In FOF8 .... is the "Bump and Run" basically "Cover-1" and "Cover-2" defenses? Trying to match up defender skill ratings with proper coverage, so I would assume a player who rates high at bump and run, would do well under cover-1 or cover-2....is that correct?

No. Read the section on pass coverages in the help file document entitled "defensive philosophy." Cover-1 and Cover-2 defenses implicate both zone and man-to-man skills, depending on which player you are talking about. Some of the cornerbacks in press coverage are more likely to use bump and run skills.

Then what plays use "Bump and Run" on defense? In FOF7, the defensive plays clearly said bump and run....how do I tell now what plays are bump and run plays?

Pretty sure press coverage uses it. Any form of double coverage also uses it.

Bump and run is used in man to man coverage, press-1, and press-2 (and goal-line versions of those coverages).

For man to man coverage in FOF, generally in regular personnel both corners and both safeties play B&R; in nickel the nickelback also plays B&R.

For press-1 coverage in FOF, generally in regular personnel both corners and strong safety play B&R; in nickel the nickelback also plays B&R.

For press-2 coverage in FOF, generally in both regular and nickel personnel only the two corners play bump and run.

For goal-line perssonel in FOF, generally the following players play B&R: in man to man, the strong safety, both corners, WLB; in press-1, both corners, WLB, and ILB; in press-2, RCB and WLB.

For tampa-2, corners play man not B&R.

According to game logs, which specific players play B&R on specific plays changes depending on things like offensive formation, blitzes, buzz, double coverage, or spy. One thing that seems constant is when a DB with B&R coverage responsibility blitzes, the WLB will play B&R instead. With dime coverage things are all over the place.

Keep in mind the game logs are really screwed up at this point (pre-second patch) and not totally reliable even aside from the obvious, so it's possible things might change a bit if the logs get straightened out.
