Unbelievable, in less than a month we have lost a literal Mount Rushmore of musical legends.

Lemmy
Natalie Cole
David Bowie
Now Glenn Frey :(

I read an unfortunately honest essay (blog, whatever) over the weekend that pointed out how this month is likely to be somewhat the norm over the next decade or so. What we think of as musical legends or icons are getting to a certain age in very large numbers right now.

Rob Halford is now 64.
Ozzy is 67.
Iggy Pop is 68.

And by the end of that predicted decade period, people like Joe Elliott and Bruce Dickinson and Vince Neil will all be in their mid to late 60s.

Yeah. Anyone who became popular in the 60s to 70s is now approaching 70 years old

Dang. We need some people to make it to their 80s at least.

Alas, as with every other version of the original video I've found tonight, the audio has been stripped out of the video :/

I've seen a number of people on my social media asking about this so I'll share it here as well. It's the full version of the Miami Vice episode, all the music appears to be intact.

Wow, that sucks. Was fortunate to see the Eagles a year and a half ago in Des Moines with great seats. What a show!

I don't know why this memory has stuck with me for years, I guess it's just one of those things that doesn't mean anything, it just takes you back to a time and place. I have such a distinct memory of the Sunday morning that You Belong To The City went to #1. I was listening to Casey Kasems Top 40 Countdown, like I did pretty much every Sunday, but for whatever reason this one has stuck with me so vividly. When they got to #1 and the song played, I was sitting at my front door, looking out the screen door and it was raining cats and dogs, the song and the weather, the rain hitting the street, it was like a movie score. For 30 years now it's the first thing I think of whenever I hear his name. It always takes me back to the time and place, that shitty apartment in that shitty alley that I loved. Oh well, memories and shit. RIP.

I do remember having that "youngin" moment when I thought ..."wait a second! Don Henley and Glenn Frey and Joe Walsh were in a band together?
What was it?"

It think it was the first Hell freezes over tour and they were well into their solo careers that I knew them from.

I never had much of a strong feeling on the Eagles either way(like some of Joe Walsh's work)but I distinctly remember Glenn Frey having a 1 and done tv show when I was in HS

Me too. I considered him my favorite Eagle (was the lead on most of my favorites) but loved "The Heat is On." I know, I know.

Sirius/XM 80s played "True Love (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufTf6fs2NCc)" the other day. Hadn't heard that in ages. Great tune.
