Having sold my first RPG writing content (for a small amount, but hey, it's money). I'm looking to upgrade my PS3/Xbox 360's into a next generation system. Curious to see what systems folks have and get a feel of what games work best on what systems.

Don't have either, but still looking to pick up a PS4 someday so I can play Bloodborne, Until Dawn and Uncharted 4 along with upcoming games like the next David Cage game and Last Guardian.

Neither. We own a Wii and thats it.
Ive been looking at getting a PS4 or Xbox1 myself.
Im thinking it comes down to what your buddies have so you can play games with them.

Last console I bought was the original Wii. Prolly won't be getting another until the kids get old enough to start begging for whatever's new and shiny at the time.

PS4, mainly for the show, though I like the way Madden looks on PS4 better than Xbox as well. Plus the added benefit of PS Vue which we are looking at going to as a replacement for Directv.

The Wii U is great. Even without third party support the first and second party lineup that Nintendo has put out is fantastic.

Odd....it says I already voted when I didn't. Yet it still shows the options rather than results.

Have the XboxOne. Had both a 360 and a PS3 before, but was still in the workforce then ;) (back to college/university now). Basically i never could get a grip on the PS3 controller with sports games especially and since those are my main titles on console that and the slightly cheaper price made me get an xboxOne. Easy backwards compatibility does not hurt at all.
Thereīs probably plenty of reasons to get a PS4 (heck, i am currently slightly miffed about missing out on No Mans Sky :( ), but iīve been really happy with the One as an all-purpose console for video, music and gaming. Also had a neat experience service wise recently when they replaced both my controllers free of charge for separate minor issues.
The "what are your friends" playing was not really a factor for me since the way people i know that play games are mostly playing on the PC, though i would definitely say itīs sth to consider.

Can I play any of the old NCAA football games on Xbox 1 or PS4.
That would be a factor for me

No. Licensing issues likely mean that the NCAA Football games won't be made backwards compatible on XBox One and there's no backwards compatibility for PS4.

I have a WiiU. Before that I had an XBox 360.
I kind of wish I had a PS4 to play No Man's Sky (Surface Pro 4's aren't really any good for gaming), but oh well.

Have both the Xbox one and the PS4. I go in spurts. The PS4 has been VERY busy this summer with me being addicted to MLB the Show. I still prefer the XBox controller and will play any game I have a choice on with that console.
I just don't see me upgrading again for awhile. Have a powerful PC. Outside of a handful of exclusives, I'm just not interested in the consoles much anymore.

Very tough choice if you like sports.
I have a PS4 so I can play MLB the Show, but for the past several years NBA 2K has been a bit nerfed on the PS4 if you play longer than 8 minute quarters. Highlights and replays don't work properly.
If you must have MLB, get PS4.
If you must have a proper NBA 2K, get XBox 1.

Neither. I'm a member of the glorious PC gaming master race.

It took a while, but once again, I have everything. Most of my play is on my PS4. I own a handful of games for Xbox One, but let's be real: all I play on Xbox One are Forza and Rock Band.

Technically I have a PS4, but my brother-in-law has had it at his place for like 6+ months now and I doubt I'll ever feel the need to ask for it back.
I have a WiiU for Zelda, but I haven't touched it in awhile either.

Nada, but I told the boys that I would consider getting one, but they are both, like me, pretty locked into PC gaming.
I still haven't decided which one I'd get anyway.

We have Ps4, Xbox One and WiiU. I prefer the PS4 by far...easier navigation, rest mode, plus we have a ton of connectivity issues with our Xbox One.
My 2-year old daughter thought the WiiU was a piggy bank and filled it with change so it was toast about a month after we got it so not sure where it would rank. We should probably get it fixed I guess.

She hasn't quite grasped how digital purchases work but she knows you pay the money via the console.

Got both Playstation 4 and XBox One, also a Wii U ... and pretty much everything else you can think of, goes with the job tbh ...

I have both but I'm glad I didn't pay a dime for them. I've been thoroughly underwhelmed by both. My son and I ended building a gaming PC and get way more enjoyment out of that.
