I would love to do something like that eventually. If we get more drivers and go over our limit I would love to start a second feeder series. Possibly something of a relegation system where the bottom 5 from the Cup Series drop down to the lower series and the top 5 from that series move up.

I was wondering what the schedule was.

Also, you say base of 2000 points in the first post, but don't you mean something else for the chase? Nobody will ever have more than 430 points or so after the 10 races.

I copied it from a previous version of the dynasty where we had more races. I'll probably just put it at 1000. I'm going to try and get races up at the very least every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

The polesitter wins again this week. You don't see that too often but David Ginsberg was able to pull off the feat this week winning from the pole. He didn't however, have the dominate car on the day. That belonged to Bo Duke who led 216 of the days 312 laps. Ginsberg led 87 as the two combined to dominate and lead 303 of the 312 laps. With 8 laps remaining Ginsberg dove down inside of Duke's #01 car to take the lead. In second was Duke followed by his teammate and cousin Luke in 3rd. Teammates Mustafa Henderson and Billy Bushinhimer rounded out the top 5.

A lap 199 crash knocked out two drivers, Jackson Pace and Ricky Anderson Jr. while Deacon Palmer, Lew Sifford and Bo Danville all failed to finish the race with various mechanical issues. Palmer was running in the top 10 with with less than 10 laps to go when his problems hit.

Comrade Twelve was supposed to start in the 19th position, but he was unable to even make it to the start finish line as a piston broke on the car. He did receive the 38th places 6 points for the race.

So, for season #2 I have decided we will end up switching mods to the brand new Bullring Gen 6 2015 mod for the game. I am going to be finishing up all cars by the end of season 1 so everyone's will be ready. Getting cars made for this new mod will be much easier than the original. This means there will probably not be any pictures from this season's races but I will keep you updated when I have new cars ready.

I've already started getting a lot of them painted. Here are some pictures from some of the new cars. There a still some small details to go on all of these but they are getting close to done.

In the first one you'll see the #49 Krispy Kreme car driven by Wallace Bryant, the #01 of Bo Duke, the #21 Guinness car of Rob Nielsen, #51 Mello Yello car of Mustafa Henderson and #11 Taco John's car driven by Hawk Grey.

In the second picture is the #24 Walmart car driven by Comrade Path, the #49 again, the #27 Samuel Adams car driven by Seamus Archer and the #4 Yuengling Lager car driven by Benton Gale.

In the third is the #20 Bass Pro Shops car driven by Avery Thomas and in the 4th picture you'll see the #51, the #55 Frank's Red Hot car driven by Douglas Douglas and the #11. In the 5th you can see the 21, 01, #69 Viagra car of Red Neckanback, 55, 11, 49, and 24.

Wow. What a race we had today. A lot of different stories in this one. The biggest one, bigger than even the race winner, was Wheely McStephens. Wheely may have just made himself the most hated driver on the circuit. On lap 159, Cannon Pace was in the midst of leading for the 25th straight when a strong charging #38 car driven by McStephens spun him around in turn 4 ending his day. Cannon hit hard on the outside wall and finished 35th. Wheely wasn't done however. His car was definitely strong and he led a good portion of the next laps before losing the lead during pit stops. Impressively he found his way back up the front where Chaci Bonaparte was leading the race followed by Ginny Tonic in 2nd. Wheely made a move to try and pass them and spun around Tonic into Bonaparte which also in turn collected Avery Thomas and Al Cohallik who were a few laps down. Wheely survived unscathed and continued to dominate until the final portion of the race when his car began to fade. Patrick Hutt who ran in the top ten all day dialed in his car for the last run and with 14 laps left passed Wheely to take the lead and cruise to the victory by over 6 seconds.

Possibly though the most impressive run of the day belonged to Bo Duke. Bo led for 70 laps early in the race and looked dominate. A pit road mishap cost him dearly though and he went at one point 2 laps down. Bo was able to make his way back to the lead lap by the end of the race and ended up with a 6th place finish.

