In my mp league I just drafted a player that is supposed to be a stud safety but he is undersized.

5' 9"
197 lbs

Sol - 41
Dash - 4.33
Strg - 22
Agil - 7.03
Pspec - 60

Scout says he should be very close to maxed out in every rating.

From what little I've seen it seems that undersized safeties don't live up to produce as I think they could or should. I was just wondering if others with more experience with FOF and especially in FOF8 have seen similar or if they can still produce great at Safety?

I was thinking I might just move him to CB. That brings up another question. What have you seen as more of a priority on Defense in the DBs - Safety or CB?

I know the help file says height is more important for CBs, so then maybe he would be better just left at Safety.

You mentioned that all bars are maxed... does that mean that all of the pass coverage bars are equal? I'd be curious to know what his Man, Zone, and BNR ratings are. In most defenses, CB's need to be strong in man & BNR, and generally safeties will need to be strong in zone coverage.

Not knowing the strengths of the rest of your roster, I've found that LCB's and SS's have the most impact on defensive results, so I would start by playing this guy at one of those 2 positions. I'd start with LCB, but if you already have a stud corner, then I would play him at SS.

His coverage bars show Man as highest with BNR being the slighter lower of the 3.

I have one Very Good CB already who is actually a big corner 6"2" 203 lbs. I had actually thought about moving him to Safety before because his zone and BNR are slightly higher than Man but ended up leaving him at corner for need.

All the other DB are high average with my SS playing higher than his bars say. He usually gets around 100 tackles, 2 sacks, and 5 ints. He has a career PD% of 81.4. He's now in his 10th year as has slowed the last two seasons.

I may just switch my current CB to SS and move the rookie S to CB. FOF8 seems much more forgiving of shifting around defensive players than previous versions.

everyone is freaking out about size and fit in 8, I am rocking some weird shot in my MP leagues and think the market is over correcting. dude is a stud period. play him at safety or cb depending on opponent, no penalty on defense for playing out of position. DL and SLB might be a digferent story.
