2. The Blacklist
3. Brooklyn Nine-Nine

That's sort of a rough estimate. My wife and I watch everything in order on or DVR in which it aired and those are the ones I always look forward to watching the most.

2. Better Call Saul

Umm, beyond that, there isn't anything else I watch in first run (you did say current, but if I'm watching syndicated reruns only of a show that's still airing I really don't think that counts) There's a couple that I'll stop & watch five minutes while room surfing -- saw Code Black recently when I was too lazy to find the remote & was actually impressed, I'll watch a few minutes of Grimm if my wife has it on, any of the L&O franchise or the CSIs. But those really don't count for this IMO.

Game of Thrones
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The League
Daredevil (if you count Netflix shows)
The Walking Dead

Honorable Mention, because it only loosely falls into the category of active tv shows:
Sherlock

Radii

In terms of (my perceived) show quality:

1. The Americans
2. Better Call Saul
3. Game of Thrones
4. Fargo
5. Brooklyn Nine Nine

In terms of entertainment value/how closely I keep up to a show in real time, I'll hand in the man card and admit the Greys Anatomy remains a ridiculous guilty pleasure. Also, I always watching Walking Dead the night it airs, but that's more based on how tough it is to avoid spoilers than an urgent need to see what happens right away.

Kodos

Brooklyn Nine Nine would be number 6 for me.

Chief Rum
10-28-2015, 12:30 PM
Game of Thrones
Walking Dead
Criminal Minds

I'm only willing to put those three up in a list, as I watch them whenever I can. I also watch Fear of the Walking Dead and Better Call Saul, but I need to see those grow more as shows before I would elevate them to the level above.

I haven't watched any of the 2nd season of Fargo yet, or that probably would've gotten in there. Season 1 was amazing.

I'm going to skip shows that are only on Netflix or Amazon or whatever and stick to what's available on cable, because it's easier.

Game of Thrones
Walking Dead
The Americans
Fargo

Man! That was hard. There really is a glut of good TV out there, especially when you through in the Netflix stuff. It's madness!

Oh yeah. Orange is the New Black, forgot about that. Transparent on Amazon wasn't quite on the same level for me as some of these shows despite the awards won, but its worth remembering at least. I know many others hold Rectify *very* highly, I need to watch that. The Leftovers, I need to start season 2, season 1 was amazing to me. Also, I realized after I posted that I have apparently already forgotten about Mr Robot. Orphan Black is another favorite, though its gotten convoluted enough that it probably doesn't deserve to touch my top 5 right now.

There is a LOT of seriously good television around right now.

Funniest damn show i've seen in a long time.

I have only seen a couple episodes, but, yes, I agree, it's hilarious. I see a lot of stuff like this that I think look very good, but I wouldn't put it on a list because I haven't seen enough of it.

The MLK episode was one I saw, and I just about fell off the treadmill I was running on laughing at the imaginary scene they had of white workers being all whitish at work on a "black holiday" MLK Day, like some great things happen at work when the black workers aren't in the office.

Black-ish is fantastic indeed. There are just so many fantastic and amazing shows out there these days, however.

1) The Leftovers
2) Orange is the New Black
3) Brooklyn Nine-Nine
4) Jane the Virgin
5) The Flash / Empire (I cheated, but I couldn't decide)

Honorary Mention: Black-ish, Penny Dreadful, Fresh Off the Boat, Game of Thrones, The Last Man on Earth, iZombie, The Good Wife, Transparent, Sleepy Hollow (with the exception of most of Season 2), New Girl, BoJack Horseman - see tons of great shows out there.

Nathan for You, Saul, the Americans, Silicon Valley, and Archer. I at least hope Archer is on for another season; it took me a long time to remember that as the fifth show, and I don't think there is a sixth.

Person of Interest would be on the list if it is coming back. Is it?

Dr. Who is close.

Orphan Black will be on the list when it comes back.

Thought I heard that Sherlock is coming back at the end of the year. That would be a definite add to the list if seasons weren't only 3 episodes long.

Wish the Jeremy debacle didn't happen as Top Gear would be on the list.

Have been watching Blind Spot and the new Heroes but they aren't in the top 5.

Not sure I can narrow it to five. There's at least 8 I actively pursue watching one way or another.

Shows I make time for when they air:

Game of Thrones
Arrow
Flash
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Agent Carter

Shows I do or will Netflix, either normally or via shenanigans:

Better Call Saul
Daredevil
Jessica Jones

I'm also giving Supergirl a try because Berlanti, and will try to watch Legends of Tomorrow for the same reason.

I guess technically because the Netflix shows can be watched on my schedule, the shows that fit into "top 5 active" would be GoT/Arrow/Flash/Agent Carter/S.H.I.E.L.D. in whatever order, since those require me to actively carve out time for them.

I can't even think of 5 series that I want to watch... Does this include non-fiction/reality shows?

1. Wie is de Mol? (The Mole, Dutch)
2. South Park
3. Castle
4. Bones
5. The Big Bang Theory

The last three are kind of a stretch though, it's basically the top5 I'm most likely to watch a new episode of when it's first aired. Even South Park is kind of a cheat, as I'll usually end up watching it later. The #1 is a clear cut #1 though, quite simply the only TV show I bother to twist my schedule around.

The Americans (by a huge margin)
Brooklyn 99

I have recorded but not yet watched Saul (finishing up Breaking Bad first), but I would imagine that would make the list. And still haven't gotten around to watching GOT, but I'm sure it would be a contender as well

Funniest damn show i've seen in a long time.

I'm definitely a fan, but not in the top 5.

In fact, a lot of the ABC comedies right now are quite good... Fresh off the Boat, The Middle, Black-ish, The Goldbergs. I can't get into The Muppets, and Modern Family needs to be put out to pasture.

But the season finale and the first 2 episodes this year of Black-ish ("N-word" and gun episodes)... not much better TV out there.