2nd place starter Mustafa Henderson had a problem right from the beginning and only completed 10 laps on the day for a 39th place finish. Hawk Grey, Jackson Pace, Wallace Bryant, and Fast Eddie Chilton all had car problems which ended their runs.

Today's race was dominated by two drivers, Red Neckanback and Bo Duke. They traded the lead and ran 1-2 almost all day and at the end ended up as the only two drivers on the lead lap. Neckanback was able to hold off Duke at the end to pick up the victory and greatly increase his chances of getting a wild card spot for the playoffs. Duke's strong finishes continue with a 2nd and they were followed by Bo Danville, David Ginsberg and Ricky Anderson Jr.

Terrific racing today in Michigan. A group of cars battled all day up swapping the lead and it was neck and neck right down to the finish. A caution flag came out with less than 10 laps to go which set up a great finish. On the final lap Deacon Palmer took the white flag in first but Patrick Hutt made a great pass in turn 2 and held off Palmer and Wheely McStephens to pick up his second victory on the year and guarantee himself a spot in the playoffs. Rounding out the top 5 was Bo Duke in 4th with another great run and points leader Rob Nielsen in 5th.

Polesitter Blue Neckansack had a problem on the opening lap and headed to pit road losing a lap. He never gained the lap back and despite having one of the days strongest cars finished in 34th.

A lap 97 crash knocked out David Ginsberg and Chaci Bonaparte from the race.

Newcomers Dicky Woodhouse and Mike Schaplowsky made their debuts today. Woodhouse finished 7th and Schaplowsky 27th.

TRUCK SERIES

With the series nearly full, I want to make sure there is always room for new drivers and to keep this series going on for a long time. Starting in Season 2 I will be adding the FOFC Camping World Truck Series. All new drivers will head on over to the Truck series in order to try and earn their way into the Sprint Cup Series.

At that point, we will begin a relegation system where the bottom 5 drivers from the Sprint Cup series will be demoted to the Truck Series for the next season and the top 5 Truck series drivers will be promoted. All drivers are eligible to add a driver into the Truck series but the rule will remain where you can only have 2 drivers at a time in the Sprint Cup series. If your driver finishes in the top 5 of the trucks he cannot be promoted if you already have 2 drivers.

As well as being a way for new drivers to enter the series, it can also be a way for current drivers to try out new stat sets with your truck drivers.

If you are interested in signing up a new driver into the Truck series, head over to the sign-up thread. The FOFC Racing Series - Sign-Up Thread - Front Office Football Central (http://www.operationsports.com/fofc/showthread.php?t=90185)

Breaking News

Breaking news out of Pace Racing today. Limited sponsorship money has forced Pace Racing to shut down the operations of the #33 team immediately. Jackson will stay with Pace Racing and will drive their #30 Skittles Toyota in the inaugural season of the FOFC Camping World Truck Series.

"It's a tough day for Jackson and the #33 team but we will be retaining all of the staff and moving them to our truck operation." said Pace Racing team owner Michael Pace, father of Jackson and Cannon. "I know Jackson wanted to prove he was one of the best drivers in the world and he will still get a chance to do that in the truck series. Hopefully he shows what he can do there and a big time sponsor will come through with a cup ride."

Jackson and the #33 team are currently 20th in Sprint Cup Series points with 1 top 5 and 2 top ten finishes.

The dominant car on the day belonged to Wheely McStephens as he led 208 of the day's 400 laps. But at the end of the race when it mattered most his car faded to a 4th place finish. Four other drivers took turns out front, Bo Duke, Blue Neckansack, David Ginsberg and finally with 32 laps remaining Mustafa Henderson took the lead and held off Ginsberg for the win.

Every driver finished the race as the day had only 1 caution flag.

Ricky Anderson Jr moves up to 6th, Indy Wahl is 7th followed by Hawk Grey, Aaron Kappe and Benton Gale in the final playoff spot. Another top 5 and top 10 finish looks good, but I was honestly expecting a little bit more from Luke in this race. We need to stay strong though, the gap between 1 and 5 is greater than the gap between 5 and 10. I don't think I ever thought that the team would run strong enough to get 2 cars into the chase.

