I'm starting a new thread about this to help make sure it doesn't get missed. In some cases of crashes, it would be better to be able to have some back-and-forth with Customer Support to solve crashes, and as such, a request has come from Solecismic Software that crash reports go directly to the Customer Support address. Below are some guidelines.

1. If your crash is related to a display issue, please see first the display issue thread: FOF8 Display Issues Troubleshooting/Help - Front Office Football Central (http://www.operationsports.com/fofc/showthread.php?t=92071) Many are finding crashes to be related to an environment issue on their computer rather than the game, and thus the fix might involve updating drivers, changing settings, etc.

2. If the crash is not related to display, or if that thread does not solve your crash, please email Solecismic's Customer Support. Solecismic is committed to fixing crashes. The email address is customersupport AT solecismic.com

3. Make sure to include the information from your Windows Event Viewer in the report.

4. Please try to replicate your crash in as few steps as possible, starting from a new season. This is the most helpful way of explaining how the crash occurred. For example:

Quote:
<table width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="4" border="0"> <tbody><tr> <td class="alt2" style="border:1px inset"> Sample Crash Report:
1. Start New Game
2. Rex Playbooks, Press Training Camp
3. Open Roster
4. Open Player Card
5. Press Hometown Link
This is when the crash occurs.

The event viewer information is as follows:
Faulting application name: Front Office Football Eight.exe, version: 8.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x58354cad
Faulting module name: Front Office Football Eight.exe, version: 8.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x58354cad
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x0019c597
Faulting process id: 0x149c
Faulting application start time: 0x01d245f35c2ce49a
Faulting application path: D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Front Office Football Eight\Front Office Football Eight.exe
Faulting module path: D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Front Office Football Eight\Front Office Football Eight.exe
Report Id: 60e2081d-d3bd-4681-9e54-506d93b53b1e
</td> </tr> </tbody></table>
Or whatever. The point is for the sequence of events described to be repeatable, and to get the Event Viewer information to Customer Support ASAP.

Above all: email customersupport AT solecismic.com . It's important to fix crashes both for the benefit of you and for the benefit of others who might find themselves in a similar position.
