Hi, i want to start in 1970, but i have a some problems.
Point1: I can import draft classes every year to rewrite history. Good.
Point2: I want to start with other DB to avoid duplicate (names, records, HOF points) and if i start with alternate player file, starts in 2016.
Point3: If starts creating a DB with "PlayerFile" aplication, starts in 1970, but with real names and salaries of 2016.
How i can start in 1970 with alternate names, and adjusted salaries to restart the history?
Im trying a lot thing, but i feeling the only way is to edit all players of "player.fdt" is a madness.
HELP! PLEASE!!

It would probably help if you laid out what you have tried. It's difficult to assist with a problem if you don't know what the problem is. I'm assuming you have the correct version of the historical files from what you've said; the playerfile generator has settings to change for the salary cap issue, so more information really is needed here.

Are you trying to use a historical file? I don't think they have been converted over to FOF8 yet.

Hi, thanks for your replies.
I want start in 1970 with real o not real players.
The game FOF8, not open right the historical files from FOF7, so i have to try other ways:
Ok, we have a lot problems because all " historical player files" cannot opened with App "PlayerFile Generator" show me problem called "Error: Line 2 Column, value of 13 not in field range..." if solve this error, appears another, in other line or column.
If i use a correct "playerfile.csv" like the orginal i can change year with playerfile aplication, change the year and adjusting the salary cap, but if start, apperar salaries of 2016, with a lot penalties.
Sorry for my english.
Happy New Year

As I understand it, and with my limited experience, the game engine is not configured to replicate a salary cap from an earlier decade, or more. There is a minimum cap required when configuring the league and you can impose the minimum cap increase allowed. This helps but does not eliminate the contracts from exploding as the season go by. So you can replicate the historical players but are still bound by other game constraints; league format, cap, etc.

I don't understand what you are saying here. What do you mean by 'correct playerfile.csv like the original'? Check out this thread here for discussion and explanation of how to get historical files to work with FOF8:
Historic Draft & Roster Files (File Reupload 15-Mar-11 + Draft tweak) - Page 5 - Front Office Football Central (http://www.operationsports.com/fofc/showthread.php?t=55962&page=5)
Each year is done with a specific salary cap in mind, which is also in that thread. The variance due to X-Factor in players is the only reason why I don't play historically.

Here are the 1970 Historical Files, to include the Draft File for FOF8. Good luck. :)