Drivers outside of the top who are clinging to hope of a wild card spot need at least 2 of these 3 drivers to finish in the top 10.

Rob Nielsen's hold on the points lead is even stronger after his 2nd place finish. Bo Duke picked up another top 10 and is 2nd. Ginsberg is 3rd followed by Wheely McStephens and Luke Duke. Ricky Anderson Jr, Aaron Kappe, Blue Neckansack, Hawk Grey and Ginny Tonic round of the top 10.

Yup you change them after the season any way you wish. Two major wrecks shaped this race as only 18 cars were able to make it to the finish. The first big wreck happened on lap 18 and knocked 12 cars out of the race but included many more. The pile up started right near the front of the pack as Kyle Kappe turned around the #21 of Rob Nielsen. Nielsen bounced off of Lew Sifford and down into Wheely McStephens starting a massive pileup.

The second of the major wrecks occurred on lap #44. Helen Wheels and Indy Wahl got together and set off another huge chain reaction crash that knocked out 10 cars including the points leader Rob Nielsen.

After those two wrecks things settled down for the most part and a 5 car breakaway that included Wallace Bryant, Blue Neckansack, Nile Kinnick, Aaron Kappe and Bo Danville battled it out for the win. Lapped traffic got in the way a bit as Bryant was able to hold off the others and collect the win after leading 27 laps on the day.

Only 1 more race left until the playoffs are set. Rob Nielsen, Bo Duke, David Ginsberg and Wheely McStephens have their playoff spots wrapped up and Aaron Kappe is close to a lock. The rest of the spots are still up for grabs and a bad day from anyone 6-10 can knock them out of the chase. Mustafa Henderson and Patrick Hutt currently have the wild card spots. If one of Henderson or Hutt gets into the top 10 and Stroker Ace stays in the top 10 as well Wallace Bryant or Red Neckanback could get themselves a spot in the playoffs.

Finally the playoffs are set after a very eventful afternoon at Iowa. On the pole for the second straight race it was Wallace Bryant looking to pick up #2 and get a spot in the playoffs. But it wasn't long at all before Wheely McStephens, starting from the 2nd spot, took the lead and dominated most of the day. Wheely took the lead from Bryant on lap 47 and led in total on the day 220 laps. But as happened to Wheely before, his car fell off a bit at the end and he ended up with a 3rd place finish. Patrick Hutt, already a two time winner this season took the lead with 17 laps to go and cruised to his 3rd victory on the season and secured his spot in the playoffs.

Now, how did the playoffs shake out? It was about as close as you could possibly imagine for that last playoff spot. Mustafa Henderson, who could into the playoffs based off his two wins, ended up tied for the final playoff spot with Ricky Anderson Jr. Based off Mustafa's two wins he gets the tiebreaker over Ricky and will start the playoffs with 6 extra points now based off his wins. If he had finished 11th he would have gotten no bonus points. Ricky ends up missing the playoffs in the most heartbreaking fashion and so did Benton Gale who finished in 12th, only 1 point behind Henderson and Anderson. With Hutt winning and getting into the top ten, and Henderson sneaking into the top ten, the two wild card spots then fell to Red Neckanback and Wallace Bryant. Neckanback and Bryant were the only two race winners not in the top ten.

A major wreck on lap 150 sent Bo Danville to the hospital for observation as he flipped up and over some cars during the pileup.

There may be some bad blood between the Nielsens tonight as on lap 252, Marcus Nielsen and Avery Thomas collided which sent Rob Nielsen sliding into the inside wall and ended his day early for the second straight race.

"Not good," was all Kellen Killinger, rookie driver of the #91 Mopar Dodge could say after his 42nd place finish in his debut race at the Iowa short track.

"I thought we brought a good car with us to Iowa today but I felt something break and I had to bring 'er in. I'm still not sure what happened but the car couldn't go anymore. But we'll be back next week and the #91 RPM Garages Mopar Dodge will give 'em hell at Atlanta."

