Anyone have any ideas on how to stop a defense from falling apart in the 2nd half of a game? It seems to happen a lot with my teams. I have a good lead going into the 3rd quarter. The defense is solid in the 1st half, but late in the game, they fall apart and I lose the lead and most of the time, the game.
To my knowledge, there's no setting for defensive play late in a game. or is there? Is it bad luck? I thought maybe endurance, but most of my teams have decent end in what I would guess is 80% of the squad.

My gut feeling is that Head Coach motivation is playing a bigger role than it used to. Might want to check that and see if you see any correlation.

Most all my HC's have very good to excellent motivation. It's probably the most important things I aim for in a HC. That and discipline.

Get better players, saw. :D
Maybe you're gameplanning for a 1st half team?? I tend to split the difference in Gameplan Analyzer between 1st half and full game offensive tendencies. Meaning, someone runs 60% of the time in the 1st half, but only 40% for the entire game then I'll put in a run D for 50%. Something like that.

What's your Playing time set to? Regular and blow out setting?

@garion, GPA only shows "full game" and "1st half", so you don't totally get the 2nd half numbers. I tend to focus mostly on the 1st half numbers. I figure the 2nd half, adjustments are kicking in -- for both teams. I haven't given too much thought to evaluating how my teams are doing 1st vs 2nd half, admittedly. I just look at the W/L column.

Oops, fixed to show what I meant.

I don't use GPA, so that's not the issue.
@ AH4L....Starters are set to 90-95% and blowout is at 50%. But looking at the number of plays my starters play, I don't think they're being benched in the 2nd half.
I'll keep tinkering I guess.

put them both at 70%, your players are getting tired.

Mine are both at 100. Is there really something to this?

Yes, I've noticed my players get tired at 90% so I can't imagine what 100% would do.

I believe the Help file says that "tired" only has an effect on the next game.
The "only" portion may be wrong.

Can't hurt to try it. I would think if the players endurance is high, they shouldn't get tired.
