Madden 16 Xbox One freezing question

After many years in the wilderness, we got an Xbox 1 for Christmas.

After a few weeks of play, Madden 16 has suddenly started freezing. It gets to the "EA Sports" page and just stops. It isn't the disk b/c it looked fine and then we went ahead and exchanged it anyway.

Google has not helped because most people's freezing questions had to do with the online rosters freezing at the screen with OBJ on it (I don't get as far as that screen).

I deleted the game and re-installed it, but that did not help.

I also unplugged and re-booted the system.

Any help would be appreciated.

I had something similar with FIFA 15. I did the hard reboot by holding down the Xbox button on the right side of the console for 10 seconds while the console was on. After I did that, FIFA didn't give me any more issues.

Is there some kind of a cache file to delete as well as the install file?
