Never ask about "down there" as a rule. It will cause problems you don't need.

When I was around 18 I would drive my mom 3 hours to take care of her mom, did this every two weekends. If I got tired I would call my dad's mom. She would talk about her juicy strawberries in her garden. She never seemed to run out of things to talk about but she also put a ton of energy into what she was talking about. Sorry your grandma's sucked.
