FOF8: Defensive blitzing plays bugged or working as it should?

When I pick a blitz play for my defensive playbook, it changes where I'm blitzing.

For example;

I pick Cover 2/best man/Blitz 1

When I pick it from the plays up top it shows my WLB blitzing but when I click on it to select it for my playbook it changes blitzer. The more I click on the play, the more it changes the blitzer.

Is this a bug or is it actually changing who blitz's?

I had this issue as well. If you keep clicking on the play it cycle through the available blitzers for that particular play. For example and "Man to Man, Buzz Blitz 1" it can be any of the three linebackers, either cornerback or either safety. (everyone can't always blitz on every type of play if memory serves)

Which one goes? That depends on your gameplan details screen. On that screen it has the drop down box labeled "Blitz Choice Based on Pass-Rush Ability" dropdown. You an set this on random, rare, some, average, frequent, usually or always.

If it's set to always, your highest rated pass rusher on the field who isn't already designated to rush the passer will be the guy picked. Select random and it can be any guy at any time.

In a 3-4 defense with a sensational pass rusher (like Von Miller for example), I've found the usually designation to fit my needs. If you set to always, the offense will be aware of who is coming and be able to compensate for that reality.

Thank you TroyF, that makes sense. You just cycle through the potential blitzers on that play not pick one, that comes from the other screen. I've been using always and you are right, the offense knows who I'm blitzing and he hasn't got the sack's I'm looking for. I'll try kicking it down a notch and testing it.

Someone else helped me with the screen because I was having serious issues getting Von to rush the passer like I wanted to. I had to tick it up so he was going most of the time. (I mean, I don't care if they double Von, he's still going to be my best bet most of the time and if they double him that leaves Ware 1 on 1)

With a bunch of average rushers, I plan on moving the setting to random.