His teammate at RPM Garages, Zack Topper, had a great run that ended up with a 10th place finish for the #99 Scott's Ford in only his second career race.

"I thought our day was done after that idiot Bushinhimer spun us out there on the backstrectch," said Topper referring to the crash that involved a whole mess of cars. "He spun us right out and gave us no room, he'll get what's coming to him. But the crew did a great job of making repairs and we still got a top 10 out of it."

RPM Garages head to Atlanta next week to take part in the QuikTrip 500.

It was a relatively quiet race to start off the Season 1 playoffs. Only two cautions on the day but one was for a four car crash on lap 285 that knocked out title contender Patrick Hutt from a top ten running and also knocked out Wallace Bryant

Early on it was Dexter Jackson and Wheely McStephens dominating the race, a few others led a lap or two here or there after them until David Ginsberg took control and looked to well on his way to the victory. That was until that final caution for the crash involving Hutt and Bryant bunched the field back up. Hawk Grey was able to pass Ginsberg soon after racing resumed and he never looked back, leading the race's final 35 laps on his way to victory.

Ginsberg was 2nd followed by fellow playoff participant Blue Neckansack. Stroker Ace was 4th and then Luke Duke, Mustafa Henderson and Wheely McStephens in 8th, 9th and 10th were the title contenders in the top 10. Aaron Kappe was 14th, Rob Nielsen 15th, Bo Duke 24th, Red Neckanback 31st, Patrick Hutt 39th and Wallace Bryant 41st.

Topper better watch himself around Bushinhimer. Billy might just put him in the wall.

Today's race looked it would belong to Kellen Killinger. The newcomer to the series who is driving the #91 Mopar Dodge took the pole and jumped out to a big lead early. But as the first long green flag went on his car began to fade and he relinquished the lead to Rob Nielsen, who after leading for 42 laps gave up the lead to Chaci Bonaparte who led for 48 laps. After a caution on lap 112 for an accident that involved 8 cars, including title contending teammates Red Neckanback and Blue Necksansack, the field was bunched back up and Killinger quickly moved himself back up the front where he would stay for a while until his car began to fade on the long run again and Bo Duke took over as the new leader. A 5 car accident on lap 228 would knock out playoff driver Aaron Kappe, Mustafa Henderson and Stroker Ace and bunch the field back up again. This time Killinger jumped out to another big lead again as he passed Duke right after the restart and he would stay there until there was only 8 laps left. And yet again, his crew was unable to figure out the long runs as his car faded and Rex D'Car made the pass to take the lead and the win, his first and the first for Tire Barrier bRacing.

Killinger was 2nd followed by playoff driver Bo Duke in 3rd, Ricky Anderson Jr in 4th and Chaci Bonaparte in 5th. Chaci now has 3 top 10's in the past 4 races. Rob Nielsen was 8th, Wallace Bryant 9th, Wheely McStephens battled back after he found himself running in the 30's for the race's first half and wound up 13th. David Ginsberg was 16th, Luke Duke 20th, Patrick Hutt 21st, Aaron Kappe 31st, Mustafa Henderson 33rd, Stroker Ace 34th, Red Neckanback 35th and Blue Neckansack 42nd.

Boy, did that pit barrier cause problems!

I've never seen anything quite like it. Both accidents started with one car spinning out trying to get into pit lane and then everyone doesn't know what to do. The one problem with the game is it was made before NASCAR changed the rules to disallow racing back to the caution flag so whenever theres a caution the drivers don't seem to understand how to slow down.

That was the funniest accident in the history of FOFC racing. Glad we trained pit row crash avoidance as much as we did. Nice to see a bit of a bounce back from the boys after the last couple.

As somebody whose team is struggling in this iteration of the Series, I have a silly competitive balance suggestion -- make the series winner reveal a few of their ratings each year. I get the sense that some of us are fumbling around in the dark, while others that have NR2003 experience know what's up.

