So this weekend I went on a hike, got distracted by a squirrel and didn't notice the pointy rocks on my trail and munched it. My leg was shredded pretty good. The first thing I did was look around and make sure no one saw. Luckily, I was by myself, phew.

What's the first thing you do after you fall?

Poll forthcoming.

I tell myself I need to cut back on the booze.

I grab my ankle, roll around, and hope I drew a penalty

Usually, I open my eyes and someone says, "You just had a seizure" and then I vomit.

The only time I've fallen in the last ten year was a fall where I busted my hip.

What did I do? Ignored the pain and laughed at myself, cracked some jokes to calm some of the people around me who seemed to be in much more pain than me and tried to relax. (which was surprisingly easy given the fact my left leg was 6 inches shorter than my right leg and my left foot was bent in a direction it shouldn't have been.

Given the results of that fall, I hope to God I don't ever do that again. :)

Vic, I've fallen (http://youtu.be/ri-PLARA19Q)

This might not be the best audience for a clip of a 25 year old cult UK show, but the thread title immediately made me think of it, so why not!

Last time I fell I ended up with a bag hamstring that took about 3 months of rest and rehab to heal. So I am most definitely praying to Trout for its divine favor.

I selected the third option but the real choice is somewhere between #1 and #3. I definitely feel embarrassed and look around to see if anyone noticed. But if anyone did, I laugh at myself and shrug it off.

This should definitely be an option. That's my first response too.

If we expand it beyond just falling, I get pissed at myself for messing up. Dont care if anyone else sees but I literally have a moment of self hatred.

I saw a comedian on the AXES channel the other day telling a joke about this.

He said when you are young and you fall the first thing you do is look around and make sure nobody saw you, whew!

When you are old and you fall, the first thing you do is look around and hope someone saw you, whew!

I guess you are young.
