I apologize for opening another thread, but I think someone else asked this question but I couldn't readily find it. Is there a way to turn off relocation of teams for the human and/or CPU player? Just doing some long term testing and about (8) teams have relocated, including the Pittsburgh Steelers move to Orlando. Would really prefer not to have movement (even if not realistic) or maybe a way to "approve" the moves.

Bump for this, really hoping there is a way to do this also. I feel like I remember there being a way to prevent this, at least in previous versions, but I'm not sure. As you said, maybe it's not realistic but there are certain things I cannot abide, such as the Beaumont Bears. Just no.

The workaround is to just rename the city.

I don't know that there's ever been an option to do prevent that. (And I don't recall it ever coming up here that people were concerned about having such a feature.) I suppose if you equalized cities the odds of a team moving would be much less, though it's not something I've cared about, so I've never really paid attention to it. Dutch is correct, though: if it matters, the city can simply be renamed.

If you rename the city, it would leave duplicate city name records in the database since the old city doesn't get removed when the team moves...any potential issue with that? Although I would prefer an option to turn off, this could work as a work around assuming it doesn't impact anything.

No issues, I have seen. I am using the "Historical" files & have both the New York Jets & the New York Giants in the league. I just renamed New Jersey to New York & used the NYK abbreviation. Any particular changes/saves are only for that particular game file.
