I don't know how many caught this game but those soccer fans out there that missed it missed a classic match. Probably the best game I'd seen since the 2000 European Championship between France and Italy.
I was especially pleased to see the fans. I've *never* seen North American fans so passionate about a club team in any sport - national teams, yes, but not club teams. Men, women and children of all ages were rivetted with the action, singing, shouting, or silent in nervousness, burying their heads, crossing their fingers, exasperated, tense, etc. and when it was all said and done, crying in joy or in defeat.
The atmosphere was amazing and I only wish I could have been there. If only all sports fans were this passionate...
