I get a message from 509-872-5536 claiming the IRS is going to file a lawsuit against me, and to call this # back.
Not going to happen, though I could think of ways to put this scammer in their place.
Googled the # and went to
http://www.whycall.me/509-872-5536.html
# is from Pullman, Washington.

Me three. I also get almost nightly a foreign sounding gentleman who obviously is on one of those things that doesn't pick up till the call goes through because even though it gets my machine (yeah, my answering machine), he keeps saying "hello.....hello.....hello?" Last week he had the nerve to say "Hello....hello.....Are you fucking deaf?" I know it's an irrational correlation but I think I'd appreciate 5 minutes alone in a room with him as much as I would a child molester. Fucking dredges of the earth.
Most "recent" phone scam over here in France is someone (likely from overseas) calling you to tell that you have a package to retrieve as "jean-pierre" (the supposed delivery man) couldn't find your house . In order to retrieve you need to call a pĥone number starting with 0 892 <-- which is absurdly costly.
It is obviously a scam.

I've received calls like this before. They are almost comical. One called and I answered (incorrectly) their questions until I finally said, "By the way, I work for the IRS too." They promptly hung-up. Sad to think people fall for this obvious garbage.

Show of hands, how many have gotten the call from Microsoft telling you your computer is infected? Why Microsoft is calling me from a street corner in Bangladesh I have no idea.

My GF and I get these almost daily...I answer, and create new ways to take up 30 minutes of their time...I know I am on their list now because of it...but hey, 30 minutes with me trying to get me to login to my computer and then walking me through stuff, well....it's 30 minutes less they can prey on someone else.
