After some years away from the game I decided to get back to it with FOF8. Of course some things have changed in comparison to earlier versions.

Is it possible to download gameplans that other users may have created?

I'm fine with just Rexing the gameplan. If the gameplan sucks it gives me a reason to fire the HC/OC/DC. I look to see where my offense/defense finished in the rankings and determine if a staff change is in order. I don't think anyone could consistently do a much better job with their own custom gameplans to make doing it yourself worthy of the time invested.

Yes, there's a save/load gameplan feature. The twist is that every play in the offensive gameplan needs to be in your playbook - so at the very least some coordination is required there, if not a ave/load of that file as well.

I think as the game ages there might be a decent amount of demand for a compendium of sorts, one where playbooks can be uploaded and traded freely. Once it gets put through its paces in an MP environment we are sure to learn a lot more about the game and whether or not rex can outdo a human or not.

Oh, that was exactly what I intended to ask. Sorry for the misleading title (I've been away from FOF for a while, consider me a newbie).

So I actually meant to ask for downloadable playbooks, not gameplans. Is that possible? Today I've started creating my own PB, mostly based on Spread and WCO concepts. Other users will probably have their own unique PBs as well. Wouldn't it make sense to create a platform to share those (if it doesn't already exist)?

EDIT: Maybe one of the mods can change the title to 'Downloadable Playbooks'...

Yes, it's possible and desirable. I imagine that over time we'll have both custom playbooks and NFL-replica playbooks. I think it would be desirable for customers to be able to use something replicating Bill Walsh's SF playbook and the Houston Oilers Run and Shoot, etc., etc. At the moment no one really understands playbooks well enough to design one that outperforms the AI. So we're still learning. But I hope we get there someday.

In the meantime, I imagine websites like this as providing source material: Free Football Playbooks - FootballXOs.com - NFL, College, High School (http://www.footballxos.com/free-football-playbooks/)

That's a great resource corbes... I could see myself creating playbooks based on this info.

Anyone else have similar sites they want to share?

Edit: Not really interested in outperforming the AI, but getting my team to play in a desired way and still be at the same level as the AI would be great!

hah I was looking at that site a few weeks ago and downloaded Jon Gruden's 1998 Raiders playbook. It made my head spin for 200+ pages, learned nothing))

I thought this was an interesting tool in terms basing a gameplan off any team's real life percentages. Easy to search a team for any year(s) to find out what percentage of the time they ran/pass on any down/distance, what percentage of passes were short or long, what percentages of runs were in which directions, etc. Whether or not you could make a game plan better than the AI idk. I've done some searching and looking at numbers, getting some ideas, but haven't tried translating it into a gameplan yet.

Example, 2016 Raiders 1st and 10 outside red zone in first three quarters: 243 plays almost perfectly balanced: 123 pass, 120 run.

of those 123 pass plays, 103 were short/medium... almost limitless what you can do.