I get the sense that some of us are fumbling around in the dark, while others that have NR2003 experience know what's up.

I've been trying to come up with a few ways we could add a bit more parity to the series while still making sure it is not completely a toss up either.

One way I've been thinking of is changing over the car stats part of the ratings. Keep the driver stats as is and that would continue to be the random part of the series and where drivers can make their improvements. What I was thinking of for the car stats is giving everyone the same settings. In the game you can have a minimum number and a maximum number. My thought is to set the minimum at 80 and maximum at 100. Every time we start the race the game randomly assigns a rating between 80 and 100 to your driver for that race. Or set the stats at 70-100 for 3 of the 4 car stats and then pick one where your driver or team excels at and set that at 85-100.

I really do feel like car stats are what probably causes the greatest divide among the drivers and if you don't have it just right your driver will suffer. We could leave it up to the driver and not the car. Any other suggestions would be great, always trying to find any way to make the series more competitive.

If you know the way the games settings are you can dominate and I wouldn't mind decreasing that a bit. I've done enough messing around with it where if I wanted to I could probably have Cannon winning 4-5 races a year but I've decided to give him a random middle of the road setup and hope for the best.

The offline league I used to be in did something similar to that. We only adjusted our driver stats and never even knew the car stats were there so I'm not sure what they were set at.

I have never played this game. So I was happy when Hawk won a race. Even though it was a race too late.

In nascar, the cars are pretty much the same arent they? A few tweks here and there. But for the most part there isnt a huge difference. ]
I like just tinkering with the drivers and have the cars all similar.

Would, say, a 20 point allowance to tweak a car at the beginning of the season make a huge difference? What Im saying is to have a set number for the car stats, then each owner has 20 points to play with.

Something like that could definitely work. Set all 4 car stats to 80 and then each driver gets 20 to add to that however they wish.

Yeah for the most part all the top teams in Nascar have very similar strength cars so it wouldn't be unrealistic at all to have that here.

Bonaparte has been an interesting one to watch. He's had quite a few races where he has ran up in the top ten only to get involved in someone else's mess or just have his car completely fall off.

You never quite know what to expect from a road course race. Drivers that may not normally run up front may surprise you with their road racing skills. Rob Nielsen took the pole in this one and led the race's first 22 laps before losing the lead to Billy Bushinhimer. Bushinhimer was in control for most of the day's action and led for 67 laps, but didn't lead the laps that counted. With 12 laps remaining, the #06 Kroger car of Deacon Palmer took the lead in turn 7 and cruised to the victory by over 7 seconds. Bushinhimer had to settle for 2nd, in 3rd was Seamus Archer, Bo Danville was 4th and Aaron Kappe was the first playoff contender in 5th.

As for the other playoff drivers, Wheely McStephens was 8th followed by Rob Nielsen in 9th. David Ginsberg came home 11th, Luke Duke was 15th, Bo Duke 24th, Mustafa Henderson 25th, Stroker Ace 29th, Red Neckanback 31st, Wallace Bryant 32nd, Blue Neckansack 38th and Patrick Hutt finished last in 42nd after spinning off the track a few times during the race.

Bo Duke and the #01 team came up huge when it mattered most today at Darlington. With only two races remaining and Duke on the verge of falling out of contention with a bad run, him and his team had a great day at Darlington. Duke started 18th and quickly moved his way up where he ran in the top 5 all day until the final 31 laps of the race where he made a great move diving underneath the #48 of Ginny Tonic to take the lead and the win by 11 seconds.
Tonic finished 2nd after leading 61 laps, in 3rd was Dexter Jackson who led 95 laps, Cannon was 4th and Rob Nielsen was the second playoff driver in 5th. Al Cohallik led the most laps on the day, 123, before finishing 22nd.

Playoff drivers were Bo Duke 1st, Nielsen in 5th, McStephens in 7th, Ginsberg 9th, Neckansack 13th, Luke Duke 18th, Hutt 21st, Henderson 23rd, Ace 24th, Bryant 27th, Neckanback 41st and Kappe 42nd.
