First I lose the Sonics from my original home town and now I lose the Generals from my adopted one. I hate pro basketball!

The team’s purpose was to PLAY the Globetrotters, the purpose was not to LOSE to the Globetrotters. Weird as it sounds, the Generals were always playing to win. True, they faced a few disadvantages, such as the fact that the Globetrotters would sometimes hide the ball under their shirts, or attach a string to the ball, or pull down the Generals players’ pants, or soak a player with a bucket of water. The referees consistently missed blatant Globetrotters rules violations. In the end, the Globetrotters would go into their famous “Sweet Georgia Brown” weave offense, which has no defense.

I guess the guesstimates are the Globetrotters want to own the opponent rather than this arrangement. I can see that. Seems like you'd want a farm team of sorts to play against might make it easier/better or whatever, but yeah...end of an era. I mean I can't see them going straight and playing real teams nobody wants to deal with those antics. Gotta be a made-up team.
