I forgot that Gilbert Arenas was traded to the Magic after the gun play in the locker room.
This is not a list without the Spirits of St. Louis owners at no. 1.

Spirits of St. Louis deal has to go down (in hindsight) as worst sports deal of any kind of all time. Of course at the time I'm sure it seemed reasonable...

And to think the NBA turned down an $8 million buyout offer in 1982.

I wouldn't even limit it to worst sports deal, I would say worst (or best) business deals ever.
