...when your Legend of the Game quarterback that you have had on your team for all of his career decides to retire. :(

-3 time MVP
-4 time Championship Game MVP
-4 time Offensive Player of the Year
-7th all-time in passing yards (for the first half of his career I had the 2nd all-time leader in career rushing yards in the backfield so he didn't have to throw as much for that part of his career)
-2nd all-time leader in passing touchdowns (3 shy of the leader)
-3rd all-time leader in career passer rating
-Career record of 189-73

Problem is that I haven't had any luck trying to draft his replacement (knew that one of these seasons he was calling it a career)

7-8-1 the season after... no player close to being a replacement. Ended up starting a rookie that got hurt game one and out for the season. Signed a QB that Denver had released after week 1 (was their starting QB the prior season and for week 1 of this season but coming off a 4 interception performance they dropped him. He did okay for us but is not a permanent solution.

(would have rather gone 1-15 and had the top pick...)

Just like in the real NFL, unless you're Green Bay or Indy.

I'm just entering this phase myself after losing a legendary QB in the RDFL. His stats are as follows:

- 5 Bowl wins
- 5 time Bowl game MVP
- 1 league MVP
- 1 offensive player of the year award
- 1st all-time QB rating
- 3rd all-time in passing TD's
- 5th all-time in passing yds
- career record of 223-58

I only have 1 QB under contract at present (3rd year guy rated 10/35) and the FA markets is slim pickings at best, so I guess it's time to re-design my gameplan and see where that takes me.
